Dexter Original Sin / Dexter Resurrection

Right. I think that was my hope for the revival. One or two normal seasons that lead into the real meat of the show a man hunt season or two then trial drama for another season leading to whatever conclussion they have planned.

No more faking deaths or trying to have him killed. The show should end with him facing some kind of consequences. Show us his trial. Show us surprise character witnesses like Cody & Astor. Show us characters from this universe on the stand struggling with acceptance and the moral grey-ness of it all.

I am somewhat surprised that the NY Ripper was not someone current. I was expecting that and also kinda happy they didn't do that because it would have been harder to explain.

This easily had the best dialogue of any season of Dexter. So many people looked like they were having fun and Michael C. Hall and James Remar were given great material to work with. 

The other really nice thing about this season is that it actually felt like real growth for Dexter. While many of those older seasons were shit, this season, and probably New Blood, showed how Dexter has evolved and what all went into that.

Was this the best series/season ever? Nah, but it didn't need to be. It just needed to be really fun and satisfying and make you want to watch more of it and it did all of those. I really hope it gets renewed and if given a second season, Paramount doesn't cancel it anyway.

Its already renewed for a Season 2 & 3. The writers room is already open for Season 2 and they're actively working on it.

I guess that was main the reason for the Original Sin cancelation. Its the same creative team. Was too taxing and Paramount wanted more Resurrection in a quicker fashion.

Good! Follow suit with The Pitt and a couple other shows that don't fuck around. Get together, get creative, and get this shit out instead of making people wait for years to get...6 to 8 episodes of something.

I started watching Res and have a real problem with it. Dexter is a goddamned serial killer, and he still has a near stranger (Blessing) be nicer and more compassionate to him than the majority of my actual friends have been to me in my life. 

I don't know if that means I'm worse than a serial killer or I just have a bunch of terrible friends.

I will say, the bit with Harrison hearing the watch seemed really obvious and hokey, until my brain found a way to mash it up more amusingly by turning it into the style of an old TV as you'd recognize: 

"E. A. Poe. It's in the floorboards!!"

Also had the random thought that someone, somewhere must have already written a novel ages ago about serial killers chumming it up.  And if that book is named anything -- ANNNNNYTHING! -- other than "Club House", then that person is a FUCKING HACK.
