Cliff Hanger Posted January 2 Posted January 2 PS+ Essential games for January are: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered Looks like we have colon cancer. (Dodges tomatoes) So it's one game I've played to death on PC, one game I already own on Playstation, and one game I would rather throw my PS5 away than play. Two of the three are great, but I personally will not get anything out of them and so I'm going to focus on the stupidity of ending the Arkham timeline with Batman, Superman, et al. becoming imcurably brainwashed mass murderers who can only be stopped by blowing their heads off.

I get what you're saying and all but my father-in-law died from that so I'm not a fan of this line. Instead, how about these? -Colon overload -So many colons, so little time -Wow, look at all those colons! That aside considering how poorly received the Suicide Squad game was I don't think I would even consider it for free. But Stanley Parable is a fun one. 1
Travis Sheldon Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I'll reup to PS+ when they offer Concord up as a freebie.

And sorry for reacting at it like that, time heals and all but that's still a sore spot.
kenyabaxterZXW Posted February 26 Posted February 26 (edited) PlayStation Plus: Free Games for February 2025 Payday 3 | PS5 High on Life | PS4, PS5 Pac-Man World Re-Pac | PS4, PS5 Edited February 26 by kenyabaxterZXW
kenyabaxterZXW Posted February 26 Posted February 26 PlayStation Plus: Free Games for March 2025 Dragon Age: The Veilguard | PS5 Sonic Colors: Ultimate | PS4 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection | PS4, PS5
Chaos Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I'm happy I didn't drop money on Veilguard a couple of months ago. I've played through most of the opening hours. This will motivate me to finish it. I can't recall which Sonic games people liked and didn't like. I bought cowabunga on the Switch, so it's cool to have it elsewhere.
Cliff Hanger Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 The original Wii version of Colors was beloved at the time, but my only actual exposure to it was the levels in Generations. I don't know anything about Ultimate's reputation.
SirSmUgly Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Colors is good, but the re-release was a chugging mess when it came out. I think they've fixed it by now, though. I have the Cowabunga Collection Switch card, but I won't mind downloading them onto my PS5 as well.
Cliff Hanger Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 And meanwhile I have it on PS5 disc and am happy not to have to take whatever happens to be in my disc drive anytime I want to spend 15 minutes dicking around in Manhattan Project.
Raziel Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Last I played the Colors Ultimate Edition, it was a fucking clunky mess with worse load times that the original Wii version. I haven't bothered to see if it got patched or just plays better on the PS5 instead of PS4. Otherwise, another months of shit I already have or probably will never get to (unless I use the EA Play I get with Gamepass and go back through the whole series, because I never got around to Dragon Age) 1
Kevin Wilson Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Next week, Nintendo is adding the following SNES games to Switch Online: Nobunaga's Ambition Nobunaga's Ambition: Lord of Darkness Romance of the Three Kingdoms 4: Wall of Fire Uncharted Water: New Horizons I'll be honest, I was a SNES guy and both owned games and rented many in my youth. I've never heard of any of these games. Some people online are excited about it but I can't tell if its legit excitement for the games themselves or just happy the library is expanding. Nintendo continuing to not release universally requested games even five years into this service is annoying but also very, very Nintendo. Granted, I know third party gaming rights can be complicated, I just don't know if an effort is being made or if it just isn't worth the hassle.

My brother loves real time strategy games, and all four of those are RTSes, so he played them at some point (especially the two Nobunaga's Ambition games). I'm sure he'd be thrilled by this.

These are all four historical strategy sims by Koei (long before it was Koei Tecmo) that have relatively small but absolutely rabid followings in the West. If managing a fief in Sengoku Japan and trying to do diplomacy, warfare and population management (setting taxes, etc) with a D-pad and 4 buttons instead of a keyboard and mouse sounds like your dhit, then this is the most your-shit set of games you will ever see.
SirSmUgly Posted March 21 Posted March 21 RTSes on console, though...I can't do it. I think it's neat that Nintendo is going deep on these releases, especially from some of the Japanese third parties who published with them in the early '90s.
username Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I've known some people who always spoke warmly of Uncharted Waters, can't really speak to the other three though.
COLETTI Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) Free PS+ games next month are RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. Stoked as hell for free RoboCop~!! Edited March 26 by COLETTI
Raziel Posted March 26 Posted March 26 (edited) I think RoboCop has a DLC coming soon, but the game itself was great, except for the final boss fight. Does anyone even still play TCM??? Edited March 26 by Raziel

Cliff Hanger Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 I would be a lot more annoyed about Rogue City being a subscription benefit two weeks after I bought it had I paid more than $8.99. I did the first mission yesterday and it's a pretty good "you are slow, the enemy isn't" FPS. I absolutely fucking love that the game starts with a drug dealer bragging on live TV about how addictive a drug Nuke is, and killing hostages by forcibly injecting them with an overdose, while wearing a "say no to drugs" shirt. That is the exact tone this game needed. They won't do it and they probably SHOULDN'T do it, but I'd love if the sequel brought back a villain or two from the live-ac series. Let Robo finally kill Pudface Morgan! 1
StevieNippz Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I bought Rogue City for $8.99 as well and finished it yesterday. When I saw it was going to be a free game I made a point to finish it before the month was up. It was a little buggy and a lot of the voice acting was weak but it was pretty fun. I'm very happy I didn't pay full price when it came out
Zimbra Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Balatro is one of the PS+ May games. This is going to ruin lives. Ark and WH40K:Boltgun are the other 2.
