Curt McGirt Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Apparently it was a huge hit in Germany (?!). I vaguely remember watching it with my parents on rental. Sometimes I'd just catch movies that way, like Death Becomes Her, or Ghost. (obviously this was around '89/90)
RIPPA Posted April 16, 2025 Author Posted April 16, 2025 You have to remember that War of the Roses was a big deal at the time because it was the third Kathleen Turner/Michael Douglas movie (after Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile) It might have been the first "dark comedy" I ever saw (I am trying to remember one I might have seen before War of the Roses and am drawing a blank but it was also like 40 fucking years ago)

I'm gonna go with the worst possible idea being the priest (or somebody) kept Rage virus blood and unleashes it to restart the apocalypse. Or it busts out of a lab or something equally stupid. "We kept them as test subjects and kept feeding them, but one escaped!" They are better writers than that however. I hope. In Mira Grant's "Newsflesh" series, it does turn out that the government keep reinfecting people, because they like the facism it lets them do. 1
