if you can't tell, I'm of the POV that managers who just get their jobs a year or two after retiring or guys without any real coaching experience probably have rocks in their head. Vogt is gonna have to work to escape the Matheny/Ausmus zone

Clase is broken (at least against the Yanks)

Tigers cooked him in the LDS round.  The Yanks are popping what's left of him into the microwave because Vogt/Cleveland won't just throw him in the dumpster.

You say this like they have a viable alternative. Clase was by far their best arm all season, and the team's entire strategy is to keep it close enough for Clase to close it out.

These games are going to take years off of my life.

The Mets didn't strike out once in Game 5

That is the first time a team has done that in the playoffs since the Angels did it in the 2002 World Series

For Game 6 - the Mets are starting Sean Manaea while the Dodgers are gonna bullpen

For Game 5 - the Yanks are going with Carlos Rodon (the Game 1 starter) while the Indians announced that Tanner Bibee (Game 2 starter) will go for them

oh yeah, Robin Ventura is another former player turned manager who was terrible. But Ventura didn't squander teams near as good as the Tigers/Cardinals. Ventura's idea of managerial strategy was to intentionally walk anybody who was hitting with first base open no matter how good they were

so Ventura probably could have avoided giving up a bomb to Stanton and lost for other reasons last night

As a lifelong Yankees fan I have to give a real tip of the hat to Cleveland. The Guardians made us really fight for every run and every win. They have nothing to be ashamed of

My body gave up shortly after the Stanton HR so I passed out

It's has been awhile since my old ass has had to handle these multiple long nights in a row

Also - side note - if the Yanks want to give Juan Soto his billion dollars before the World Series starts, I am cool with it
