It will be directed by Paul Downs Colaizzo (Brittany Runs A Marathon) A24 Movie Alert! Brad Pitt will start in The Riders which is based on Tim Winton’s 1994 novel of the same name. It will be directed by Edward Berger (Conclave) Any chance Winter Games is based on the old Commodore 64 game? I mean they're making an OutRun movie why not Epyx Winter Games The Movie. If you want to see a pretty good movie shot at the actual 2018 Winter Games check out Olympic Dreams, it's currently on Kanopy. 3
RIPPA Posted May 1, 2025 Author Posted May 1, 2025 Per Variety Adam Pearson has agreed to star in a film adaptation of The Elephant Man https://variety.com/2025/film/news/adam-pearson-new-elephant-man-adaptation-1236381859/ Quote With this production, Adam Pearson will become the first disabled actor to play Joseph Merrick on screen. In a statement, Pearson said, “Joseph Merrick is a man I have a long and complex relationship with. From having his name used as a term of derision to learning about the man himself in documentaries I’ve presented. It’s been a cathartic journey of growing to love and respect a man who I as a child I avoided even thinking about. Now as a disability advocate and actor, I can think of no greater honour (yet heavy responsibility) than to tell the true story of Joseph Carey Merrick.” 1

If they don't "Karate Kid Legends" this shit and not have Keitel and Nicholas Cage show up, why go see it? And if they are going to make a franchise out of Abel Ferrara movies, where is King of New York II and Ms. 45 II? 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 HIGHEST 2 LOWEST Starring Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and A$AP Rocky Directed by Spike Lee(!) --- The fun part of this was Spike tweeted this morning that the teaser was coming out tomorrow. Then he just posted it on Instagram. I guess at that point A24's Marketing Dept just threw their hands up. 1 1

All I can think of is Harvey Keitel as an unrepentant degenerate gambler, jerking off into the window onto some girls he just pulled over, falling worse into addiction and slowly unraveling in general. Somehow I don't think this will be that. I hope this is a crazy action movie because I love when sequels totally change genres, like First Blood was a story about PTSD and our disregard for vets, while Rambo & Rambo 2 are MURICAAAAA action films.

Well, to be fair, Rambo 2 was still about disregard for vets, just with more explosions and less PTSD. 1 1

Spoiler Everyone in the movie uses cocaine! It's not just one guy standing naked and crying in his living room, it's two! Nicholas Cage and Harvey Keitel show up at the end and say, "He was a....Bad Lieutenant." "Yeah, let's do some cocaine!" with Toto's "Hold The Line" as the ending credit song. 1 1
Curt McGirt Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 (edited) Miike walks in off-screen to tell Keitel (in Japanese) who is freebasing "You know, that's stuff's gonna kill you" and Keitel looks at Nic and says "Shut up! You're not a drug counsellor", then they both look at Miike and yell "YOU'RE A DRUG DEALER!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" And then they all three laugh and proceed to keep hitting the pipe. Andrew POE! Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 A neo-noir with Margaret Qualley is not something I thought would be possible post-Death Stranding / post-The Substance. Drive Away Dolls was okay but people didn't like it. Honey Don't looks like a more quirky version of Under The Silver Lake.

Very tempting since I have the night off. My local (-ish, 15 minutes, non-highway) Regal closed down in December. It was the last non-fancy theater close enough to me. All I have now are highway drives to two different, pricey "reclining seats and full menu" monstrosities. I just want to watch a movie, not have a "premium experience." hammerva Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 (edited) Apparently there is a movie coming out probably in 2026 based on John Madden (staring Nicholas Cage). Cage needs about 20 more pounds but I could figure he could play the character of Madden well. Also showing Al Davis being played by Christian Bale which man that sounds interesting https://x.com/HollywoodHandle/status/1922469556473200917 Edited May 14, 2025 by hammerva
stuntmanc Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 I saw that news and my first thought was that i wanted to see both actors, play both roles. Give me a Face/Off sort of switch midway so i can also see Cage play Davis/Bale play Madden. 2
