Contentious C Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 (edited) Too bad Carolina couldn't keep their shit together for more than a half. Then again, as much as I hate both of those fucking schools (despite, or perhaps because of, attending one), the only real and true winner in that game would have been the Good Ol' Asteroid (though a very carefully aimed one, because Athens is nice, but depriving the world of 60,000 of UGA's most obnoxious fans could only possibly be a universal good). BloodyChamp Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 How dumb was that pass??? I didn’t exactly think USF was going to tie that game but they dang sure weren’t going to tie it by throwing a duck into double coverage. The call was dumb almost any time, but this time was even dumber. They made 2 first downs that sequence. Had they even done that at all today??? They thought that the way to win that game was to quit doing what had just got them farther down the field than anything else did the whole day. Real good idea. I’m just a little mad about this because had USF won this game, I would have been redneck rich later on tonight. No I didn’t make a bet lol! I work at a nightclub whose business swings with the direction of the football season. 2
BloodyChamp Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 That game was like watching a little kid play Tecmo Bowl after he’d gotten past the call the Hailmary every time phase, and finally tried to win a game however tedious it might have been. Get first downs within 3 or 4 tries doing the 3 plays you know how to run right and hope you can hang on until it’s over. Bama managed to do that, and probably would have done it had their opponent been able to resist the Hailmary.
EVA Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 *a little louder this time* Washington might be the best team in the PAC-12.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Tennessee starting to fall in a hole in The Swamp.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 And now Michigan is starting to fall apart...
EVA Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 Florida is moving the line of scrimmage 3 yards downfield every play. This game is OVER.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Poor writers and coach staffers are going to have to actually think about their ballots tomorrow. ------- What the fuck Michigan? That was almost three straight turnovers.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 And now it is three straight for fuck's sake
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 And Wyoming with the early lead on Texas.
hammerva Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 The Backyard Brawl so far featuring two below average coaches who are fucking terrified of their QB throwing the ball. With very good reason although at least West Virginia has the excuse of using their backup
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 If Tennessee doesn't get six on this drive, it's hard to see them coming back.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 The return of the Michigan Flea Flicker~! That got almost picked off, deflected, and ended up a touchdown anyway.
Kevin Wilson Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I have no dog in the fight and rarely am a "blame the refs" type but the refs are really not doing Tennessee any favors. Feels like every questionable call goes against them.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Well that was about as uninspiring 25 point win as you can get.
EVA Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 Cannot overstate how big this win is for Neal Brown at WVU. He’s kept his job by virtue of good vibes, and these vibes are great.
EVA Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 Conversely, vibes are terrible for Mike Gundy, as OK State got absolutely stomped at home by South Alabama, 33-7.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Wyoming gave it a good run but Texas pulling away now.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 And right as I type that a pick six really puts it away.
EVA Posted September 17, 2023 Author Posted September 17, 2023 And apparently I was very, very wrong about Jurkovec being good at Pitt. Narduzzi seems intent on turning Pitt into a black hole for offensive football.

Too bad for him since he’s done a good job for a long time IMO. When he leaves they won’t be competitive ever again unless they commit to being better from the ground up similar to how Clemson and others did. I know he’s not everybody’s perfect little angel but in a world with Brian Kelly and Lane Kiffin Gundy doesn’t bother me at all.
Brian Fowler Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 Colorado State came to play apparently.
