Nosebleed caused by high blood pressure, Simon lives to fight another day.

Really didn’t think he’d be coming back home tonight. Wish maybe he could have waited until after I had eaten dinner.

How many lives is Simon up to now?

His last, unfortunately.  He has the Big Appointment on Saturday.  His kidneys are still deteriorating and his eyesight and brain have gotten so bad he keeps Mr Magooing himself off of things and is going to hurt himself.

Thanks.  He pretty much lives in my wife's lap so this is going to be real rough on her.

Last month I had to put down my other senior cat, which was pretty terrible. When her brother had passed away in July, I had adopted a kitten to keep her company, so I adopted another kitten to keep the kitten company.

I forgot how much energy kittens have. The zoomies started at 4am and lasted for like nine hours. How do they do it off of a can of wet food and a half cup of kibble?

We have both decided we’re past our kitten days, barring some act of the cat distribution system to foist one upon us.

I’ve been scouting the shelter listings since James passed last June and I’m pretty sure I know who our next cat will be. Big doofy boy with a crumpled ear who loves other cats and has been at the shelter almost a year. That’s my kinda guy.

Aw man, I'm so sorry to hear that.

My younger cat (3 in July)eats so little and is an absolute menace.

Hell yeah, man.  There are plenty of older cats out there.

Hello there. I had my colonoscopy surgery yesterday. The prep was one of the worst of the four I've had. Same for the procedure with polyps found again which needed to be removed. I'm really fucking sore. Love, Paul xxx.

My 2006 Prius decided it no longer wants to function. Unfortunately, there's no Unicron around to turn it into something better. 😛

Oof. This.  I had to put down my girl Squeaker a year ago on Wednesday.  My life is just...categorically worse without her in it.  She was an actual ninja, dressed in black, able to end up in my lap for an hour before I'd notice.

This fucking cat has kicked out at 2.99 once again.  His vision and cognitive symptoms have gotten much better on BP meds which means he doesn't wander around which means his pain isn't as bad, which means he gets a reprieve.  Unbelievable.

He did poop his drawers necessitating a wash and sanitary shave so it's not all sunshine and daisies.

The last time I talked to my dad was on Tuesday, and every time I tried calling him it went straight to voice mail. So today I stopped off at his place and immediately asked him for his phone. He handed me the phone I noticed that it was in Airplane Mode. I took it out of AM, called and it rang. I then went into the phone settings and deleted the Airplane Mode icon. That should fix that.

Listening to Meltzer discuss the Ali Act and the changes being made to it in order to very specifically benefit one corporation, I feel like some creative person out there really needs to remake Schoolhouse Rock to catch it up to modern standards.  “How a bill becomes a law” in particular is really outdated.  It’s missing steps like:

A corporation’s lawyers draft the bill and submit it to a congressperson that they own.  Sorry, I meant to say “have donated campaign funds to.”

The congressperson‘s interns or assistants read the bill and recommend they endorse it. The congressperson never reads the bill.

More campaign funds are spread around to likeminded lawmakers.

Political theater…sorry, “hearings,” are conducted.  Despite impassioned and logical pleas against it, the bill is passed.

Best of luck to the people trying to sell a 65 Thunderbird for 32k. That seems like a sane-enough price

(or at least I assume that’s why they have the For Sale signs in the vehicle that they parked at a steakhouse)

As someone who has always looked at 1960s Thunderbirds as a gorgeous bargain classic car (with the added benefit of disc brakes and the like) what kind of condition is it in? My ideal is a '66 and you can get a friggin' great one of those for half that amount. Did this thing have only like fifty miles on it or something?

My wife is currently about one month into her 3 month long work trip to Italy. This is the longest we have been apart in the past 24 years. In a few weeks I will visit her for a few days and then spend two and a half weeks over there once my summer vacation starts in July. It's definitely been different, but I have been able to watch more wrestling than usual, so there's definitely that. Oh, and as for the summer, we found out that there's a wrestling school in the town she's staying at. Not like I will be enrolling, but they did say the first time is free of charge, so maybe if I feel like having a concussion, who knows?

Recovering from an appendectomy.  Instead of one tiny incision in the belly button (like they did for my wife's appendectomy), they gave me three huge incisions on the left side of my belly and I'm still bleeding a week later.  It hurts to be alive.

On the other hand, oral arguments at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, which is the highest authority in criminal cases (Texas's supreme court is just for civil cases), on the subject of geofence warrants, which was just argued in the Supreme Court of the United States at the federal level.  So, uh, monumentally important issue (basically, can cops scan an area for all cell phone use in the area, including by completely innocent people, in case one of the phones was used by a criminal?), and basically the outcome of the case will determine precedent state-wide.

No pressure.

So I've not posted this on Facebook yet because Mom needs to call people, but....

...her kidneys are in full blown failure at this point. She's refusing dialysis. Her GP is calling us a hospice consult. It may not be soon, she's a tough old lady, but it's bad and it's not going to improve.
