Zimbra Posted June 2 Posted June 2 5 hours ago, Zimbra said: Jonathan Joss, who voiced John Redcorn on King of the Hill and played Ken Hotate on Parks and Rec, was fatally shot by his neighbor after an argument. He was 59. Goddamn, that is just terrible It's even worse: Joss' husband posted his account of the shooting and said it was a targeted attack from a homophobic neighbor who had been harassing them and allegedly burned their house down. Fuck, man. 5

Fuck, man. I remember having this conversation with someone about how much crime goes unpunished when everyone knows someone committed the crime, but since there isn't any real evidence they just get away with it. I probably know of 5-10 different people who have either shot someone and got away with it or were shot by someone who got away with it (90s crack era was rough around my way). I understand that we can't just lock people up based on conjecture, but if someone who you knew burned your house down, got away with it, and then shot your husband, I can see how you would not have any faith in anything afterwards. This is a terrible story. 3
Curt McGirt Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Its hard to give the benefit of the doubt when people are like that. There was a guy on the news today who got hauled in twice for racist statements about foreign students here, threats to burn a house down too, an involuntary commitment even, and he only got popped with a hate crime after a third strike where he was saying to some Asian kid he was gonna kill him and came at him with either a knife or a pipe. They gave that guy a lot of rope and it almost ended up really bad; but what can you do?
COLETTI Posted June 2 Posted June 2 The day before Pride month, too. These kinds of dangerous bigots are feeling quite emboldened, after all... 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Yeah after reading the Tweet from the husband I see that this murder and the news story I posted above are pretty different Spoiler Their dog's skull and collar was found posted up on the site of the house, FFS. They saw this right before the guy pulled the gun and shot him. How that guy was not in prison for arson already is beyond me. 1
username Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Yeah not for nothing as horrible as this crime is (and it is wretched and hateful) the reporting of it as "an argument" is such utter cowardly BS. 1 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 4 Posted June 4 They aren't even arresting the guy until "further evidence comes to light". So, I guess he's gonna have to murder the husband now before they do anything. Fuck this country forever 3

colonial Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Former MTV VJ Ananda Lewis has died at 52 after a long battle with breast cancer, per a FB post from her sister. She was one of the most beautiful people on the planet when she was on MTV in the late 90s. Also had a short-lived talk show in the early 2000s. 2

Travis Sheldon Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Gailard Sartain dies at 81. Starred in numerous TV and film roles, including the Ernest films, Hee Haw, and Mississippi Burning. I was unaware of his artistic talent, he did the cover for Leon Russell's Will 'O The Wisp (1975). https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/gailard-sartain-dead-hee-haw-mississippi-burning-1236295853/ 1
driver Posted June 21 Posted June 21 I've seen so many episodes of Hee-Haw where he was a cast member, but I never made the connection until now.

Zimbra Posted July 3 Posted July 3 A number of outlets saying that Michael Madsen was found dead in his home this morning. 5
Curt McGirt Posted July 3 Posted July 3 I was gonna make a crude joke about a snake but I'll stop myself. The intro of Kill Bill 2 between him and David Carradine is still one of my favorite pieces of dialogue between two characters, or just cinema period, ever. His list on Wikipedia of work is staggering. In I believe 2019 he did more movies than there were months in a year, on top of probably video games and TV. You probably don't want to watch any of them except to see him, but he's there. RIP 2
AxB Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Julian McMahon died as well. He was in Nip/Tuck and was Dr Doom in the (Michael Chiklis, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans) Fantastic 4 movies 20 years ago. Only 56. Fuck Cancer. He was also married to Dannii Minogue for a couple of years in the 90s, but then most of you probably don't know that there are two famous Minogue sisters. 1
colonial Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Interesting that Julian McMahon played Australia's prime minister in his last role, Netflix's "The Residence," as his father was actually Australia's prime minister for a time in the 70s. First memory of him was NBC's "Profiler" as my parents watched that religiously when it was on. 2
