Sorry on the loss of your friend, Dolfan. The years get longer but the memories and pain remain. 13 years for me with Lisa, she was only 26. Fuck cancer. I'm close friends with her Mum ever since and we eat out regularly.

It's crazy that we live in a time where we can just get a Claudio/Okada match on a random-ass Wednesday. God bless Uncle Tony. That shit was dope. Just dudes fighting. It didn't need weeks of lore dumps. Just two guys fighting. I liked Jericho/Billington. Say what you will about Jericho (and I have, believe me); that dude gives a shit. He could be phoning it in and he's not. Ospreay/MJF was good but wayyyy too long. I also dug Swerve/Danielson. All In is going to fornicate.

Spoiler

I was mistaken, it's the satellite feed. Here's a hot spoiler for you: TK reveals that TimeCop is his favorite movie.

Rampage from a couple of weeks ago probably, in Texas.

Conglomeration vs Brian Cage/ Beast Mortos / Johnny TV is one of those "Did NOT need to go this hard" matches. Like if it had happened on Smackdown in 2017, people would  be talking about it as a TV match of the year, but here it's just your opening match of the least watched AEW show. Mortos and Ishii did a shoulderblock exchange sequence and the audience failed to chant MEAT MEAT MEAT. Perhaps Big Beef being in ROH now has accidentally killed off the Meat chant. Ishii's complete and total no-sell of TV's forearm smash was funny. TV's weird headstand slow-mo flip bump off of a kick to the leg was some Michaels/Perfect overbumping.

Fuego Del Sol returns, with no AEW win-loss record because he's been gone for years. His "Most career losses in AEW" record was probably quietly broken and nobody noticed. Part of me expected this match to be a sub-two minute squash, but Fuego was able to get some shit in. He's also somehow still over. Roddy's half nelson slam onto the turnbuckle post looked pretty awesome, Fuego's back actually looked broken.

Mina Shirakawa vs Robyn Renegade was also really good. I know a few years ago there was a feeling that someone from Stardom was going to become a big star internationally, obviously everyone's first choice was Hana Kimura (RIP), but I think there's a real chance that Mina could become a brighter star for AEW (while remaining in Stardom) than Giulia is able to be in WWE (and I think she's done with Marigold now). Hopefully Mina is a All In tomorrow. Hopefully she isn't greeted by the same lack of reaction that Shida and Takeshita got last year.

Oh, they were saving the MEAT chants for Gates of Agony vs Iron Savages. Makes sense. That was a fun one too.

The Von Erichs main eventing in Texas... let's see how things go for them now the residency is over. There's a not-zero chance that Hologram does better on his travels than they do. Looking at the Outrunners, these aren't the Von Erichs you would expect them to be facing. They look more 80s than actual people from the 80s looked in the 80s. The fans were oddly split, like they were cheering the Von Erichs, but less than overwhelmingly, and seemed to want to get behind ol' Truth and Turbo. Perhaps the Outrunners should be babyfaces down the line. There were a few TURBO chants in there too. It got a few more minutes than I was expecting... good fun match, but the best wrestler out there was ringside doing the Cheerleader thing (Dustin Rhodes).

I feel like the Outrunners are a little too wink wink about their gimmick and need to be more earnest to work as actual bad guys. Their third looks like she's fit right in on WOW.

Mina has the nebelous "physical charisma" part down pat like Asuka or Tajiri which is why she caught on so quick with the crowds IMO. I assume with her commitments she can't stick around long enough to really be a part of the roster, but these special appearances are cool.

Watching Collision now, and boy is it weird seeing Jeff Jarrett get a face reaction. I am really digging Jarrett's current run.

This AEW run and MMA IMPACT run are the only times I've enjoyed Jeff Jarrett.

Before AEW existed, there was a tradition of the post-Mania Raw being the fans takeover show, but that's kind of gone away in subsequent years. But Collision before All In, that had the same feeling. Big Bill suddenly becoming the biggest babyface in the company, with Jeff Jarrett right behind him.

Hook getting pissed off at the fans booing him despite being an overmatched underdog super babyface really makes you appreciate how well John Cena used to deal with the hostile audiences.

I can't tag folks on PC but I would love to see what Matt thought of how Bill approached this.  It started with some crowd involvement, went to dueling chants then when chants for Bill took over he flipped them off repeatedly in an attempt to get the boos.  Yet the more he did it the more they lost their minds and the whole thing gave me a hearty laugh.  I took it as a wacky Cardiff crowd being wacky but this was so, so great.

To get the best feel for how it went down, you have to watch the leaked version that got online on Thursday. Both the TV version, and the International Feed hide exactly how the crowd turned during the Picture in Picture... specifically Bill flipping off the crowd and loudly yelling FUCK YOU FUCK YOU, that was censored on the international version, but uncensored on the leaked one.

Anyway,

The build up to the PPV was all about Jericho saying that Hook was going to be out of the Jericho vortex after it, if he lost.

So tomorrow, we're getting  and 8 man tag of Jericho, Big Bill, Brian Keith and Roddy Strong vs Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe and Hook.

The vortex, it's inescapable.

Well, he didn't lie. Poor Hook didn't want out of the vortex enough to take a dive.
