This is one of those "big deals" so I'm putting it here instead of just the baseball thread where it will get lost:

If they sell it, then can T-Mobile pretty please cut a deal with NBA for league pass as a replacement perk?

I'm gonna be fucking annoyed if it fucks with the way the broadcast markets work or fucks with the Season streaming package.

Katie Strang from the Athletic is reporting that Pat McAfee amplified a completely untrue rumor about a girl at Ole Miss who has subsequently had her life 'destroyed.'

This was during a segment with Adam Schefter talking about Jaxson Dart.  The girl in question allegedly cheated on Dart with his father and though she is never mentioned by name, McAfee left more than enough breadcrumbs to identify her.

She's been harrassed, SWAT'ed, etc. etc.  Just awful stuff.

I'm not sure why other than "they're abjectly stupid", but Barstool apparently decided to amplify these rumors.  And she's now lawyered up and suing fucking everybody.

So, if you ever want to see 3/4 of the Barstool chuds apologizing like little children, this was your week.

This is New York specific but

Kenny Albert is replacing my former Little League Baseball announcer, Sam Rosen, as voice of the Rangers

Granted that is from the New York Post but they tend to be accurate regarding the NY media stuff

I mean wasn't this pretty much common knowledge along the lines of Dan Dunleavy taking over for RJ when he retired?

She may be already, but I hope she's suing McAffee, too. And fuck ESPN and WWE for still giving him a platform after that shit. People have been fired for saying less on tv.

I still contend that the only reason that Portnoy and Barstool is apologizing as much as they are doing is because Dave can't afford a really huge lawsuit right now.  He has openly admitted that he lost hundreds of millions in the last month because of the chaos caused by Trump and his tariff stuff.  I am sure the last thing he wants is to deal with this now.   Now McAfee on the other hand has ESPN money, his own show money, and hell if it gets desperate  I am sure TKO would throw some money to help him.

I'm honestly going to miss the energy he brought to that show, but it was getting sad to watch him.

I don't think I can handle another season with McAfee on there.

Rece Davis and ESPN are being investigated by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. On College GameDay, Davis called a betting pick "a no-risk investment" and that's highly illegal. Davis got talked to and tried to walk it back on air. That could result in ESPN Bet losing their gambling license. Likely nothing will happen but we're bound to see some fallout eventually from all this gambling nonsense integrated into our sports broadcasts.

Paul Heyman's taking it upon himself to make sure Pat McAfee gets fired, we thank him for the mitzvah:

Putting this here for... reasons

Jay Feely (the former kicker) is leaving CBS Sports to run for the House of Representatives in Arizona

I'll put this as neutrally as I can, (Dolphins Legend~) Jay Feely is running in AZ-5. He is also running as a Republican. Which means, unless the incumbent (Andy Biggs) retires or dies, he has no chance whatsoever.

Biggs is very powerful within the conference, is the head of the Freedom Caucus, and has run for Speaker before.

[EDIT - Biggs is apparently retiring from Congress to run for Governor. So, forget what I said up there.  If Feely wins the primary, he's probably going to be a Congressman.]

Thanks.  I didn't even know the plus version existed until a couple days ago.  I like the idea of going sans cable but have used the regular app and signed in with my mom's Xfinity account all this time.  So thankfully no issues here!

But it doesn't surprise me that MASN had a clerical error like that.  They fucking suck and I would love nothing more for the O's and Nats to get the fuck away from them.

It's really crazy how quickly all of these local TV deals fell apart.  They were making so much money until they weren't.

Very strange last 2 days for Meadowlark Media.  Yesterday it was announced that John Skipper who I always thought was the money mark for lack of a better term was leaving.  Now there is talk about Stugotz "stepping back".  Whatever that means.  This and basically every woman who was on the show in the last 4 months has moved on to their own thing

How much more of a step back can Stugotz possibly take.  He's been off the air for most of the year.  Lucy and Jessica both seemed to absolutely hate living in Miami, but from what I understand both of them still work there but will be working from elsewhere.  I would listen to a Foot-girls pod, but that show definitely needs a female voice or two.
