The casting speculation will be the most enjoyable part of this new street fighter movie. I mean I hope it’s great but I just don’t expect it to be.

FYI the casting isn't speculation, all of this is coming from Hollywood trades.

Except Cody Rhodes, actually. But that same place did have casting rumors that turned out to be true.

Do they go dark and gritty or live action cartoon?

Mortal Kombat has the dark & gritty market cornered, I suspect this Street Fighter movie would go in the opposite direction and just be bright and silly and fun.

Books will someday be written about Chris Pratt and how whitebread and pablum a human being can possibly get:

This movie will make at least half a billion dollars and no one will ever speak of it again a month after its release.

You are 1000% correct on this.  We saw Garfield in the theater (I blame my daughter) and I legit forgot it existed not long after.  She mentioned the Garfield movie last month and I was just like “wuh?”

My worst theater going experience in recent memory had a kid meowing like a cat loudly during the first Garfield Movie. The things I do for my Letterboxd account.... 😉

I've always thought that Chris Pratt was probably exactly like his character on Parks and Rec in real life.

No, that character seemed fun to be around.

He always seemed like A List Kirk Cameron to me.

This is probably going to end up being false, but Fightful is saying they've been told that Hirooki Goto is playing E. Honda in the Street Fighter movie.

Guy Ritchie will no longer direct Road House 2

No reason was given for his leaving nor was a replacement named

Deadline reported this today, along with Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalism.

Evidently Nintendo has their leads for the LOZ movie that's supposed to come out in a couple of years. Must be a pair of dream jobs: one role that's in the title and crucially important but appears on-screen for 46 femtoseconds, and the other who's there all the time but never utters a word besides "Ggghh!" and "Hyah!"

A teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's THE ODYSSEY that I cannot find online played with IMAX screenings of Superman.

Notably, it premieres 7/17/2026.  And...  the tickets on sale for the NYC Lincoln Square IMAX got put on sale this morning.

All screenings sold out in under 3 minutes.

I've never seen any of these movies, but I'll forever thank them for making the second movie and this one because we got a Daft Punk album and now a NIN album out of 'em. And the NIN one has vocals! So it's basically a new album.

Cole Young needs to receive a Fatality, Flawless Victory in the first minute.

The rumor is that he either gets killed very early on, or he's not the main character this time around and it focuses more on the tournament and/or Johnny Cage. I'll still watch it regardless because I actually liked the first movie.

Yeah, between the real trailer and the "teaser" yesterday, MK2 is going to be the Johnny Cage show staring Johnny Cage, featuring Johnny Cage and friends.  I'm guessing Cole plays the Cage roll from Annihilation and getting offed in the first 5 minutes to put over Shao Khan as the heavy.

I liked Mortal Kombat (2021). Kano carried it big time, so funny then Scorpion/Sub-Zero. Glad Johnny Cage is in this and looks to be the star, he was sorely missed in the first film. Hope and expect what you say happens to Cole Young. Mortal Kombat (1995) is by far my favourite MK film.
