Yeah, the mask thing is one of the bigger minuses of the MCU.

As discussed before, I can see them going with the Byrne version where it’s one scar from the accident and then all the damage from the wearing the mask for the first time out of the forge/fire.

Just thought of this. You gotta be willing to find an actor willing to play mostly behind a full mask where you only see their eyes. Not sure many actors have the... well, lack of ego to do that. Even the Iron Man flicks had the "inside the mask" shots constantly, and the mask being open.

The only 4 actors to do Comic/SciFi characters under masks that (almost) never take the mask off are Hugo Weaving, Karl Urban, Pedro Pascal, and Emily Swallow.  And Pedro and Hugo are already doing/have already done Marvel.  And Urban is otherwise occupied in the Superhero department.

Although now I'm wondering if Urban would've worked as Doom.

My theory on this is still that Disney/Marvel knows fans will absolutely flip their shit if Doom is unmasked for a majority of either films, so they just said fuck it and backed up the Brinks truck to the Downey mansion.

Realistically it’s only for two movies that’re shot back to back, whereas they started doing more and more Iron Man unmasked or with the nano helmet as time went on over 10ish years cuz RDJ got tired of doing it.

Also, IIRC, Pedro wasn’t actually doing a lot of the acting while fully masked.  I believe they had a double standing in a decent bit of time.

I'll forever be pissed we've never had Dredd 2. Dredd was fucking great and deserved better. Went opening night and bought the DVD first day of release.

Daredevil premieres March 4th 2025. New(ish) trailer was screened tonight at NYCC. Not terribly different from the D23 one if anyone saw that.

Still need a Jessica Jones revival, goddamnit.

Two days before my 40th birthday. Get in. I saw the best quality version of the Daredevil NYCC trailer which is the D23 one was. Went to post it here and it was already taken down.

AP gives Venom two stars, but this is the best line (minor plot spoilers in the link) : it’s a shame that we never saw more of Venom in daily life. Eddie is a journalist after all. One can only imagine how he and the symbiote might have debated more pressing concerns than the fate of the universe, like Oxford commas.

Surely neither Eddie Brock nor his symbiote are twisted enough to be against the Oxford comma?

Daredevil and Thunderbolts are 1A and 1B in terms of being eagerly anticipated, followed closely by What If S3 and F4.  I don't get the necessity of a Wonder Man tbh, but i'll hold off judgment because I also was of that mind about an Agatha show and I'm enjoying that more than a lot of ecent MCU projects.

Those all look good to me, except What If and Marvel Zombies. Thunderbolts is borderline for me.

My wishlist for Spider-Man films:

  • Spider-Man/Daredevil team up with Charlie Cox as DD.
  • Spider-Man/Wolverine/Deadpool team up with Wolverine played by Hugh Jackman and Deadpool by Ryan Reynolds.
  • Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.
  • A Spider-Man who can get things done on his own also.
  • A Spider-Man who quips.
  • Live action Spider-Gwen.
  • Peter Parker not taking his mask off or revealing his not so secret identity repeatedly as Spider-Man.
  • Black Cat.
  • No Silk. Can't stand the character.
  • Limit multiverse shenanigans. Less is more.

Daredevil: Born Again, Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts* in that order are the only ones I care about. That's it. Daredevil: Born Again is by far the most I'm into.

Cap, Thunderbolts*, Daredevil, Marvel Zombies.
Daredevil and Thunderbolts may swap as they gets closer. disappointed no X-Men '97 season 2.

still need to watch: Loki s2, the Marvels, What If s2, Agatha. man, my interest in the MCU is at an all time low.  edit: forgot Echo, which i have absolute zero intent to watch.

I binge watched Loki S2 over two days, Sunday and Monday. It was OK... not what I was expecting. Not as good as season one. It felt like possibly they had to work around some actors having limited availability, and others having to be scaled back from what they might have been planning to do with them.

It's worth watching if you've seen season one. If you haven't, it's worth watching the whole thing. But it's not transcendantally awesome or anything.

I still haven't seen:

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Ant-Man: Quantumania.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The Marvels.

What...If? Season 2.

Loki Season 2.

Echo.

Agatha All Along.

Of those, it'll be What...If Season 2 and Loki Season 2 only.

I really should watch Loki Season 2 as Loki Season 1 was my #1 Disney+ Marvel show until X-Men '97 came along.

Thunderbolts looks like so much fun.  I will be in the theatres day one for it.

Really liked both of these trailers considering my interest in Marvel Studios Marvel Cinematic Universe is so low. Of the two, Thunderbolts* appeals to me more thanks to Yelana Belova and The Winter Solider. Captain America should have stayed the rare perfect trilogy with three great entries. We didn't need a Captain America 4.
