  1. WWE's more than welcome to do things however they want. From a financial standpoint, WWE made a ton of money this weekend so they have zero reason to change anything. My opinion on their shows is completely irrelevant, as is anyone else's.
  2. I remember being at a Raw in 2000 or 2001 and seeing the Mean Street Posse in a dark match. I got some REALLY weird looks when I cheered for the Posse winning. (Quick check of historyofwwe.com reveals that it was June of 2000 with Joey Abs and Rodney beating the Dupps.) I also remember them losing to jobbers on a syndie taping thanks to Kaientai's interference.
  3. I appreciate the fact that, per the ingredient list, Big E Langston's first name is officially "Big".
  4. For such a huge show, the status quo was barely altered (moreso if Ryder drops the I-C tonight on Raw).
  5. Lana and Steph looked hot. Preshow matches felt like regular TV matches for the most part. Ladder match was fun, though I'm personally burnt out on the multi-man schmozzes. Ryder winning was a nice surprise. Styles-Jericho was one of several cases where a good match was overshadowed by a questionable result. I try to avoid going this mental route, but New Day really had their balls cut off there. Was worried about Big E when he hit the floor after that spear through the ropes. Womens' match was probably my favorite of the night. I'm a total fanboy for Sasha and thought she had a great outing. Charlotte's moonsault to the floor was pretty great as well. Though the title should have changed hands, but oh well. Hey, Ray Gordy got a WrestleMania moment. Hey, Tatanka. DDP. All right. I'm fine with Baron Corbin winning, though they could have hyped his participation beforehand or something. He was one NXT guy who had the size to make an impact in a battle royal setting, unlike Itami who had a forgettable appearance last year. God bless Bo Dallas. Main event was...there. HHH busted out some different stuff, particularly the neckbreaker off the table and the flying kneedrop with Roman in the ropes.
  6. "The Either-Shut-Up-And-Watch-Or-Turn-Off-The-TV Era" doesn't have the same ring to it.
  7. NXT women's division needs some new blood in a major way if Bayley and Emma are going to the main roster. Hopefully Athena debuts on TV soon. Yeahhhhh, TakeOver set the bar VERY high for this weekend... ‪#‎yaywrestling‬
  8. God damn it, you beat me to it. #dirtsheetsneversaidthat
  9. Yup, it's been cool to see Trevor in my neck of the woods. He had a few weird style-clash matches around here with people like Jon Gresham that turned out pretty well.
  10. Quite a time in wrestling when the current TNA Champion and a current WWE/NXT competitor can be the tag champs of a major indie promotion.
  11. That match makes me wish they still did time-limit draws.
  12. I'm cool with 2000-era HHH putting on good matches. I'd be okay with HHH sticking around active competition in an in-character vain attempt to prove that he is still at the same level.
  13. Women's wrestling had been established as a strong part of the show with Paige-Emma and then Charlotte-Natalya. Sasha-Becky was a match that (IMO) raised the bar in the sense of "I knew it'd be good, but I had no idea it'd be THAT good". The two Takeover matches between Sasha and Bayley had lofty expectations and lived up to them, especially in the case of the Ironman/woman match where they were put in the position to have a great match and delivered. I say this despite the fact that I abstained from voting.
  14. The show peaked VERY early with the Shane elbowdrop spot; that probably didn't help the segments that went on late.
  15. Waiting for a St. Louis area stop, though I don't know where they'd run. Chaifetz(where TNA ran a few times)? Family Arena(also used by TNA)? Gateway Center in Collinsville(where ROH runs)?
  16. I don't doubt that the matches will be really good. The most frustrating thing is that there's so much talent on this roster and so little direction.
  17. I'm in the same boat. I honestly wasn't paying attention during the first Authority promo segment and turned off the TV before the final segment. I was burned out by the time the six-man tag happened and I wasn't even in the arena (those fans had the tapings for the rest of the week to sit through). My primary hope for Paige-Emma was "I hope this gets more than thirty seconds". Shane's big elbowdrop was pretty impressive, though I wish he'd moved Taker a bit closer as he just barely hit it. Kofi beating Del Rio would have been huge, like, five months ago.
  18. I feel like I'm reading the wrestling-fan equivalent of Fox News viewers on here sometimes. (Or MSNBC, depending on your leanings.)
  19. At least we can all agree that wrestling fans are shitty, shitty people.
  20. Whatever people chant: WWE still has their ticket money, so they win.
