Kevin Wilson Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 Bills went into the offseason with four major contributors up for extensions as they were going into the last year of their contracts. Today they extended Greg Rousseau for 4 years/80 million which makes two of the four extended (they already extended Bernard). Smart of them to get these done before FA starts so they have a clearer picture of what money they have/their needs, and of course also before the draft. I think Groot could have gotten more in FA based on some of the other DE contracts signed in the last couple years, its not "cheap" but it does seem team friendly in the big picture, now he just needs to be more consistent. The other two are Benford and Cook which will probably be trickier, as both may be looking for Top 5 money at their position, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't reach a deal with those two and they just play out their last year.
Kevin Wilson Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 This is why I don't take players seriously, at the end of the day its just about money. And I'm not saying it shouldn't be! Money is great, I love money. But don't try to sell 'I want to leave to go somewhere competitive' and then re-sign with a team that absolutely won't be that for several years. 1
Tabe Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 Man, Aidan Hutchinson is going to be soooooooooo rich... 1
dogwelder Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 Seattle trade DK Metcalf to the Steelers for a second round pick and a swap of sixth and seventh round picks. Steelers subsequently sign Metcalf to new 5 years, $150 million contract.

hammerva Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Man I just hope DK doesn't knock Pickens out before the season end. I wouldn't put it past him or blame him frankly
Kevin Wilson Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Bills release Von Miller. Had to be done for cap reasons, everyone knew it was coming. Rumor is they are open to re-signing him but I'm sure he'll explore around (as he should) for the best deal as it may be the last contract he signs and the Bills will look around also. I don't think they'd re-sign him unless it was something like 1 year/5 mil with incentives and he can probably get something better out there.
RIPPA Posted March 10, 2025 Author Posted March 10, 2025 There are a lot of dumb contracts being handed out and amazingly the Giants haven’t given one of them out… yet

It initially sounded a little high but I knew the dam was going to break soon as FA started. With the cap going up as much as it did, I knew players were going to get paid. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Alix Earle gets to film her TikToks in Houston next season.
RIPPA Posted March 10, 2025 Author Posted March 10, 2025 Looks like the first QB domino has fallen Sam Darnold to Seattle
Brian Fowler Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Really looking like Rodgers to Pittsburgh could be real 1 1

NoFistsJustFlips Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Sam Darnold has no one left to throw to so I can't see that going well. Both Darnold & Fields' deals came in lower than I was expect. 33 a year for Darnold and only 20 a year for Fields. Rodgers & Wilson are the only big name free agent QBs left now. With Kirk Cousins being available via trade I'm sure. The Giants are going to do something really dumb at QB here soon. I can just feel it.

Lockett was washed and DK's name is better than his play. They still have the best receiver on the team and a duo of good runningbacks. If they can block, they won't miss the receivers...but they could barely block last season.
hammerva Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 Seriously people trying to tell Rodgers is a better option than Russell Wilson for the Steelers have the worst case of recency bias ever. Congratulations your last three games were good performance against bad teams. now show me the other 90% of the season So not only are we going to be an 8 to 9 win team limping to the wild card and get destroyed, we have to do it with an asshole who cares more about the MCafee show then winning 1
Brian Fowler Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 You could start filling a full lineup just with the number of picks Laremy Tunsil has been traded for in his career. 1

Still, it's a far far cry from Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockensen.

That reminds me - the full trade is Washington gets Tunsil and a 4th rounder this year Houston gets a 3rd and 7th this year and a 2nd and 4th next year
