Control Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Kento Vs Nakajima is currently at 9.73 on Cagematch. 1
Evil Otto Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 It was a tremendous match. It was streaming live on Abema following the G1, so I was lucky enough to catch it. Incredibly tense, as you might expect.
Control Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Gotta appreciate Kento following Jake Lee to his new promotion and taking the main event spot from him. 2
Dragon Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Suwama and Tamura won the UN tag titles. The belts are approved by PWF but owned by Tenryu Pro. GLEAT Kota Ibushi's sumo Hall team: Kota Ibushi, Shuji Ishikawa, Hagane Shinno, Daisuke Sekimoto, Yumehito Imanari.
lostinube Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 The Douki (with J5Gs included) shampoo commercial. I think it might only be for the G-1 shows - as in on the screen at the arena during breaks. Not sure. Anyway, he says that it seems familiar and that's because it's basically the current Merit shampoo spot with the J5Gs swapped in (someone links it in response to Douki). And Douki gets to do the mom's hair toss at the end.
Dragon Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Kento will make important serious announcement tomorrow.

Dragon Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 All that for a hashtag. At least it wasn't anything bad.
Thomas Bugg Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 (edited) Did anyone see the AJPW card from Sunday at Shin-Kiba? Anything worth checking out? Edited July 20, 2023 by Thomas Bugg
Dragon Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 It was obvious going to happen, but Yuma Aoyagi retained the Triple Crown. Sumawa is the next challenger. If Suwama loses then "old"AJPW is done, and Yuma becomes the symbol of AJPW. Yuma seems to be face of the new era (not ace though). Might be Suwama's last time challenging for the Triple Crown. https://news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/dabbd8d6e90e92a233522c423401cd44b2294f8e http://dx-sp.gsj.bz/dxnews.Index/detail/?news_id=20230722002&organization_id=01&company_id=03&contents_id=2 1
Dragon Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 AJPW Both set of tag champs retained their respective tag titles. Yuji Nagata and Honda are the next challengers for the World tags. DDT Zack Ryder won the Universal title, his next challenger is MAKI ITOH. You can tell Maki Itoh will be replacing Saki Akai as the Chyna of DDT. Yanno woman competing with men in ring, not the muscles. Zack appeared with a replica of the WWE Women's tag belt in tribute of his wife. Other stuff happened but you can do it yourself. 1
Dragon Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 After 23 years, Zero-One's ring announcer Okki Okita announced that he will graduate from Zero-One on the finals of the Fire Festival. He originally worked for AJW starting in 1994. Then he left for アルシオン or Alcyon. 1

Dragon Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Zero 1 Junya Matsunaga (27) won the 2023 Fire Festival, he wants Zero One to move on from old man pro wrestling. 1

Curt McGirt Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 There should be a Beat the Clock rule for this one like the GUNTHER/Gable match on Raw last night. How fast does it take to get to Nagoya from Tokyo on the bullet?

How fast does it take to get to Nagoya from Tokyo on the bullet? If they stick to the schedule, Nozomi 371 (for some reason that poster has it as 317 but the site says 371) leaves Tokyo at 13:09 and arrives in Nagoya at 14:45. That is with two scheduled stops towards the beginning of the trip. I think that's why they chose this route because it will go over an hour uninterrupted by any stops. Before people get too excited, they are only renting one car for this. They won't be fighting throughout the entire train.
Dragon Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Suwama vs Jun shoot stuff going on in articles. https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/271592 https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/271476 Anyway for DDT, I haven't found or seen the Main Road term brought up in awhile for DDT. Was it dropped? I'm gonna have to refer Jun's teachings as Baba-ism, which is what it is generically called in Japan. The term Royal Road is only for AJPW primarily. The comedy and Sports Entertainment has it own term, 文化系プロレス or Cultural Pro Wrestling.
Teflon Turtle Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 So between Kaito Kiyomia’s matches in the G1, and some of these DDT match announcements, I’m contemplating a Wrestle Universe subscription. Anybody else on the board have that service/do you find it’s worth it?
