Cobra Commander Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 if you can't tell, I'm of the POV that managers who just get their jobs a year or two after retiring or guys without any real coaching experience probably have rocks in their head. Vogt is gonna have to work to escape the Matheny/Ausmus zone
Cobra Commander Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 congrats to Clay Holmes on his 2025 contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates or Cincinnati Reds
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Yeah I don’t think we are seeing Holmes again - at least in this series
Cobra Commander Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 "Clay Holmes was placed on the injured list after being buried under the 50 yard line at Giants Stadium"
Nice Guy Eddie Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Mark Leiter, Jr. All I can do is hold my breath now.
BobbyWhioux Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Just now, RIPPA said: Clase is broken (at least against the Yanks) Tigers cooked him in the LDS round. The Yanks are popping what's left of him into the microwave because Vogt/Cleveland won't just throw him in the dumpster.

Clase was by far their best arm all season, and the team's entire strategy is to keep it close enough for Clase to close it out. These games are going to take years off of my life.
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Thank you Jesus Granted I won’t be going to bed anytime soon 1
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 The Mets didn't strike out once in Game 5 That is the first time a team has done that in the playoffs since the Angels did it in the 2002 World Series
RIPPA Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 For Game 6 - the Mets are starting Sean Manaea while the Dodgers are gonna bullpen For Game 5 - the Yanks are going with Carlos Rodon (the Game 1 starter) while the Indians announced that Tanner Bibee (Game 2 starter) will go for them

Vogt is gonna have to work to escape the Matheny/Ausmus zone oh yeah, Robin Ventura is another former player turned manager who was terrible. But Ventura didn't squander teams near as good as the Tigers/Cardinals. Ventura's idea of managerial strategy was to intentionally walk anybody who was hitting with first base open no matter how good they were so Ventura probably could have avoided giving up a bomb to Stanton and lost for other reasons last night 1
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Sending someone home with no outs in the first sure is a choice
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I will personally build Giancarlo Stanton’s statue in Monument Park 2 1
Cobra Commander Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Stephen Vogt managing the version of Major League where they keep pitching to Haywood
supremebve Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I really hate the Yankees. Like deep down in the depths of my soul, I hate these bitches so much. 3 1
J.H. Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 As a lifelong Yankees fan I have to give a real tip of the hat to Cleveland. The Guardians made us really fight for every run and every win. They have nothing to be ashamed of James 2
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 My body gave up shortly after the Stanton HR so I passed out It's has been awhile since my old ass has had to handle these multiple long nights in a row
RIPPA Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Also - side note - if the Yanks want to give Juan Soto his billion dollars before the World Series starts, I am cool with it 2
