  1. Well, I don't think JMT would get headliner spot at Roo, but who knows? I think that the repeat headliner thing would confirm Mumford too, which honestly, if you've seen Mumford by now (and most people that would care have), do you really need to see them again? I enjoyed their live act, but they should not in the "I've seen them 20 times" category. I guess that means who would be your top Legacy bill for repeats. Pearl Jam? Bruce Springsteen? Phish or Widespread?
  2. Lorde in the XX spot on Friday night would be perfect for a late night. Although, I wonder if they'd want her to be fairly uncontested for a good turnout. Bonnaroo is going to need to land a unicorn to convince me to scrape up the cash to go. I know most people would hate this, but I hope the John Mayer Trio rumors are true.
  3. Governor's Ball dropped theirs early this morning to no fanfare. I'm going to say I prefer this lineup over Coachella's at initial glance. EDIT: It looks like Twistof was right. Bonnaroo site is down for possible site redesign, which means we are probably getting BLAM on Tuesday.
  4. I really liked Edge of Tomorrow. It has an outside chance at making my top 10-20. I actually had it ranked ahead of Guardians, but I think my second viewing of Guardians has elevated it for me somewhat.
  5. GovBall shared Jack White last year. Kanye played GovBall in 2012. If the website design changes this week, we will know the lineup is upon us, but Bonnaroo normally makes the lineup announcement an event, or has the last 2-3 years at least. I'd imagine they will want to do the same again this year. Also, this has to be the fewest confirmations I've ever seen on Inforoo by this time of the year. I normally have a pretty solid grasp on the undercard by now, and there's what less than 20 names confirmed. Most of which are lower in profile.
  6. I bet Bonnaroo announces their lineup Valentines week as is the norm for them. Remember, they have to film some crazy, over the top video to release it. Then again, Bonnaroo leaving the presale open until New Year's was not normal for them,so I don't know what they're doing this year.
  7. I hope to see a few more shows in 2015. At the moment, I have the following shows on my tentative schedule. 1/25 - St. Paul & the Broken Bones - Pensacola, FL 2/6 - Umphrey's McGee - Ryman Auditorium - Nashville, TN 4/11 - The Decemberists - Atlanta, GA 4/26 - Wilco - Tallahassee, FL (Already have tickets to this one).
  8. Since I don't think I could rename the other topic, I thought we would start anew for 2015. The Coachella lineup was officially announced today. The undercard is really solid; however, I do not think this is by any means a mind-blowing lineup. I think this is going to be par the course for major US festivals.
  9. I paid for this and watched the replay at 7EST. I really enjoyed this show. Outside of front-loading too many tags early in the card, I thought this show did a great job of offering variety throughout the card, and the big spots felt important because noone went overkill with the high spots. I was a little surprised by who went over in the main event, but I can understand the logic of doing that if it leads to the FINAL ENCOUNTER down the line. Nakamura/Ibushi is going to be tough to unseat as my match of the year. I have never experienced a match that flipped the switch from "this is okay" into "I want to stand up and applaud both guys for letting me witness this clsasic!"
  10. No problem. Just trying to get extra ears for both of us haha.
  11. This is awful. His ESPYS speech was powerful and had me tear up a few months ago.
  12. I forgot people turned off sigs here. I remember it being a bigger issue on the old green board, so I never think about it. http://wrestlerevue.libsyn.com/ Petey (Pete) has been on a couple of eps as well that discussed some of the ROH glory years. Both are really good episodes as well.
  13. I was actually in my wrestling hiatus phase, but the hype over the Manhattan Mayhem II match in 07 was enough for me to seek it out and watch it. I knew at the time that it would have been my match of the year for that year even if I had watched a lot more wrestling in 2007.
  14. I think their third match is the best match in the trilogy. It plays off of the first two matches very well with a heightened sense of urgency. I've been meaning to go through my Danielson/Nigel comp from ROH, so this will be a good excuse to do that. I have seen most ROH shows between 03 and 05 and a few ones from 06. I don't think there's too much post-Gabe that I am terribly high on wrestling-wise.
  15. Think it will be 7pm for the replay, but 2 or 3 am if you want to watch it live. That isn't the case for some people though. On my cable system (Cox) the PPV is first shown at 7:00 PM because for some reason it more important to show the UFC PPV 3 or 4 times in a row. So I am stuck trying to figure out if I want to watch it live with Japanese commentary on NPWWorld or wait until Sunday night and avoid spoilers like a mother to buy the PPV. To be fair, it'll be a lot easier to avoid NJPW spoilers than WWE ones.
  16. I will try to type some thoughts on various albums and make arguments for what I have enjoyed this year over the weekend; however, here are a few albums I have not noticed mentioned here. Most of these you've obviously seen plugged elsewhere, but I figured they shouldn't slip past anyone's radar. Broken Bells After the Disco Damien Rice My Favourite Faded Fantasy St. Paul & the Broken Bones Half the City Jenny Lewis The Voyager St. Vincent St. Vincent Hozier Hozier
  17. I think the sound editing was the most impressive aspect of Halo 4. You have to commend 343 for wanting to deliver as authentic of an experience as possible.
  18. I don't go too crazy with what I buy anymore. Since Black Friday, I picked up the Tati Set, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I was hoping to pick that up for Christmas/Shopping but didn't see the Blu-Ray for under $30-ish bucks. Tati set sounds nice, too, but I really only need 'Play Time'. I price-matched Amazon to score Guardians for $20. I don't buy a lot anymore, and I try not to buy a lot of blockbuster/mainstream stuff anymore just because how easy it is to access within a couple months, but my fiance didn't see Guardians in the theaters and I wanted her to see it.
  19. I don't go too crazy with what I buy anymore. Since Black Friday, I picked up the Tati Set, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
  20. I left everything at default just because the computer I was on was terrible, and I did not really know where to look for the right choices.
  21. I am going to throw a YES to Nagata vs. Marufuji as well. I too think it was 100 degrees in that building because these two had little in the tank down the stretch; however, they persevered and told a compelling story with Marufuji surviving an absolute beating to keep looking for enough sustainable offense to be Nagata. Yuji definitely owned the stage as the grumpy old ace in this match who always felt in control.
  22. I would recommend everyone get on letterboxd and keep track of how they rated things on there as well. It's going to help me with my list this year. Although, I admittedly have not seen a lot this year, and letterboxd goes by IMDB I believe, so a lot of 2014 stuff is categorized as 2013 or even 2012. You can follow me at: http://www.letterboxd.com/mattbolin/
  23. Michigan overpaying Harbaugh at least twice what he's worth may be the most modern-era Michigany thing ever. I wonder after two years if the fans are going to be crying for a refund on Harbaugh or if they are going to go full-fledged Nebraska and silently admit that their glory years are gone for good.
  24. This would potentially be my guess for the card right now. Wrestlemania Host - "Stone Cold" Steve Austin Cena or Lesnar vs. Reigns (could go either way. Let's just guess Lesnar for the purposes of this card.). Orton vs. Rollins (Your highest profile match involving two still relatively full time guys) HHH vs. Sting Cena vs. Rusev (If Cena loses to Brock). Bray Wyatt vs. Undertaker (I honestly can't see this happening. I think Taker's health seems fairly apparent at this point) Dolph vs. Barrett IC Title (Just seems logical and the IC title should start being higher in profile). Four Way Tag Titles (possibly? I could see it being Usos vs. Dust Bros vs. Ascension vs. ???) That still leaves you with Ambrose, Ryback and potentially Wyatt with nothing to do at the moment. I am also not sure if a guy like Cesaro makes the card this year or if you carry Miz and Mizdow out until Mania before they have their match.
  25. I don't try to do this a lot, but I would appreciate if you guys would give the podcast that I frequently listen to a shot. The information on it is in my signature. I know it needs some work, but constructive feedback is always useful.
