I don't want to make light of anything you may have been going through back then, but picturing someone in therapy being asked, "What would you consider your lowest point?" and answering with "Well, at one point I was drunk-posting about Dolph Ziggler a lot." made me laugh. Therapist immediately picks up her office phone, "Clear my appointments for the rest of the day! We need to get into this NOW!" 1 1 8
EVA Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Not only was the chair gimmicked, but also notice how expertly Mark Briscoe pulled the shot at the last second. Zero follow through on his swing. 7 1

This, too - I didn't want to re-litigate the Raven thing from some years back, where he had people on his ass because he said "You know, there's a right way to do it..." But yeah, there's a right way to do it. 5

We got an ollie from the top turnbuckle onto a Buck back, and Bowens through three tables (since he missed the fourth, ouch). So not bad. 3

Glad others liked it. Same here, plus it just didn’t have the bumps and gore of the last couple of years other than Bowens (bumps, he somehow managed not to bleed after getting sandwiched between two barbed wire “boards”) and Briscoe (the MVP of the match). The staple gun spot with Okada’s finger was funny but was underwhelming. The skateboard thumbtack spot was pretty nasty in terms of Jackson taking a bunch in the tricep instead of the back. Perry did take a pretty hellacious beating at least. The Jarrett part had to happen because of Nashville but didn’t make much sense otherwise.
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Highlight of the night for me was all of MJF's streamers just blowing away and not falling anywhere near him. 2 1

HarryArchieGus Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 (edited) This was easily my favorite Blood n Guts. There was a nice flow to the action - until the disappointing finish. Every-every-everytime this company tries to get too cute they are met with diminishing results. The unnecessary TV title shot request etc. nearly ruined everything they collectively accomplished. That said, Mark Briscoe's star continues to burn bright. Swerve felt like a true Champion during the staplegun comeback. And throughout. Everybody loved the Okada staple-bird! The Bucks were their usual on point plus. Hanger, Perry, Darb, even the Acclaimed brought their best. But there's no denying how that finish deflated the match. It was indicative of this show, as a whole - a very hit and miss affair. The Ospreay/Marvez opening was ridiculously bad (maybe so bad it was funny). The worst part is - it was a pre-tape? Somebody watched that and said 'yep, nailed it!' Alex Marvez is a nice guy, but he should never be called upon to act. Then we get Jake Friedman, the Milkman, with uggghhh Dead relatives, 'Skanks', etc. Still, not hard not to find amusement in the Nashville crowd so ready for a 'USA' chant. Then a convoluting Bucks/Bryce Remsburg/Daniels skit. Can we all band together as a united DVDVR board - AEW subection - unite and WILL Coach Tony to END this EVP they have the power/they don't have the power nonsense and goddamn Commissioner Daniels? Cue 'Take the Power Back'. In AEW simple is always best eg. Jericho v Suzuki - terrific fun as expected. I'm hoping for a contest featuring Shibata v Bryan Keith. Take it to the E-Sports stadium. Further silly storytelling, the cherry on top, Stat attacks Willow and asks for an 'ELIMINATOR Match!?!' I really needed some Willow talk before that attack. Fashion of the week: a wild ripped denim from Stat. I wish Schiavone would've boasted 'I'VE NEVER SEEN Denim ripped that way before!' I'm not sure what to think of the Danielson/Jarrett promo. Jarrett's making the most of his minutes, but not sure this worked. I was watching Baker v Oktoberfest Shida (@Gordlow got to it first) while making coffee, and must've missed the shitty parts. Everything I saw was solid. I liked seeing Britt try to work in some new mat based offense. What I saw was the better Shida, but I may have just been applauding the Oktoberfest gear. Britt's pants look like they were cut by the same assailant in the Stat/Denim incident. I liked the post match Kamille debut. I like her a lot in the heater role. She's the new Wardy. More bummer dead relative heat from Nick Wayne on Kip'stache. A nice physical showcase for the B-Tard was what I thought of Pac v Boulder. Good squash. Even better the Mariah May squash. That's how you do 'In Action'! The Toni attack post match seemed slightly ill-timed to start, but worked out fairly nicely. The heel turn, that underrated and fun promo from last week, Mariah is on a wonderful run. This feud is my greatest reason to be All-In in 2024. Edited July 25, 2024 by HarryArchieGus Thank you to @DOLFANinNYC for 'Jake Friedman' 4 1

DreamBroken Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Loved the Blood and Guts as usual with that match every year, thought most everything worked out pretty well and did a good job furthering the feuds within the match. Lots of excellent spots throughout. Always enjoy Britt/Shida matches. This one maybe not as great as some of their previous, but still good. Shida busting out a full sequence from the Yakuza game was cool. Jericho/Suzuki ruled. As did the Mariah/Toni pull apart. Great to see Kamille officially become ALL Elite, pairing with Mercedes should be killer for sure. Nothing announced yet for Collision but looking forward a weekend of Death Before Dishonor/the Royal Rampage/Collision/Battle of the Belts 3

The audience wants perfectly literal storytelling presented in a way where they can see and understand the purpose and mechanism of every string. Wow this is a very dickish way to say that. I simply saw several of my favorite wrestlers wrecked to various degrees via brain damage from stuff they'd have likely sworn up and down they had a handle on, but yeah I don't really care and am just doing it for attention or because I like to be contrary; secretly I hope Shibata brings his headbutt back >_> 2 1

This is the first episode of Dynamite I've watched in about a month and a half (saw a random episode of Rampage) That first hour was pretty rough, some bad matches and a weird MJF America First? promo. You have the heel distracted by the face's music spot twice with Shibata and Toni Storm (what was with the black wig?) Was Shida cosplaying as someone? Edited July 26, 2024 by zendragon 1

twiztor Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 i don't know when Shida got new music, but watching Dynamite, the guitar riff seemed incredibly familiar. I couldn't place it and it ate away at my brain. Played it a couple times on YouTube until it finally clicked. That's the X-Men Animated Series riff! (sorry if old news) i popped. 1
NikoBaltimore Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 I'm honestly not sure what John was going on about but it's odd since he's generally been pretty chill. Yikes. As for Shida I don't know if the cosplay is from it but AxB put a video showing a move sequence she did was from one of the Yakuza games. 3
Peck Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Totally forgot about this but every show needs 60 seconds of ALEX MARVEZ COMEDY™ to open the broadcast. <Chucks Ospreay's suitcase in to back seat> "Will, I have to ask you... have you ever driven in America?" "Nope." "AHHHHH!" <Grabs 'Oh Shit!' handle> 4
John E. Dynamite Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Oh, just life is hell and my interests have slipped away from me. I can't post anymore, the words don't come, it's like I have some block and I can't make opinions happen if I'm not bitter and failing to be sober. Never my intent to become some bearer of negativity or seeker of conflict. I very much miss being able to sit down and watch a bunch of wrestling and talk about why it's good. I can't focus on it anymore, and I don't have anyone to watch it with. I'll stop trying to wear the asshole hat. It isn't me. 4 2
Shartnado Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 (edited) I dare any of you cut a pair of jeans like Stat just did, to make chaps out of them. Unfortunately, I don't have enough blue jeans to sacrifice for that, so I'm out! PAC vs Boulder could have been so much more than it was. I was practically salivating when it began. Kamille coming in, is interesting to say the very least. Well, at least MJF's new title didn't have the scarf pattern. Mariah May using all of Toni's greatest hits sent a message, Toni coming in, sent another. This just became one heated match! Main event still to come! Yup, the main event was something! Didn't think The Elite would lose! What a bunch of pussies! Jungle Jesus was already on fire, WTF? Edited July 26, 2024 by Shartnado 2
