2025 STUFF ABOUT SPORTS MEDIA THREAD

Featured Replies

I needed something to start the new thread so here if you haven't seen it. Yahoo showed a video of all the graphics they made that weren't used (basically because the person/team lost)

Now I know Gonzo has me on ignore

meanwhile the side story in the Skip lawsuit involves accusations of Joy Taylor getting her job through.. let's just say... good relations with others in the office.. to the point of drawing Emmanuel Acho into the mix (in other words, the lawsuit accuses an FS1 boss of picking Joy Taylor for Skip and Shannon Undisputed because the boss was fucking Joy.

I'm not directly repeating the "Joy Taylor fucked her way into her job(s)" thing since there is a certain amount of power imbalance to keep in mind.

So... sports media... it might just be as creepy as other forms of entertainment

Meanwhile Acho is putting a shredder to his social media history.  As expected it isn't working.

CertaInly not surprising. One former (?) NFL reporter/host was allegedly nicknamed "Hoover" for her ... skills.

My actual excuse has to do with basic illiteracy more than anything.

Which I think is actually worse.

anyways, one of the takes I read from an internet rando is about the impact of the Joy Taylor thing on women in sports

maybe one of these days a story involving an executive giving favors in exchange for sex will impact the ability of men to successfully do that

My main take away is that the going rate for Skip Bayless getting laid is 1.5m is he that insufferable in person?

also, if you remember what got Eliot Spitzer in trouble (suspicious bank transfers), I don't think Skip had a plan to pay someone $1.5M without it setting off alarm bells somewhere, which means the most likely scenario if he had actually gotten what he wanted is that he would have had the sex and then screwed that woman out of money

I'm all about believing victims and trusting the process, but that lawsuit seems to be based on many things that will have a hard time being proven. Also, nothing is less surprising than the fact that of all the bad-behaving men in the lawsuit, the only person really getting any grief is a woman.

I'm honestly just surprised that Colin Cowherd got name dropped in the lawsuit, but is apparently not a p.o.s.

Well, not about this anyway.

I heard not good things during his espn radio days. "Just" jerk behavior.

The things I've heard are less jerk behavior and more, "what the hell is wrong with that guy" behavior.  They're cousins, but one tends to be malicious and the other is not.  I've heard multiple things about him being strange but I don't think I've ever heard of him being malicious.

Cowherd feels like the kind of person who sees a women in a really short skirt and his only complaint is that it doesn't fit the weather

The ones who are either defending Skip, Acho, and others or just considering the lawsuit as nothing are pretty much the ones you would expect to defend when a sexual harassment/assault case in sports comes up

Who could have ever seen this coming

This really doesn't fit anywhere in particular, but the 12 LA sports teams have pledged to donate a total of $8 million to disaster relief funds.

Just a reminder that the Rams, Chargers, Lakers, Clippers, and Dodgers by themselves are worth more than $30 billion dollars

It has been reported that Ballmer gave $15 million so it is technically only 11 LA sports teams that combined to give $8 million.

Rippa had posted in last year's thread about the voice of Navy athletics (among other things) Pete Medhurst battling cancer.  Well sad news:

This sucks so much

  • 2 weeks later...

The Dodgers have pledged $100 million

  • 2 weeks later...

YouTube TV has dropped CBS & other Paramount channels after failing to reach an agreement.

March Madness starts in 4 weeks, so that's a pretty big Sword of Damocles here.
