Cobra Commander Posted February 14, 2025 Posted February 14, 2025 I think the blowback would have been different if they were winning while playing a more pass-heavy type of football than the normal team.. so if there was blowback for the recent stylings, it involved people who liked that sort of football not accepting the Chiefs as being part of that club so after the SB, you get people talking about how little the Chiefs ran as if they weren't down double digits after running like 8 plays
Dolfan in NYC Posted February 16, 2025 Posted February 16, 2025 New Orleans is expected to release Taysom Hill. This will save them about $10m in cap space.
RIPPA Posted February 16, 2025 Author Posted February 16, 2025 Kansas City has given Travis Kelce a March 14 deadline to inform them if he is retiring or not Kelce is due a $11.5 million bonus on March 15 and free agency starts on March 10 hence why the Chiefs are trying to figure out what the fuck he is doing

Apparently, Andy Reid has realized that relying on a 500-year old TE as your primary offensive weapon is a bad idea.
dogwelder Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 Florio on PFT suggests that the Browns may try to unload Deshaun Watson as part of any trade for Myles Garrett. I'm not sure I'd do that trade, even if it was straight up just the two players and no draft picks being exchanged.

For the record - this is another Florio randomly throws shit out and then reports on it like it is a story. There is no actual "the Browns are asking for teams to take Watson" stuff. It has all been created by Florio Original story - https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/heres-a-myles-garett-trade-scenario-that-would-solve-clevelands-biggest-problem Quote Defensive end Myles Garrett wants out of Cleveland. And he has yet to relent on his trade demand. While Browns owner Jimmy Haslam might decide to dig in his heels and refuse to give Garrett what he wants, there’s a way to eliminate a pair of massive headaches with one pill. The message would go like this: “If you want Myles Garrett, you have to take Deshaun Watson.” -------------- And, yes, Watson has a no-trade clause. But if he still gets his money and if it gets him out of Cleveland and ultimately to free agency in 2026, he’d surely consider it. Regardless, this might be the kind of outside-the-box approach needed to pry Garrett away from the Browns. If, of course, the Browns are willing both to move on from Garrett and to finally admit to themselves and everyone else that the 2022 trade for Watson was and is the worst trade-and-sign of the salary-cap era, and possibly the single worst transaction in NFL history. Which of course - lead to him doing a segment on his show about it AND THEN a story about talking about it on the TV show https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/looking-at-the-cap-consequences-of-a-myles-garrett-plus-deshaun-watson-trade Florio is just as bad as ESPN in creating his own news cycle 2

Over the last two seasons combined, Lawrence threw 4 more touchdowns and twice as many picks as Aaron Rodgers. And Rodgers didn't even play one of those years. And people trashed his play. Lawrence has never thrown more than 25 TDs. 1 of every 40 passes he throws gets picked. He has a career 85 QB rating. That's 14 points lower than Deshaun Watson's and not that much above what Watson has done the last two years as a godawful quarterback. I get that he's had a terrible situation in Jacksonville at times but... I think so…the Jags for now are a dumpster fire overshadowed only by the Browns and Urban Meyer is as big of a creep as Deshaun Watson if you ask me.
Dolfan in NYC Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 I'm not about to feel bad for Steelers fans, but this is about as close as I'll get: Pittsburgh is looking at bringing in Daniel Jones to run Art Smith's offense. 2

Solidifies my opinion the Bills won't make any big moves in FAs on the offensive side unless they are fill-in pieces. Also curious to see the final numbers as agents tend to round up by saying the max value.
RIPPA Posted February 25, 2025 Author Posted February 25, 2025 Jason Peters has retired He apparently has been hired to be a member of the Seahawks front office
Tabe Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 The NFLPA has released their annual survey. Turns out public shaming is effective with no teams getting D ratings this year.
Dolfan in NYC Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 Sounds like the NFL is going to implement digital measurements. The down marker crew will stay in place, but measurements will no longer involve them coming out onto the field. Guessing this is the pre-cursor(?) to electronic spotting.

They basically said they did this last year too, but it was just "in the background." Around week 10 or so I pointed out to my brother that I watch five or six NFL games a week and couldn't recall the chain gang ever coming out and doing a measurement, they definitely went digital last year in 99% of cases. I guess it worked well enough they don't mind announcing it now. In the 'old days' they'd measure anything under a yard (especially if the coach asked for it) but I guess they decided that was a time waster.

I mean in what school can getting two F (New England) getting you a passing grade. The Steelers got at least 2 D's of them. And kind of funny that you can be 30th in the league and be a C+.
