What I would like for my birthday sometime is to get a real nice, authentic cacio e pepe from an Italian joint. But you know, I also have roots in two families of Southeastern Missouri hillbillies, so probably fried chicken too.

I’m a quick eater though. If it gets warmed, it can be saved by the flavor. Popeyes (at least the ones near me) have good pickles on their spicy chicken sandwich. Dave’s Hot Chicken (one opened up a few months ago near me, dear lord it’s good) has good pickles with their sandwiches. Okay, but are you down with sweet pickles? If you are, then I think we can still be friends, just know that I might be silently judging you like a good Southern gal would, bless your heart.

It’s been awhile, but the last time I had a sweet pickle it was a real treat. It’s been some time now. How does everyone feel about olives?

I've never really been able to get behind olives, but that was due to a childhood of growing up with the version with pimentos stuffed inside and thinking those were just the worst. Too much generational trauma, I'm afraid. I should bring this up in my next session.

Curry. Curry is my favourite food. Having said that, Pizza Pieces is my favourite place to go eat. I've talked about it here and on Facebook how great it is. Dewar Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Love olives. Black olives, green olives, love them all. A pizza place by my house lists green olives as a free topping. Have to hook that up every time. 2

Though there were many a time when I was a young Niko where I had the canned crap and it was (and still is) fucking nasty. To this day if I see the canned stuff on a pizza or something I will either bitch about it, want to bitch about it or just pick them off and have the damn pizza. Depends on my mood. But once I remember trying Kalamata olives I was and still am hooked. Now anything is fair game be it pitted, stuffed or as is. Which reminds me I need to go to the market as the local one has a some pretty damn fine ones I like to get on payday. And of course olive oil is divine. I put that on damn near anything that makes sense for me to do so. As for lamb on pizza I tried ground lamb one time though forgot from where. But that was absolutely outstanding. I would think you can get away in a pinch with cut up gyro meat as that should work well with your supreme pizzas. Though the frozen Kronos brand is not quite my favorite. My dream would be to find a place that did real gyro meat and it also was a pizza place. It might be more pricey compared to Kronos but damn would it be oh so worth it.

As a tiny octopus I was not a fan. Stood out too much on a burger. Now I’m a fan and I feel it can add to a bite. Or even a spicy chicken sandwich, a bite with a good pickle can be a real treat. I think I just find it specifically weird that pickles are considered a complete weirdo pizza topping. I dunno, cutting up some baby dill pickles is a pretty easy way to (white person alert) jazz up your average grocery store pepperoni pizza, that's all I'm saying.

Octopus Posted November 10, 2023 Author Posted November 10, 2023 Ladies and gentlemen. I’ve been canceled on three times. I’m walking to Applebees. the floor is open for questions
Contentious C Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Has being within walking distance of Applebees made your quality of life better or worse? Additionally, is the "Octomorphs" show on the network going to be like "Animorphs", in that it's a depressing take on the horrors of war somehow marketed for tweens...but all the animals are octopi?

As an Applebeesian it has its ups and downs. But that’s just the hills on the way. Ironically, I moved. But I’m on the other side of the highway and basically the same distance from heaven. 8 minutes ago, Contentious C said: Additionally, is the "Octomorphs" show on the network going to be like "Animorphs", in that it's a depressing take on the horrors of war somehow marketed for tweens...but all the animals are octopi? Sadly I lost final cut on that. WarnerBrothersDiscoveryandFord did underhanded tactics to merge with the Octopus Network. It was very Animorphs like but sexier. Lots of earlobe. But now it’s pro-war and lots of hats. They barely even morph now. I’ve started a letter writing campaign to get @Dolfan in NYC to buy back my shares from WBD&F for me.

I’m not a storyteller. I keep things close to the chest. I haven’t been one to say something about someone every. Anything I’ve said has been lined with a heavy coat of old school morales and street ethics. The things I’ve learned better than anybody I’ve done so and I can tell someone if they ask because I’m a leader but reluctantly but I’ll never tell you the specifics of what I’ve done with who if it involves other people. I’m not one to mention he or she or say what this person did or that person is doing. The life experiences I’ve witnessed first hand is something I will take with me to the grave because when you ask and I look at you I’m going to look at you in a way where you know I’m not going to tell any tales out of school. I’m not a gossip nor an individual that has ever spoken to anyone or anything period. I’m silent in and out of professional and personal experiences. I’ve never said anything to anyone ever. But yes, I have beaten Samoa Joe in an arm wrestling match. 1

The Natural Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 Octopus: If you could meet any three famous people from your interests, whom would you choose? Me: Bret Hart, Bryan Danielson and the late great Kevin Conroy.

Me: Bret Hart, Bryan Danielson and the late great Kevin Conroy. So I’ve been thinking on this for a bit. I was going to do an all movie list, as to capitalize on where I want to go and what I’d get the most out of. But, it might be more ~fun~ to narrow it down to one per interest. Also going to choose only living people just to narrow it down more. Themes I’m going with: Film, Wrestling, and Philosophy. So… for Film this was the toughest one. Especially living, lol. I was thinking of Bela Tarr, but I know someone that he was a mentor roll in a school program for a project she did and he was awesome but struggling physically with age. I don’t want to conjure him up and have him have a hard time. David Lynch would be a dream, but I think the parallel nature of how he talks would be good if it was me choosing 3 filmmakers but not narrowing down to 1. Paul Thomas Anderson was another one that would be huge. Just getting advice from him how to navigate the system while still making your own projects would be HUGE. But for this, I’m going with Apichatpong Weerasethakul. I absolutely love his work and getting his perspective on the process of filmmaking and the art of it would be amazing. Also, he was chipping away at a smaller level more recently and getting the same type of questions for where I want to be he might be perfect to talk with. For wrestling I have one that surprises me. I’d love to talk with Tony Khan. Especially if it was a long convo, I think it would be so fun. I love hearing from wrestlers, but as a guy that played EWR and imagines storylines and loves watching older matches, Khan would be such a blast. I also feel he wears his heart on his sleeve where I know he’s likely not lying or bending truths like a lot of old timers in the wrestling industry lovingly do. Regal would be the best to long form listen to, but with him I’d sit and happily listen. With Khan I can be like, “hey, remember this match? Cool.” Maybe he’d make me Director of Food and Beverage afterwards. I was trying to think of my third interest that I’d want to learn more about. I don’t play music, but I’d love to have a convo with Buckethead. There isn’t really a beer guy I want to learn from in a top three sense. Most political people are blowhards. Same with business people. But I could make money from it. I’ll choose Philosophy, with the exception that I’ll read up and get caught up on things beforehand. Slavoj Zizek is such a character that it would be both fun to listen to, but also great to ask all sorts of questions to. He can also dissect films philosophically which would be fun. Derp. 2
