It's a sad day indeed for all Monster Kids and fans of Science Fiction/Fantasy/horror. Burns owns one of the two original armatures from the stop-motion animation models used in the classic 1933 KING KONG (pictured here). As a gorilla suit actor, you've seen him as Tracy the Gorilla in the 1975 television show THE GHOST BUSTERS. Burns also played Kogar the Gorilla in DARK AND STORMY NIGHT (2009). He was the proprietor of Bob's Basement, a massive collection of movie props, particularly from horror and science-fiction movies There, you could see the original time machine prop from the 1960 George Pal film THE TIME MACHINE. Burns has one of the largest private collections of memorabilia from the ALIEN franchise. Burns was friends with American International Pictures special effects technician Paul Blaisdell for many years, and assisted him with the effects on several AIP films, including INVASION OF THE SAUCER MEN (1957). Burns and Blaisdell also co-published a monster magazine together in the early 1960s called Fantastic MONSTERS OF THE FILMS. There is so much more that I could say about Bob Burns, but you get he gist... Bob Burns was 90 years old, and the definitive embodiment of a Monster Kid. I raise my Goblet of Gorilla-Rock high in Bob Burns' honour!!!" - Phil Guinozzo Gorilla suit actor is a topper at a cocktail party!

The Natural Posted December 22, 2025 Posted December 22, 2025 Driving Home for Christmas singer Chris Rea passes away aged 74. Poignant timing.
odessasteps Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 Yeah, lots of people complain8ng online about people giving RIP to someone with her sociopolitical leanings. I presume no one criticizing her animal activism.
Cobra Commander Posted December 28, 2025 Posted December 28, 2025 Subreddit mods (or their bots) had to be in a little work on a Sunday to lock at least one thread on Bardot Serge Gainsbourg doesn't have to worry about that "personal views" tweet since all of his awful things are just wrapped into his entry (like anything involving his daughter)

My goal in life is to die without making everyone who loves me have to justify loving me. I'm not of the opinion that we should forget people are awful because they died. If you don't want people pointing out all of the awful shit you do did throughout your life, you probably should limit all of the awful shit you plan on doing. 4

My mom killed him. Sorry, all! (Not really but a few weeks ago I put this song on and my mom loves it but didn't seem happy and I asked why and she said "Well he's on his way home and it's so happy, and now he's dead." and I said "Chris Rea didn't die." Then...well...) 42 minutes ago, Zimbra said: Isaiah Whitlock Jr has passed away at age 71. all together now: sheeeeiiiiiittt Super sad about this one. Obviously he was great in The Wire and, of course, The 25th Hour but he was also super-great in comedies like 'Veep' and, especially, 'Cedar Rapids' where he plays a dorky insurance salesman who channels Omar at a party in order to save his friends.
odessasteps Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 I didn’t realize Whitlock was in Goodfellas until seeing the clip a little while ago.
J.H. Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 A heartfelt "SHEEEEEEEET!" shall be said in Whitlock's name. He was also in Pieces Of April un a part that had going "where do I know him from"? James

No idea about his feelings towards Mishawaka, Granger, or Osceola. Two South Bend greats gone in the same year, first Jaworskis leaving Eby’s as the last (great) meat market in the area and now Isiah Whitlock. My head canon is that Whitlock caught wind of Jaworskis closing their doors, said sheeeeeiiit, and bowed out. Regarding that, I had to tell three close relatives in the nursing home, one of them my mom, about that closing and each of them treated it like a family member dying. 1
