We know ESPN has been paying over $500 million and wanted to renegotiate down to $200 million, and the report also says NBC is offering a lot less than ESPN has been paying. 

So baseball is the one sport that isn't getting escalating rights, or the rights bubble is popping before our eyes in real time.

I was lucky to have worked with Rick for a few years. Got to do some fun stories with him. He and I won a regional Emmy together a few years ago on a story I'm really proud of. I was at the 2013 FInal Four with Rick and saw Victor Oladipo geek out on seeing Rick like he was seeing a big time celebrity.

The price on Sportsnet+ is being raised to C$324.99  (Up 80) in September.  

I'm assuming this is to fund their "Good Riddance Don Cherry" party. 

If that includes all jays, leafs, raptors and TFC games, it’s not as bad a deal as it could be.

FS1 has overhauled its lineup again

3 shows were cancelled with the biggest news being Joy Taylor is out of the network

Her show Speak is one of the three shows cancelled - the Breakfast Ball and The Facility are the other two cancelled

Tangential to that - speculation is that Craig Carton will end up back on WFAN because of course that piece of shit will

The other big news I guess is that they might create a new show for Tony Reali of Around the Horn fame.

It's like they saw the horrific response to Pat McAfee being all over ESPN and thought... "us too!"  

Seriously... Portnoy was being interviewed by NPR, I think.  And unprompted he brought up Deadspin and getting turfed from there.  It's amazing to me how fucking obsessed he still is with them (and the Defector staff who left there). 

He's just the worst. 

They had already have Clay Travis on their morning football shows.  I guess they need Portnoy to complete the circle.  At this rate I expect them to replace Matt Leinhart (think he is still there) with RG3

I guess it's a good thing ESPN covered the ESPYs by talking about how Lee Corso gave a "heartfelt" speech. God knows he can't feel it in his face after all that plastic surgery.

I watched bit and pieces of the Shane Gillis opening bit and boy it sure did feel like that crowd wanted no part of some of them jokes.   Also seemed like he wasn't overly confident with his own material unless his style is that fucking awkward

I'm not sure if it's the fact that the "bro-sphere" doesn't click with me or if I'm just too old to enjoy younger comedians, but I've never seen his appeal.

I couldn't give two shits about KillTony or his minions.

And don't get me started on Rogan's "stand up".
