Dolfan in NYC Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Tennessee has asked Miami for permission to interview Reggie McKenzie (who's basically their head scout/talent evaluator). They would interview him for the GM role.
Tabe Posted January 8 Posted January 8 OK, Bill in Vegas running the Raiders and dealing with Mark Davis? If I can't get Rex Ryan and Rodgers, I want Belichick and the Raiders on Hard Knocks. 1
Cobra Commander Posted January 8 Posted January 8 can Belichick combine his approach to finding talent with the old school Raider approach of loading the team with guys barely avoiding prison terms? 2

supremebve Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Just now, sabremike said: Marvin Lewis is RIGHT THERE. I feel like this was more Mike Brown wanting to buy open box specials to save money than Marvin Lewis wanting a bunch of ne'er do wells on his team. With that said, I doubt Mark Davis is swimming in cash in comparison to other NFL owners. He, like Mike Brown, only has money because his dad was a football coach who somehow fell into owning a team.
RIPPA Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 BTW - the Raiders become the second team in the Super Bowl era to have a different GM and HC in three consecutive seasons. Only other team was the Browns of the 2010s

As I understand it, the move to Las Vegas has significantly increased the Raiders cash flow and they are no longer in a similar boat as Cincinnati.
Cobra Commander Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I love how the team with the 102 year old owner might not be in the bottom 5 for questionable NFL ownership situations (yeah I know that she doesn’t directly run things but) the other candidates would be guys like Mike Brown, Bud Adams daughter, Woody Johnson, Mark Davis
RIPPA Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 This is brutal and somehow the two people responsible kept their jobs
RIPPA Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 The Jets, Browns and Jags will be the three teams to "host" games in London next season

stuntmanc Posted January 10 Posted January 10 He's become a walking(hobbling?), talking billboard for Karmic justice. 1

The thing that sucks is the Browns have a $43.4 million insurance policy on him, while they have to wait till after the 2025 season to cash it out, they can cut him in 2026 and wipe out the dead money on the cap in 2027 by rolling over that $43.4 million (Insurance reimbursement is considered money from the player, so is added back on to cap space). So Karmic justice for Watson, but the Browns aren't getting punished enough for being the browns. (of course, the ultimate punishment is.. being the Cleveland Browns) https://brownswire.usatoday.com/2025/01/10/browns-deshaun-watson-contract-insurance-meaning/ 1
dogwelder Posted January 10 Posted January 10 5 hours ago, RIPPA said: The Jets, Browns and Jags will be the three teams to "host" games in London next season One nugget that also came out is that the Jaguars will only play a single London game next season instead of back to back like they have the last couple of seasons. 1
RIPPA Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Also - if folks haven't noticed, this is the AFC's year to have the 9th home game so all "host" teams this year for international games will be from the AFC
Dolfan in NYC Posted January 11 Posted January 11 The Jets apparently made their decision on a new HC yesterday.
Tabe Posted January 11 Posted January 11 The 2025 schedules have been released - Detroit gets the following ROAD games: Cincinnati KC Baltimore Philly Washington Rams Good lord.
RIPPA Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Deion Sanders is now pushing to get the Raiders job 2
