jaedmc Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Been a huge fan of Shavkat for a while so I'm happy to see him getting a little hype train going from this fight. Entertaining night so far.
Elsalvajeloco Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 That was a very Jon Moxley like finish there.
The Natural Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) The way Alexa Grasso took the back and got the rear naked choke in on Valentina Shevchenko in R4. New UFC Women's Flyweight Champion! Edited March 5, 2023 by The Natural 1
DreamBroken Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 ALEXA FUCKING GRASSO! Absolutely beautiful finish! I love it 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 That was what I hoping for from Alexa Grasso when I first saw her in Invicta several years back. The striking was never in question. It was can she put together everything else. For her to beat Valentina Shevchenko by submission is freaking absurd. 1
The Natural Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) First time Shevchenko has ever lost by submission. Edited March 5, 2023 by The Natural 1
The Natural Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Realised that the two longest UFC Women's Championship reigns: UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko and UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes both ended by rear naked chokes, Alexa Grasso on Shevchenko and Julianna Pena to Nunes. Both big upsets as well.
TheVileOne Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Damn, I never thought Valentina was ever losing that title. That's eight defenses. I think that's the closest anyone ever came to matching Anderson Silva's middleweight title run.
The Natural Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) I'm still shocked. Edited March 5, 2023 by The Natural
The Natural Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Easy win for Jon Jones. Takes Cyril Gane down and taps him out with the guillotine. The new UFC Heavyweight Champion.

The Natural Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Jon Jones joins Randy Couture and Daniel Cormier as the only men to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship and UFC Heavyweight Championship.
Elsalvajeloco Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 If it happens in July, I don't like Stipe's chances.

Hate to look past Stipe, but here is my pipe dream: This is gonna end like the Ali and Frazier heavyweight title controversy where they had a tournament for Ali's titles once he was stripped of his titles and Frazier ended up fighting and beating the eventual winner, Jimmy Ellis. Once Ali came back and had an adequate tuneup against Jerry Quarry, we got the Fight of the Century versus Joe Frazier to prove who the legit heavyweight champion was. The end game has to be Jon Jones vs. Francis Ngannou. There is going to be too much money to turn down for any party.
