    Mad Max

The Mad Max movies are my favorite trilogy. The original and sequel are untouchable. The third has some major problems, especially when those kids show up, but it starts great and also has one of the best shots ever filmed towards the end. I was simultaneously ecstatic and wary when they announced Mad Max: Fury Road (expecting some awful director to be attached), but once I heard George Miller was at the helm again I've been eagerly awaiting it. I know Tom Hardy is much loved on this board, and I like him don't get me wrong, but I actually think if Mel wasn't going to do it the first dude Miller should have turned to for Max Rockatansky is Eric Bana. He was so good in Chopper and Munich, and he just seems like a perfect choice for Max to me. But Tom Hardy was cast and he has big shoes to fill. I will avoid all spoilers and try to keep a bit of distance from too much leaked footage / pictures, etc., because I want to be blown away in the theater. NO ONE films "car chases" like George Miller, and I think he will bring the goods for this. Easily the film I'm most looking forward to.
