I just saw our local regal is showing Re Animator Monday night. Very tempting since I have the night off.

Do it. I can't remember if I've caught it or not; there are so many classics I caught in past years between the Art and revival screenings that I sometimes only get reminded by Facebook memories. I mean, I got to see Texas Chainsaw 2, and I think it was in a multiplex. I got to see frickin' NEKROMANTIK.

I could barely handle Necromantik on grainy VHS back in the 90s, I don't even want to think about it on the big screen.

It was a big-time "OH, SHIT" moment because it was a surprise entrant at the annual Halloween all-nite horror fest. We got some weird ones, like Patrick, and Psychos in Love. Nekromantik was booked I'm sure because the lady behind it was a director of extreme horror stuff like the August Underground films and whatever gross torture porn is cooking under the surface out there. She's cool as fuck but I seriously question her interest in that stuff.

God, no. They cannot possibly go the route of part 2 being a parody of modern culture now, can they? How do you satirize this hellscape?

Totally down for a dark-ass Ghoulies with practical effects that leans into the corny fake Satanism and has a bunch of cool kills.

Blumhouse has acquired the rights to the Saw IP.   So that puts the franchise back under James Wan's control.

Hit the music...

🎶...never fear we got stories for years... like, Jigsaw becomes a robot!

Sticking this here to remind me that I really need to WATCH MORE JEAN ROLLIN. (Fascination and The Grapes of Death are two of my favorite horror films and I have no idea why I haven't seen anything else that I can recall of his.)

I think I saw a bunch of Rollin on Shudder recently while I was browsing.

Cool, if any of it's still on Netflix then there we go.

I'm 99% sure I've seen The Living Dead Girl too, at my friend's house totally plastered... on Netflix.

EDIT: Yeah not a shred of it on Netflix
