Dolfan in NYC Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Eh, tonight's game is gonna suck anyway. Gronk has been confirmed as having a torn ACL. He is done for the season. And all of the sudden, the Dolphins/Patriots game on Sunday got a lot more interesting.
Craig H Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Jesus, for as much of a physical freak Gronk is, he sure is fragile. You'll be missed, big guy.
glfpunk Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Did you see the hit? I wouldn't attribute the injury to bring fragile.
Craig H Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I did, but I'm just bringing to mind how long he's been on the bench. When he's on the field, he's an unquestionable MVP, especially this season. I don't see how the Pats advance to the Super Bowl without him.
Death From Above Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Did you see the hit? I wouldn't attribute the injury to bring fragile. Rules of sport: Once a player has been injured, even if he can only be struck down by lightning he's still "injury prone" if that lightning bolt hits.
Craig H Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I shouldn't have said "fragile." It was flip remark.
Death From Above Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 That was a simul-response between you and me there. Wasn't piling on. Anyway I'm just bitter because my fantasy season built around the Brady-Gronk surge is dead in the water. First world problems.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Stafford's still considered fragile and pretty much every NFL QB has missed a game since he last did. Christian Ponder also missed a few games.
johnnyboy Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 On the plus side, at least it wasn't Bernard Pollard.
glfpunk Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Nobody cares about fat faced Stafford and his shithouse team of nobodies + Calvin Johnson and a RB that can't keep his balance in pregame warmups that can't beat the Eagles when I need them to.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I'd love to make points about Dez Bryant being a literal son of a whore and Tony Romo being the worst value for money signing in modern times but I don't have the energy.

Anyway I'm just bitter because my fantasy season built around the Brady-Gronk surge is dead in the water. First world problems. I took a chance with the Kaepernick-Davis strategy, since their chemistry was still up in the air at the beginning of the season. It's worked out pretty well this season.
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Oh and guess what. All these rules about hitting low to prevent concussions? Guess who tore his ACL/MCL yesterday *AND* has a concussion? http://deadspin.com/rob-gronkowski-also-has-a-concussion-is-the-nfls-late-1479706054

Niners Fan in CT Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Pretty soon breathing on the receiver will be 15 yards.
Death From Above Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Hitting to the knees has been a penalty for 100 years, if people have a problem with that they just don't understand anything about football.
LooseCannon Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Pretty soon breathing on the receiver will be 15 yards. Is it impossible to tackle a guy above the knees and below the neck?
Death From Above Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 For a lot of the "great athletes" playing at safety, it probably is. There are guys with 8 year NFL careers that have never made a form tackle.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Pretty soon breathing on the receiver will be 15 yards. Is it impossible to tackle a guy above the knees and below the neck? At that speed? It's not as easy as you think.. Having a strike zone would be terrible for the sport. It would help if referees stopped calling penalties on hits that were not actually helmet to helmet. You should be able to challenge that. Actually, you should be able to challenge anything. If you keep it to two challenges, why not..
RIPPA Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Speaking of Speed Keep driving 110 mph Jadeveon Clowney This way you will drop and the Giants can draft you. Just don't kill anyone or yourself
JLSigman Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Jonathan Stewart suffered an MCL injury in Sunday's loss to the Saints. *sigh*
Elsalvajeloco Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 I'd love to make points about Dez Bryant being a literal son of a whore and Tony Romo being the worst value for money signing in modern times but I don't have the energy. Much like Matthew Stafford trying to recover his own fumbles.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Only in America would it be the QB's fault that some degenerate fat guy snapped the ball a foot over his head. The same America that pays Tony Romo hundreds of millions of dollars to lose when it matters. 1
RIPPA Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Jonathan Stewart suffered an MCL injury in Sunday's loss to the Saints. *sigh* Now if we were looking for an example of a guy who is fragile
