2+ years as champ, and Athena's unlocked Roman Reigns-level gaslighting ability:

Good for her!

First Honor of 2025!

Glad we get another HANAKO match in. Good opener from her and Red Velvet for the Women's TV title, and a later setup for a future Red/Hirsch rematch.

Great to also get another Homicide match, solid tag from him & Rocky against Andretti & Lio ahead of Andretti & Lio challenging for the AEW tag titles on Collision.

Nice quick win from Harley Cameron over Ashley Vox.  Shane Taylor Promotions vs. Dark Order & Iron Savages felt like a random mixture, but solid.

Throwback match of the week is Athena/Willow from Death before Dishonor 2023

Pretty good main event as QT Marshall goes the proving grounds limit with Komander to earn a TV title shot.

Only now getting to Final Battle 2024! Dark Order vs GYV on Zero Hour? That's pretty high level tag match for a pre-show, but it's not like I'm going to complain!

Main Event Harley Cameron vs Hanako also on pre-show? Now I may be offended!

Kingdom vs Infantry in a role reversal match from the last time! Ok, so when the hell did Trish Adora get HOT?!? She's been talented all along, but this look F'n WORKS!

More tag teams with GoA and LeeJ! I think James Drake of GYV has very similar physique and size as me, but obviously I'd love to say Bishop Kaun does! Yeah, probably not. Good action here, as well! Holy Double Turn, Batman!

The opener proper was entertaining stuff, Danhausen is back!

Yeah, the new Dynamite Kid is definitely staying away from steroids! Good for him! Who's Shibata's dad, by the way?

Sensational Karen Jarrett?!? Now there's a fantastic homage, if there ever was one! Double J is here! Yes! Was it said (not here but before) that QT won (or placed) in a bodybuilding competition a month or so ago? He's gotten into a wonderful shape, but what the hell kinda competition was that? Very entertaining match, though! But it took 2 Lethal Injections to beat QT? The fuck outta here!

A Red Velvet heel turn?!? OK, that one I did NOT see coming! This was getting really good by the end, Leyla's wardrobe troubles notwithstanding. She pulled up her pants like 5 times early in the match! I guess getting the wrench is poetic justice from 2-3 years ago? Statlander says Hi!

Holy motherfucking shit! It's Nigel!!! WTF am I watching! Oh shit! This is wonderful! Man, that was worth the price of the PPV alone!

The double bullrope match was way less bloody than I thought it would be (zero?!?), but still good action! At the risk of annoying @The Natural, why in the hell would you want to punch that beautiful face of Sammy Guevara?!? Look at that hair, at the very least! The child of Sammy and Tay must be at Ryan Reynolds-Blake Lively progeny-level beautiful! That's insane that it happened twice! Or with two beautiful enough couples!

Absolutely bat shit stuff in the Survival of the Fittest! How do you get 8 (or 9 ) pins against Cage?!? Blake Christian looks like how my youngest godchild will look like when he grows up, it's uncanny! Fuck everything, I like the shit out of Brian Cage! I do not give a shit if that's not ok! Holy shit! Kommander actually won something! Ok, I guess I am totally fine with that!

Time for the double main event! Full disclosure, it's Friday, I still have days off until next Tuesday and I'm having drinks! Matt Cardona!!! You are a good guy now? I guess PCO pushing your shit in totally changed you? Well, against this version of Jericho, I guess even that douchebag would be the face? This is some great heeling by Jericho!

As if the face wasn't enough! My hairline hates Sammy!

Trish Adora vs Harley Cameron makes a fun opener this week.  Blake Christian over Serpentico was solid.

Boulder vs Griff Garrison was random, but good to see Cole Karter back managing Griff, his first appearance since breaking his arm last summer.

They showed clips of Athena in Japan but no mention of Momo or Athena getting pinned, only that Athena will defend against Thekla in Stardom next week. I had hoped they'd use WrestleDynasty to set up Athena/Momo too.

Queen Aminata over Rachael Ellering was short, but great while it lasted.

Throwback match of the week is Sumie Sakai vs Hazuki from July 2018 in honor of Sumie's retirement this weekend.

Some quick squashes from Billie, mXm, and Red Velvet.

Shane Taylor Promotions vs. Gates of Agony made for a real solid main event match.

Love the closing segment of the Rock N Roll Express taking out Jericho & Bryan Keith. Need a match to come out of this.

Afterwards they premiere the recent AEW Stories on Nigel McGuinness "The Road Less Traveled", a nice little 15 min documentary covering the lead up to the recent Nigel/Bryan match.

it's mostly "IN ACTION" night on Honor this week with half the matches advertised that way, a short episode at just under an hour 20.

Shibata, Komander, & the Outrunners was an interesting 8 man team against the locals.

Red Velvet over Angelica Risk was fun, bringing up them having history.

main event of Shane Taylor, Lee Moriarty, Lee Johnson, &  EJ Nduka defeating the random team of Boulder, Serpentico, & Dark Order. LeeJ fit in well with STP.

Next week is the 100th episode on Honor Club, so the throwback match of the week was the 1st match on HonorClub of Mark Briscoe vs. Slim J.  Komander defending the TV title against QT headlines ROH 100.

Long story short I fell way behind on ROH and had to catch up from early July until last night.  I skipped most matches thankfully got this done which is awesome.

In watching all these episodes I thought I would be sick of ROH but the opposite was true.  I fucking love ROH and damn near everything about it.  Others can talk best commentators but damn if Ian and Caprice aren't my favorites.  They're just two good friends talking wrestling and busting out references that make me go "Did they really?"  Then there's the format which is a mix of Dark/Elevation and the ROH goodness to have something to fight for.  For those pining for Dark/Elevation it's been here the whole damn time and it works.

I know why people are turned off from this because it's a monthly fee to watch a mix of squash matches and stuff that hits the Worldwide point.  I'm not saying it's worth it for everybody but I feel those complaining about how AEW is could stand to give ROH a try for a while.  It might be what one is looking for.

AEW put up a 3 hour compiliation of every Briscoe Bros tag title win on youtube and it's absolutely tremendous.  I'm going to work through it throughout the week.  Just finished Sydal/Daniels v Briscoes.

its Honor #100!

Thought Komander defending the TV title against QT would main event since it was a title match, but instead it opens. Komander retains in a pretty fun match just under 10 minutes. Afterwards Big Shotty Lee Johnson is set up as the next challenger for next week.

Some fun squashes from Leila Grey, the Outrunners, the Beast Mortos, & Gates of Agony. Leila challenges Red Velvet for the women's TV next week, former Baddies collide.

Throwback of the week in honor of Christopher Daniels retirement is Daniels & Sydal vs CIMA & Shingo from International Challenge 2006.

Taya Valkyrie over Lady Frost was a solid 5 minutes.

Griff Garrison, Cole Karter, & Preston Vance is an interesting trio. Jacked Jameson pitching them on becoming "The Fraternity" was amusing.

Nice hard hitting main event from Shibata and Shane Taylor.  STP attack after the match until Daniel Garcia makes the save with Cole, Strong, & OReilly, made for a cool ending with the former ROH Champs.

Then we cut to the back for a last minute challenge setting up Takeshita vs Shibata on Collision this week!

Wait, did they split up the Iron Savages? I saw Boulder was doing random stuff in a plain singlet so if this happened too it seems that way. It's a shame as them turning heel hurt the trio a lot. If they stayed faces and won a bit they might have had something.

Bronson had some herniated disc back injury at the end of 2024, so it may just be temporary, but agreed.

Is Slim J still showing up or was that a one-off?

He was there until he got fired in April.  If he shows up again it's likely as a one-off.

I randomly ventured over here and find out that SLIM J CAME BACK, AND NO ONE MENTIONED IT OVER IN THE AEW THREADS?! This is important news! I really wish ROH was more easily accessible. Next, y'all are going to say favorites like Faboo Andre and Baron Black are back.

The Varsity Blonds/Factory/Dark Order? Is ROH the modern WaR?

Queen Aminata looks good as usual in action over Allysin Kay.

Big Shotty goes the 10 minute Proving Grounds time limit with Komander to earn a TV title shot.

Serpentico/Brandon Cutler a rivalry renewed was a fun little match.

they say TV Title is the theme of this week, so the throwback match is a Samoa Joe TV defense over Tony Deppen a couple years ago from Honor Club episode 2.

Red Velvet defends the women's TV over Leila Grey in a pretty quick solid main event. Another shorter episode this week going a little over 1 hour.

A series of competitive squashes from Blake Christian, Griff Garrison/Preston Vance, Lee Johnson, and then Athena smashes Carolina Cruz.

Sammy Guevara vs. Mansoor was pretty good.  Great to see Robyn Renegade back after missing the past few months, fun match with Red Velvet for the women's TV title.

Solid 4 way tag main event sees the Outrunners over Premier Athletes, Grizzled Young Vets, & Dark Order.  No weekly throwback this week, another pretty quick episode.

Next week ROH will air matches from the Jericho Cruise!

It's ROH from the Jericho Cruise! Awesome unique atmosphere venue. Good use of the footage this year to make a little episode out of it.

Fun matches all around from Jay Lethal/Mason Madden, Takeshita/Tommy Billington, Outrunners over GYV, Ricochet over Serpentico and Harley Cameron getting the big win over Billie Starkz.

Love the setup for a Serena Deeb/Queen Aminata pure rules match.  Great main event of Komander retaining the TV title over Nick Wayne.

ROH will be taping while they're in Australia for Grand Slam, which is advertised as AEW/ROH Global Wars Australia. Currently announced is Athena defending against Alex Windsor, Dustin/Sammy defend against mXm collection, Lee Moriarty defending the Pure against Robbie Eagles, and the Learning Tree vs. Bandido & the Outrunners.

Honor on a Monday! it's Global Wars Australia

Bandido & The Outrunners vs the Learning Tree was a blast as opener. Crowd loved Big Bill. Bandido pins the champ!

Really good Pure title match from Lee Moriarty vs. Robbie Eagles, some great near falls before Lee uses the ropes to retain.

Dustin & Sammy over MxM was a fun tag title defense.  and a Mark Davis squash fit in.

Pretty good main event from Athena vs Alex Windsor. I liked having Momo Watanabe in the crowd with some focus on that, so it seems they might come back around to Momo challenging Athena.

Back to regular Honor. Wheeler Yuta squashes Fuego del Sol then chokes him out with a steel chain, thought they would've got a little more time.

Abadon's finally back after another few months with a quick win over Rachael Ellering.

Griff Garrison, Preston Vance, Cole Karter, & Jacked Jameson are now officially "The Frat House". They team up with Premier Athletes in a loss to the Outrunners, Top Flight, & the returning Von Erichs. Fun 12 man tag.

Squashes from Billie Starkz and the Gates of Agony.

Excellent TV title defense from Komander vs. Lee Johnson. Almost felt a title change was possible.

Lucha trios match was a pretty fun main event. MxM cost Sammy Guevara the match, then Mansoor gets taken out for it in the post match. Sammy treating CMLL Fuego as if he was Fuego Del Sol was amusing.

Lucha night on Honor this week. Lucha trios opening and closing the show. The opener was a fun quick one with Atlantis Sr while Atlantis Jr. was in the main event one. Main event was awesome with a handful of wild spots.

La Catalina beat Lady Frost in a good little match where both looked great. Catalina gets a shot at the title next week. Nice backstage promo from Athena later on.

Squashes from the Infantry and Beast Mortos.  Blake Christian beat Fuego del Sol. Fuego had been tweeting about this possibly being his last time in an AEW/ROH ring.

Gravity returned and lost to Dark Panther in a nice showcase.

This week opens with a Learning Tree backstage seg. Jericho bringing up Big Bill & Bryan Keith losing their matches, warning them to do better or lose their opportunities.

Really good opener with Athena retaining over La Catalina.

a rare Satnam Singh appearance for a tag squash with Lethal. More squashes from Billie, Dustin & Sammy, Beast Mortos, & Thunder Rosa

Bandido & Gravity made a fun team defeating the Infantry. The Learning Tree attack afterwards and Jericho lays out Gravity & Bandido with the title so I guess that feud might continue.

Gates of Agony over Bad Dude Tito & Che Cabrera was pretty good.

Awesome to have Blue Panther on for this week's lucha trios main event, that ruled.

Some decent competitive squashes to start. Leila Grey/Lady Frost was a solid under 5 minute match.

Top Flight/Gates of Agony over Premiere Athletes/Frat House was fun.  Dark Panther wipes out Aaron Solo and challenges Komander for the TV title next week.

Shibata/Lee Johnson was pretty good.  Another nice lucha trios main event, Mistico is the highlight star in this one.
