Infinit Posted May 7 Posted May 7 AB's crazy came out after he left Pittsburgh. GP's was on display as a Steeler. I'll take AB all day. 1
Brian Fowler Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) AB was under recruited/mis-evaluated in highschool, but it still took a wild series of events for him to end up here. He *almost* wound up at Pitt after the FIU disaster, because Butch Jones thought he had potential. When Jones left for the CMU head job after Cincy hired Brian Kelly, the Pitt opportunity dried up, but Jones offered him a walk on tryout at Central. Zach Azzani essentially babysat him/took him into his family because that was the only way to get him to class and meetings on time. But he wasn't nearly as eccentric and off the wall, or if he was, the staff hid it pretty damn well. Edited May 8 by Brian Fowler
Gonzo Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Chicago Popes: 1 Quarterbacks who have ever thrown for 4,000 yards in an NFL season: 0 3
Gonzo Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Also, the NFL has announced that they'll reveal the slate for this year's International games Tuesday morning on Good Morning, Football, the day before the rest of the schedule comes out. There's a nasty rumor (that I hope isn't true) that the Vikings will be playing overseas games in consecutive weeks against the Steelers (in Dublin) and the Browns (in London) in Weeks 4 and 5.

Cobra Commander Posted May 9 Posted May 9 437lb Desmond Watson in the Bucs practice: https://x.com/LogansTwitty/status/1920892476346298600 Jim Ross would be plotting to abduct him and send him to slim down to 400lbs to be a wrestler if this was during Ross' time running Talent Relations

Craig H Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) I mean in my lifetime and beyond, but I see what you mean. As for passing yards, as much as I borderline hated him this past season, I kinda hoped the Bears or Colts would have taken Riley Leonard late and then the Colts did, which was good because they need the QB work more than the Bears do funnily enough. I can't believe I'm saying something nice about Leonard, but I think his aww gee shucks golly gosh darn mormon-esque dumb as a Golden Retriever mentality may lend itself well to the NFL and a program that can mold him into a better passer. His progressions and accuracy (come on man, you threw the football at your TE's feet when he was maybe 10 yards away and wide open) were atrocious, but every game he'd do some things that looked exceptional, so there's a good QB in him somewhere, probably a good system QB. Brian Fowler Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I like Leonard to the Colts because he is a guy that runs a quarterback, and they are either going to start Richardson, who is a better runner by far that passer or Danny Dimes who, at least before the injury, was a surprisingly effective runner. So Leonard should be about to step right in without them having to change the playbook much. Plus, the kid is obviously tougher than J.R.'s two dollar steak and damn sure isn't pulling himself from a game because he's tired. He almost willed ND to that title last year just on toughness and endurance. But I have a hard time seeing him ever being a plus starting QB at this level.

RIPPA Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 It seems like the Vikings really really wanted to play in Ireland so they agreed to play the second game Also Quote The upside of the scheduling quirk for the Vikings is that they will miss trips to Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, where they've never won, and to Cleveland, where they have one victory since 1989.
