I dare any of you cut a pair of jeans like Stat just did, to make chaps out of them. Unfortunately, I don't have enough blue jeans to sacrifice for that, so I'm out!

The camera didn't do a great job of showing them so I was very confused as to how she had them cut exactly but yeah, that's certainly a look. One I won't copy because I don't think the world's ready for all this jelly (shout-out Destiny's Child.)

At the end, you basically had Briscoe, one of the Jackson’s, Darby, and Perry. I think the other Jackson and Bowens never came back after the table bump, as for the rest I’ve seen plenty of online criticism about it.

Hangman and Swerve were taken out of the picture earlier with the crash off the stage. So that just leaves Okada and Caster as unexplained absences.

Oh right! So much of their stuff had nothing to do with the larger match that I had pretty much forgotten they were a part of it.

I noticed that too, and it got me wondering if that was by design just to give the people a tiny little taste of them in a cage together before they eventually have a 1v1 in one - we've all kinda said variations on this, but there are really very few other places to go from that Texas Deathmatch (other than the 'exploding barbed wire with fixed ending' idea floated earlier in the thread - I'd credit whichever of you came up w that, but I'm on mobile so if I navigate away to check, this post is gone)

I think besides the finish this was the biggest miss of the match.  I've said before that to keep from just being a schmozz B&G needs a central feud as a hook to hang the match on.  Since the EVP/AEW stuff is kinda muddy, Swerve/Hangman should have been the hook and instead they made it the sideshow before they took them out of the match completely.  I think this year was an improvement over last years, but that and the finish were pretty limp.

"Are you ready to die?  Because I am" is some of the hardest shit ever said in an AEW promo and I can't believe it came from the goofy All About Eve feud.

Maybe? Sorry, I watched the international feed so I'm not clear on when the commercial breaks happen.

That was my line of the night followed by Tony thinking the crowd was saying "Shop Forever" during Jericho/MiSu.

If they want to continue the movie stuff, have Toni become The Blood Spattered Bride or something. Actually no, as I'm typing this I'm having a vision of her as Carrie and I'm loving it.

Nah AEW was just doing em like two months ago during the Edge/Malekai lead-up. We even got a Gangrel cameo!

Blood and Guts was a pretty good CZW match albeit with no (real) glass. I always detest handcuffs in my wrestling but I guess it was okay this time. They also did the Chairshot Heard Around the World!

Despite that I think I liked Jericho/ Suzuki even more. Ex bringing up Kobashi/Sasaki immediately as I did was pretty great.

...I skipped the Shida match haha

Also, I finally like Jarrett after him being my most-hated for... well, his entire career. Only his rookie babyface shit in Memphis, the MMA bit with the kids, and this remorseful old legend are good looks for him.

It did. I think they may have mentioned it right when they came back from commercial but it was a bit of odd timing.

Re: the whole "people disappearing" deal I think this is a symptom of the changes from the traditional Wargames match layout (where both teams at full strength generally meant the match climax with it not going on much longer, i.e. a quick explosion of match-ending violence) to the current Blood & Guts one (where it feels like 40-50% of the match takes place after said point). In short bits of chaos it is easier to hide people dropping out, but when you extend things out it is much harder to account for 10 people for long stretches of time. I don't think it is unsolvable (we've only had four of these matches after all) but it sticks out as something they still struggle with.

So Darby went out after Blood and Guts and did that huge-ass battle royale til the very end or was it prior? Somebody on the Discord said they shot Rampage right after. That is absolutely no time off for the crazy, skinny bastard -- and he still let Claudio blast his head into the steps. Anyway, I wanted Jarrett to win (you probably saw this coming) but the guy who did, well lets just say it's been a long time for him to win the main belt. He doesn't necessarily need it but hey, at least a gold watch reign. The match itself felt like they would never stop introducing people. My attention wavered but there were some good spots and feuds. Jarrett's ten count punches were actually hitting, too! Not only that but Daddy Magic got the hero pop which was super nice of the fans to do.

The rest of this was squashes? I guess that guy who might be dead was the Archer victim. I also saw Rush punch someone directly in the face so that was cool, too.

Man, the first 5 entrants into the Royal Rampage was kind of random and extremely my shit. After that, the feuds and angles came in for better (mostly) and worse (please let Undisputed Kingdom die already). I would like to see Beast Mortos and Brian Cage, with the proviso that Mortos goes over. If Cage would stop wrestling like a hot shot tecnico and realize he’s a dumb shit rudo…well, I still wouldn’t like him but. Kip Sabian is a waste of money. Lio Rush eliminating Mortos is fucking dumb. The Daddy Magic stuff was funny. The Brandon Cutler bit was dumb. Kip Sabian is a waste of money. Brody King is a star. I kinda wanted Jarrett to win just because this board has me actually wanting a Danielson-Jarrett match (not that it can’t happen still, but for a minute it was theoretically for a world title at Grand Slam,) Claudio deserved the win, he’s such a fucking pro, makes every person he is in the ring with look great, let him have a fucking title shot already. I like Darby, but (a) is him getting a title shot gonna sell more tickets and (b) can we foreshadow Swerve retaining more (although I guess in theory you can have Danielson win at All In so his name is finally in the title lineage and a crowning achievement and then lose it back to Swerve at All Out).

Hell yeah Willow! Stat’s entrance lasts longer than the match. I was curious to see if Leila Gray has gotten better. Her one offensive move looked fine I guess.

Was the word as fuck Saraya/Harley promo at this spot? Saraya would be a good manager. Harley may have something. Who knows.

Lance Archer = sweet, sweet FFWD button. Can’t fucking stand him.

Random 4 tag team main event without entrances. Odd choice. I was super excited that Outrunners got to be more than total squash fodder. I’m always excited to see Dutch, but Vincent can join Archer and Sabian in catering. Private Party is running out their contract, maybe. They’re not interesting in the slightest anymore. Rush is now maybe officially Team Callis but we didn’t get an entrance which was a choice that someone made. The structure of the match with Rush (who I got super excited for in the Royal Rampage before it was actually Lio Rush) and Fletcher letting the scrubs fight it out and choosing their moments was good. Outrunners vs Dutch was good.  It sure why the full thing didn’t record on my YouTube TV but I’m *pretty* sure who won…

I’m drunk again but I mostly liked the Royal Rampage, probably more than I talked about above. The highlight of the rest was The Outrunners, because they decided to have the women’s match be a squash.

Bit of an issue with having major spots appear in commercial break

OC and The Swolverine should form a tag team ala the new Deadpool movie

As others have said, I was definitely wanting a Jarrett win in the Royal Rampage especially being in Nashville. Nice that he got to go close to the end though and had to be cost by interference. Would've loved a one off Jarrett title shot vs Swerve or Bryan at Grand Slam. Do still hope we at least get one Jarrett/Bryan singles match at some point along the way.

Collision has ended up with an interesting lineup. The Beast Mortos as Hologram's second opponent, MxM Collection going straight after FTR, Pac/Lio Rush should rule, and Orange vs Johnny TV.

Then Battle of the Belts is more Title Eliminators than Title Matches with Deonna/Willow and Toni/Taya, but we will crown new ROH Six Man champs.

Is Alex Marvez okay?! We've apparently established that Osprey is a bad driver (joining Wardlow and Jericho), and we didn't see him after Will ran in.

Blood & Guts:
Really enjoyed it, good stories involved, a compelling match. I'm liking the dynamic about how Hangman's jealousy is eating him alive more and more every appearance.
Dammit, I'm still NOT prepared to accept Sentimental Jeff Jarrett. I want to, but it just goes against 30 years of wrestling logic.

Funny how Cage never gets any play anymore and all of the sudden he is there at the very end of the Rumble chugging along. I guess he IS really utilitarian in that sense, for something like a battle royale.

There's is a lot about Royal Rampage that I dislike before the bell even rings. An AEW weakness - offering a World Title shot with a match featuring a largely non-contender field. The lack of top guys screams 'unimportant'. Visually this match with it's two rings makes for a far busier production than I care to watch. All that said, I liked what I saw on fwd-skim. Very strong down the finish, and Darby's a fantastic choice to headline Grand Slam. I'm pleased to see Jarrett and Hangman on a collision course.

Absolutely. I don't blame Big Lance for constantly being booked 'In Action', but I hate these segments as much as you. The Stat v Leila Grey match was incredibly disappointing. Grey as cannon fodder is a complete waste of her burgeoning talent. She was getting better and better when last she surfaced on TV er app. This week featured lesser works from Willow and Saraya/Harley, but always nice to see them. Not as nice to see another 4 way. This time with teams. No thanks.

MJF continues his run of 10% good promos, 90% shit.  I can believe the dude has ADHD the way can’t help but directly engage the crowd every time they get quiet.  Like Wednesday, he was taking and they were just listening and not reacting so he brought the promo to a halt to yell “shut up!” to the dead crowd to get a pop.  Bush league as fuck.

On the plus side, I adore the Outrunners’ commitment to the gimmick, right down to the Duane Gill and Barry Hardy hair.
