Dolfan in NYC Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Yeah I think this is gonna be another one of those funky ones! Heart and soul, d-d-dance! Now, what on earth could make the terrible, horrifying members of the Elite make THESE faces? Too hot to handle, too cold to hold, they're called the Ghostbusters and they're in control! Had 'em throwin' a party for a bunch of children, all the while the slime was under the building... Blackpool Combat Club... take it away! So they packed up their group, got a grip, came equipped, grabbed their proton packs off their back and they split! Found out about Vigo, the master of evil... Try to battle my boys? That's not legal! This week, let's see if there's anyone out there (aside from John Silver) who will stand up to the BCC! Our is everyone on their own? (Thank you @tbarrie for the suggestion!) Enjoy the week! 1 1

NikoBaltimore Posted October 23 Posted October 23 I haven't seen the video in a long time but two things immediately jumped out. One was a very unfortunate cameo at 1:03 that for reasons I'm not mentioning further (and nobody else either, please) BUT the more important one at 2:17 is...wait, is that half of The Ramones on an NYC sidewalk with a tuba?! And what appears to be Joey asking for money? My goodness their cameo is number one and the best. Oh, right, Dynamite. Card looks like lots of fun with me wondering if Kamille might have her best match yet against Queen Amanita. And while Sammy will try and kill himself for Shelton it won't be as glorious as last week. But while YMMV with The Bucks that trios tag sounds like fun and feels like a natural progression to Mox's crew coming out and those involved going "Hey, Elite! Do something!" 2 2

Agreed Lio looked like a million bucks pinballing around last week, but it might be close! Sammy's a freak, too - there were a lot of butthole clenching moments in that Okada match. 1

That is 100% Joey Ramone with the tuba. Weird. Didn't remember all of the celeb cameos in that video. 1
JLowe Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Probably not watching this live but wanted to mention that the Garcia and Private Party team-up and their promos have me buying in more to Private Party. And that Quen hit all of his spots on Collision (with some obvious but needed modifications) AND the Silly String was actually timed and flowed pretty perfectly. Do I think they are a true threat to the Moxley Crew? Nope. Credible? Yeah, I can maybe go there.
Cobra Commander Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Things I Remember From This Week's Edition of AEW Dynamite: A bunch of dudes are waiting to beat Jon Moxley's ass Hangman and Jay White have problems with each other Shelton Benjamin is Deebo and he's yeeting all the small dudes in AEW. I suspect that if Lashley is debuting, it'll be during/after the Shelton/Swerve matchup next week. Fucking Chris Jericho won another title. Some gnarly bumps though. Of course he was gonna win a nonsensical rematch. How else could we get a third Jericho/Briscoe match Squashes for the Archer/Cage team (hey they found Lance Archer) and a squash for the House of Black Kamille gets a win Christian found a new underling while Killdozer is out Adam Cole is gonna try to go up to Buddy Matthews and project size? Private Party and Garcia with the big win over the Bucks So that group of dudes waited in one spot for Moxley to arrive and then Moxley's group just snuck in behind them. Basically Moxley and Friends are feuding with the dumbest jobbers in the company? I'm waiting through the commercial break because I don't know if the show is over yet. Okay, the show is over. 2
Gordi the recovering AEW f Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Fuck. it's not "Stop the Moxunaga" It's "Mox World Order" Gonna start every show with a recap of what the MWO did last week. Gonna end every show with the MWO running in and standing tall. 3
For Great Justice Posted October 24 Posted October 24 The Fletcher promo was several minutes too long, but wow he’s come a long way. The way he controlled the crowd and remained within his character was unrecognizable from even a year ago. Definitely feels like an upgrade from a “moves” guy to a potential 2025 pick to break through. Elsewhere you couldn’t have asked for a better first two weeks for Shelton Benjamin. He looks like a BIG DEAL. 7
The Natural Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Really sick and tired of Chris Jericho. Jericho needs to do what he once did in WWE, break up his appearances for a few years then return. Jericho is still getting tv time while others aren't. As soon as Ladder War was announced I knew Chris Jericho was beating Mark Briscoe for the ROH World Championship. Briscoe should have kept it. 1
Nice Guy Eddie Posted October 24 Posted October 24 If Jericho is going to have a title, it may as well be the ROH title. It's not as if the ROH titles mean anything. Hell, Brian Cage wasn't even announced as being the ROH TV champion. 1

The Natural Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) Jericho, Bucks, Cole and Perry are instant channel changers for me. Fair play to those who do like them, it's be boring if we liked/hated the same things. Edited October 24 by The Natural 1
tbarrie Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I don't know if I love it or hate it that they brought somebody in to lose a complete squash match and let him bill himself as "Pirata del Muerte". But I lean towards the former. 1 2

Zimbra Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Maybe, and I'm just spit balling here, AEW could try not portraying all of their faces as the dumbest goddamn people on the planet. Just one time, to see how it feels. 4 1 1

For Great Justice Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Someone mentioned in the Missed Opportunities thread about AEW needing to acknowledge/promo wrestlers that are cycled off the show in a given week, and it felt like they did a better job of that tonight. Tons of talent had bumpers into / out of commercials. Did they mention Darby, though? That was an odd one given the show closing angle. I was watching on mute so the announcers might have mentioned his whereabouts. 1

The Natural Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) Off the top of my head, I think 2024 AEW is the worst year of AEW's five. Edited October 24 by The Natural 2
For Great Justice Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I skip Cole segments, so could someone walk me through this whole thing? - When we last left off, MJF was the face and Cole + UK are the heels - While Cole is away, MJF turns back heel - Cole returns as a face. UK says they are going their own way - UK comes back the next week and joins Cole…as faces. That right? So presumably we are picking right back up where we left off, with the roles reversed, but no narrative reason as to why the roles have reversed? 2
