I like how Jericho's chest bleeds like crazy every time he fights one of my favourite Japanese guys. Shibata making the save popped me hard. Oktoberfest Shida was working stiffer than usual. I hope my boy Curt picked up on that. Royal Rampage on Friday?!?! No time to take a breath. Jeff Cobb vs Takeshita from G1 night was lotsa fun. If Jungle Boy named his son after Matt and Nick he'd be Jack's son Jackson. Jericho bleeding from the chest from chops is one of the things I never knew i needed from pro wrestling, and now i have it. I'm going to have a fever dream one day about Gunther chopping Jericho to death for my amusement 3 1 1
GodzillaPerez Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 (edited) Loved the whole show except Blood & Guts. Too long and samey for my liking plus I hated how long the ending took. Glad others liked it. Edited July 25, 2024 by GodzillaPerez 3
The Natural Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 03:22am GMT so going to try and get some sleep. Cheers. 1
Niners Fan in CT Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Excellent main event and it looks to me like two more matches likely added to 'All In' one of which is confirmed. Darby vs. Jack Perry Okada vs. Hangman Yes....please.
EVA Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Say what you will about the Suzuki formula match, but when it works, it REALLY works. 7

NikoBaltimore Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Yeah, he was really scrambling to find it since they were feeling the time crunch even with the overrun. I'm also not a fan at all of chairshots to the head the way Mark did it to Jack. But given the environment I can at least understand why it was done. Going back to Toni going after Mariah I wonder if we're seeing a bridge away from the Timeless gimmick. The hair seemed shorter and she was full of rage. I personally think it's time to slowly transition away from that so if this match does it then fine by me. 3
Peck Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I got some strong Shawn/Diesel vibes from Mercedes/Kamille. Kamille has a monster babyface run in her when she eventually turns on Mone. 6
COLETTI Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Toni should switch gimmicks to 70's grindhouse "killer knife fight chicks in fast cars" shit. 10

That would go well with Tony Schiavone's comment about Toni being straight out of a Quentin Tarantino movie tonight. Edited July 25, 2024 by Nice Guy Eddie 6
Phantom Lord Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Well this was a pretty good episode of Dynamite. I still contend the story for blood & guts was very weak, but the match almost made up for it. I was almost right with The Elite winning. The ending felt convoluted with Darby wanting to set Perry on fire. I guess he didn't have a Tennessee permit for his SPACEBALLS THE FLAMETHROWER. I did like the debut of Kamille. Mone needs to be a slimy heel so having a big bad bodyguard to protect her is perfect. Plus down the road we can see her get demolished by Kamille when that turn happens. 6

Glad others liked it. I definitely thought the ending was weird, with the heel taking an extended beatdown from multiple faces and refusing to quit. And this is the same guy who ran like a poltroon from Hook after he won the FTW title! I guess Team AEW just weren't all that intimidating. 4
Niners Fan in CT Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 "ALL IN" Card as we know it... Swerve vs. Bryan Danielson MJF vs. Will Ospreay Mercedes Mone vs. Dr. Britt Baker Toni Storm vs. Mariah May Darby vs. Jack Perry Hangman Page vs. Okada (not confirmed) 1
EVA Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Bucks/Acclaimed seems pretty certain. Though it seems they might add FTR to make it a three way. 3
Casey Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Still not down with this Elite shit, but I enjoyed the actual B&G match. I love me some crazy spotfests and this had plenty of it. Curious to where they go with Swerve & Hangman. They’re focusing on All In, as they should, but there’s also a PPV to sell the next weekend and it’s going to feel like a nothing show again this year the way things are going. I’m proud of my Nashville peeps. They chanted for Punk when Perry came out. Good for you guys. Nashville also got Punk’s return to RAW after Survivor Series. This, and that RAW, are two things I wish I could’ve been at. Kamille & Mercedes is a good pairing. Hayter’s return (at All In? Maybe before and we get Kamille/Hayter in London??) will blow the roof off wherever it happens. Give it to me, now. I said this pairing should’ve happened when Mercedes was feuding with Willow (and by extension, Stat) when she debuted. I think it’d be funny if she sees Hayter return and decides she needs even more protection and hires Megan Bayne as well. I do not care about MJF, and I’m sad Ospreay is sucked into this. Max’s vortex is as boring as Jericho’s, IMO. 2

Mercedes/Kamille vs DMD/Hayter at All In?? This was a great show top to bottom. Jericho/Suzuki was just fantastic - I forget who said this a while back, but Jericho doing the aging Japanese heavyweight style just works SO well. The main event was dope as hell, but I found the finish a liiiiiittle anti-climactic, I think if the two big table bumps happened a little closer to Darby's whole thing (or even while he was on the mic) it would've worked a little better, but that's total nitpicking. It was otherwise perfect 2
username Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 The one note I will add re: Blood & Guts is that they basically ran this same ending last year and a variant of it in three of the four B&G matches so far. I think they probably need to mothball it for a bit after this. 3
Casey Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 (edited) Or just come up with a women’s story that can include Blood & Guts and watch the ratings stack up. Too bad the Bunny isn’t around anymore, she’d bleed like a motherfucker for that. EDIT: Also if the plan is Britt versus Mercedes at All In with a Hayter return… you run that tag match the next weekend at All Out, 100%. Edited July 25, 2024 by Casey 3
YouHaveUntil5 Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 The ending would have worked a lot better if they just had Matt freak out and quit instead of shoehorning the TNT Title stuff into it. There’s still a whole month before All In, they didn’t have to make the match tonight. 1 1

I’m now suddenly hit with the idea of Jarrett winning the Royal Rampage (in Nashville no less) to get his World title shot. I’m going with the assumption that Danielson is winning the title, so running him versus Jarrett at Grand Slam would be great. but watch it be Hangman. 3

The crowd is super into it and it is one of the few feuds going that "feels" real and hateful. The only thing is they've done so much to each other, where can they go to up the stakes? Loser leaves AEW is like the only real escalation I can think that's left unless you want to get into total Memphis ridiculousness that should be kept in the past.

I'd like to see Perry split from the Elite and develop more of a Raven-like character. He's already got the Jesus Christ pose down. 3
Greggulator Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Blood and Guts ruled. It had everything I could want in some chaotic garbage ghoul match — blood, reckless neck bumps, falls from the cage to ladders, unprotected head shots (that really hushed the crowd), the torture of a man with staple guns and it ends with threatened arson resulting in a future shot at the promotions third highest ranking title. Wrestling is the greatest. One million billion stars. AEW rules the motherfucking world. 9
