RIPPA Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 Russell Wilson and the Giants are in agreement one a one year deal Aaron Rodgers will now be Pittsburgh’s problem (potentially)
lostinube Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Giants signing Jameis and Russ just so they can tell Aaron "See? Spots all gone. Sorry."

dogwelder Posted March 25 Posted March 25 In other news the Patriots signed Stefon Diggs for 3 years, $69 million
hammerva Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) So the Giants is either drafting Travis Hunter or trading down, get a punch of picks and tank for Arch That cancer is definitely coming to Pittsburgh. He is the perfect "The Standard is the Standard" QB to make us miserable Edited March 26 by hammerva

Kevin Wilson Posted March 26 Posted March 26 4 hours ago, dogwelder said: In other news the Patriots signed Stefon Diggs for 3 years, $69 million That feels like an over-pay for a turning-32 WR coming off a major injury (although we won't know more until the contract details as I think its "up to" 69 million) but the Patriots have lots of cap space so maybe that's just what they had to pay to get a 1B WR. I think his side is claiming he'll be ready Week 1 but torn ACLs are no joke so for his sake I hope they don't rush him back. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted March 29 Posted March 29 John Harbaugh is signing an extension that will keep him as Ravens HC through the 2028 seasonÂ
Kevin Wilson Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Bills extended Christian Benford for 4-year, $76M (probably agent numbers so a 'max' of $76M). Seems like a fair number for a mid-range CB1, glad they were able to get it done. Now James Cook is the only one left and I don't think he'll get an extension unless he is willing to take at/under 13M a year which I don't think is what he wants. 1

Considering his history of fumblitis, I'm not sure I'd invest but money in him.
Kevin Wilson Posted March 30 Posted March 30 4 hours ago, Kuetsar said: Considering his history of fumblitis, I'm not sure I'd invest but money in him. The fumbling aspect isn't really something I'm concerned about (he only had one fumble last year and didn't lose it), I'm more concerned that the Bills don't use him on 3rd down and in the two minute drill due to his pass blocking/receiving issues or to be a change of pace. He's a very dynamic runner and I like him a lot, but if he is only on the field 50% of snaps and is more of a 1A then an "every down" back its hard for me to justify paying him every down back money. Cook was in for 48% of snaps last year, maybe for a variety of reasons but a 48% of snaps RB isn't worth Top 5 RB money no matter how good he is in those 48%. The fact is, any young talented RB is going to get some team to get pay him, David Montgomery is a 40% to 45% snap count RB and just signed for a little over 9 mil a year, and I think Cook is better than he is. So he's going to get 10 to 12 mil minimum, I wouldn't care if the Bills extended him in that range but anything higher then that would be harder to justify unless he gets better at pass blocking/receiving and can handle at least 70% of snaps. 1
RIPPA Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 The Jets have officially announced that Justin Fields is their starter Not really surprising considering the money they are giving him but would seem to scuttle the talk of them moving up to draft a QB (now one could still fall into their lap)

NoFistsJustFlips Posted March 31 Posted March 31 The discourse on social media around potentially banning the Tush Push is really annoying to me. No it's not up for getting banned to hurt The Eagles. It's up for being banned for two reasons. 1) It's borning and not in the spirit of the game. Just like extra points got moved back due to being a boring play, the Tush Push is just a boring forgone concussion thats not visually exciting. It's also not in the spirit of the game. Just handing the ball to a dude and everyone shoving him isn't professional football. It's rugby. 2) Injury concerns. This is the one pissing everyone off on Twitter. But I get it. Even if players aren't being taken out of games, it's a play where all 11 guys on both sides bash thier heads into each other every time. It's one of those war of attrition plays. How many head collisions is too many? Ban that thing and let's move on. 4

You're not supposed to be able to directly assist the dude with the ball. That's how it worked for decades. TL;DR - the Tush Push should be illegal. 5

RIPPA Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has admitted that the Deshaun Watson trade was a "big swing and a miss" Take that for what its worth but it really really does sound like Watson has played his last game for the team

Dolfan in NYC Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Just remember this when Pittsburgh trades six 1's to Tennessee or Cleveland when Rodgers (or more accurately, the purple dragon that lives on Aaron's shoulder) tells them No. Â 1

You're not supposed to be able to directly assist the dude with the ball. That's how it worked for decades. TL;DR - the Tush Push should be illegal. The problem with that is, they aren't discussing getting rid of helping assist the dude with the ball, the way the committee has phrased the banning of the tush push is strictly for that. They aren't talking about banning offensive linemen pushing the RBs downfield like we saw quite a bit of last year. There are no rules you can't push the ball carrier which is all the tush push does. So that's why Eagles fans are mad, because of the fake reason of the risk of injury (since there hasn't really been any or any proof it causes more injuries than a typical QB Sneak), and the rule is being crafted in such a way to literally only ban the tush push, not assisting ball carriers in general by pushing them. Personally I don't care either way, teams will adjust and find something else productive to do. But they should just be upfront about the reason - one team got really really good at something that isn't against the rules that any team could also do if they wanted to, and the other teams don't like it. 2
Brian Fowler Posted April 1 Posted April 1 The proposed ban definitely feels like it's specifically targeted at Philly (and to a lesser extent Buffalo) out of jealousy more than actual concern of injuries, no matter how much they try to say it. It was an odd rule change when they legalized pushing the ball carrier forward, and now that they are dealing with unintended consequences they want to whine. That said, I'm not an Eagles or Bills fan, so fuck it, I don't actually care if it does get banned.
odessasteps Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Did the Fridge once try to carry Payton into the end zone?Â
dogwelder Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Now I'm wondering if NFL rules would allow a ball carrier to be carried himself by several other players a la calvary battle/kibasen, although it would be hard to do during an actual game. 1

I think the way the rule is phrased right now a player can't be pulled or carried, only pushed. Course we've seen running backs get pulled and no flag was thrown, its not the most enforced rule but technically no you can't carry people like that as funny as it would look.
