Craig Kimbrel got charged with 3 pitch clock violations in the bottom of the 9th today

The Nevada Legislature, who hates fun, approved the A's stadium deal.  The Governor is expected to sign it, which paves the way for the A's move.

Noted piece of crap, Rob Manfred is trying to blame the city of Oakland for the move and that he "felt sorry for the people of Oakland."   The mayor instantly called him out on his bullshit.

Suppose this is my cue to finally figure out if there’s a way to stream Nippon Pro Baseball

Acuna has reached 15/30 in just 70 games. His HR pace is slow enough he may not get the 40/40 (unless he goes on a tear, which he does sometimes), but 30/60 would be pretty cool and also a 'first'. Between finally being fully healthy, slightly bigger bases, and the new pitching rules he's just been stealing up a storm this year.

I always thought someone like the Four Letter could get the NBL rights cheap and they would probably filler during off-peak hours, plus would prob give you decent ratings in places like NYC, SF and Seattle.

but that was also me just hoping to get selfishly get to watch The Giants in days before the internet and streaming.

A modern day Eric Davis! Davis had 27/80 and 37/50 seasons back when he was looking like a HOFer before his kidney injury and host of other health issues.

David Freese has declined to be inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame

Freese, along with Jose Oquendo and Max Lanier, was selected earlier this year to be inducted via a fan vote

While not expressly said - the tone of his statement makes is seem like he doesn't believe he is worthy of being inducted

Giants shut out the Dodgers 15-0 in LA last night which is, checks notes, LA's worst shutout loss at home since 1898

In one of the more awkward things you will see - the Braves had scheduled Charlie Culberson's Dad to throw out the first pitch before today's game (being Father's Day and all)

One problem - Culberson got DFAed before the game

(The team switched to Michael Harris' dad throwing out the first pitch)

I went to the game on Saturday. It's just a fun team and atmosphere to experience. I hope the Braves can get another world series run in them with a health Acuna since he was injured for the 2021 run. He's a special player.

The Rays benched Wander Franco last night and will again tonight due “clubhouse behavior”

In one of those weird quirks of baseball - the Yanks got crushed by the Mariners last night. Since they were losing 10-0 they used utility player Isiah Kiner-Falefa to pitch the 9th

In the bottom of the 9th - IKF hit a 2 run HR thus becoming the first Yankee pitcher to hit a HR since 1972 (the year prior to the DH being introduced to the AL)

I thought Rick Rhoden or Rick Rheushel hit a HR while a Yankee.  Maybe it was just they were used as a DH on a day they didn't pitch.

Yeah - it technically is "when pitching" (or some world salad like that)

maybe if the Rays move from emulating the 1990s/2000s Oakland As to emulating the 1970s Oakland As, they'll have more drama and also win some rings

Last night's Rays/Royals game had the Rays showing a little bit of how they started off so well, and they also had an inning end with a runner tagged out between 2nd and 3rd because he fell down and the Rays gave up the final run of the game because the first baseman and pitcher couldn't complete a lateral (first baseman moving away from the bag, trying to pitch it to the pitcher who had already run past him)

The Rays are likely to look better vs the Royals in the 2 games where Wander plays than the two games where Wander doesn't play.

Also giving someone 2 days off so they can return vs Jordan Lyles is a heck of a "benching you for the first quarter of this non-conference SEC game" punishment
