When Bryan returns I doubt we even see him in the title picture again. No way Reigns wins his first title at MITB, they'd save that for Wrestlemania. I can really see only Orton or Cena winning tonight, Orton if they want to surprise us and Cena if they are sticking with their current plans.
I doubt they'd give Reigns his first title at Wrestlemania. I think Cena's the last guy to have his first world title win come at Wrestlemania.

How relevant to this discussion is Mick Foley's anti-hardcore ECW heel run?
-
Eventually have Daniel Bryan beat him . Ultimate Underdog who everyone loves come back from injury and surgery to get the World Title back by beating the monster who broke the Streak and is also the Champ. If you stick the belt on Brock, what's your end game for getting the belt off of him? Can you see anyone in the briefcase match successfully cashing it in on him?
What's your plan B if Bryan ends up being out longer than expected and you run into a problem of Lesnar not having enough available dates for him to be available to defend the title at a PPV?
-
Brock as champ is the easiest thing to book.
1) Beat Cena at Summer Slam
2) Beat Cena again at NoC (I'd like to cut this step out, but the WWEWHC kinda has to be at NoC)
3) Beat Cesaro at Survivor Series (or Orton because it's in St. Louis)
4) Beat whichever of Cesaro/Orton didn't get used at the Rumble
5) Bryan wins the Rumble
6) Mania writes itself
7) Rollins is the first to hold the MITB case for the full year, setting up a double cash-in threat at MITB 15.
Given the limited dates on Brock's contract, does this mean you might not have him defending the title on at least some of: Night of Champions, Hell in a Cell, TLC, and Elimination Chamber?

If they dump Simmons from the draft show, they'd just replace him with a Stephen A. Smith-centric broadcast.

I'm kind of curious what type of push "the locker room" expected for Ryder. I think most people would agree they could do more with him than they are now (or have been for the last 2+ years), but realistically, the guy's ceiling is face Miz.
If his ceiling is face Miz, does that mean he can main event Wrestlemania?
I don't see a problem with feeding Ryder to Kane in a build to Kane/Cena. I'd argue they should have kept Ryder as Cena's little buddy who gets dragged into any feud where Cena needs a tag partner. Imagine how Cena feuding with the Wyatts could have been improved and extended if it involved Bray Wyatt trying to get Ryder to turn on Cena.

The biggest heel in wrestling is WWE creative. The idea top heel is someone who is good in the ring but who fans think is mediocre/bad and over-pushed. The best way to get a face over is to make fans think he's being held back.

I think a real problem is that Cesaro should be in the briefcase match because the possibility of him cashing it in on the winner of Cena-Lesnar makes that match much more interesting.

Thanks, LC.
I needed the shred of hope.
Hey, an oversized point guard. Should go well with that collection of undersized 2 guards who keep getting lined up at the point!
You're getting a guy coming off of a ACL injury, but you're getting a guy who was a likely first-round pick if he hadn't been injured, so you're getting a potential steal if he recovers fully. So, it feels like a good gamble for a second-round pick.

Can this Dinwiddie kid shoot? Can he guard people on the perimeter? Can he make it so Jennings and Smith stop taking mid-range jumpers?
He's a 6'6" guard who insists that he is a point guard, so he could theoretically be in a position to avoid passing the ball to Jennings and Smith when it looks like they are going to take a bad mid-range jumper. He shot a decent percentage on threes. He has a nice wingspan that could help his defense.
So, there's a little bit of hope for you that is likely to get crushed during the season.
-
Well, now the talking heads need to find a new guy to hype for 10 or 15 picks.
Thanasis Atetokoumpo? The Mayor?
-
I am hoping Cena wins so we get Cena-Brock the rematch at SummerSlam. No one else in that match vs Brock really intrigues me, Reigns is facing HHH and Brock smashing Cena again will make up for a month of Cena garbage on Raw.
You have no interest in a Cesaro-Lesnar match with Heyman pacing on the sidelines?

Bogdan Bogdanovic wins best name of the draft.
Do you think Spencer Dinwiddie offers any competition?
-
Huh I didn't know you can draft players from the developmental league. I thought the teams were in partners with NBA teams like a double A baseball team
Some guys are. Other players are just there, and not necessarily under contract to a team.
It's basically underclassmen who left college after the draft and maybe guys who are not old enough or removed enough from high school to be draft-eligible.

Isn't McGary a stretch this early?
It's been rumored for a while that he had a first round promise. It's been said he was going to slip no further than OKC at 29, with San Antonio at 30 and Milwaukee at 31 also interested.

Orlando gonna get Fran Vasquez'ed!!!
Woj reporting Saric is going to Philly.

I give McDermott January before he starts breaking down due to being overworked by Thibs.
Maybe his minutes will increase similar to how Jimmy Butler's did.

I don't think a lottery pick comparing himself to Wally Szczerbiak would fill that fan base with much in the way of positivity or hope.
Wally World was a one-time All-Star, which would be a positive return for most picks.
-
So with all the talk before the draft ie last day or so was about how many teams were in postions to trade am i correct in the fact that there hasnt been a trade yet?
There's usually a delay because these trades are conditional on who is available at certain spots.
Adrian Woj has tweeted that Payton may be on the move. Based on past rumors, the Suns could be involved.

I don't think Rondo is being traded. I think Smart starts the season coming off the bench behind Rondo and Bradley.
-
Rumblings of Boston and Sacramento talking about a non-Rondo trade involving Ben McLemore and the 6th pick.
-
The Cavaliers plan on trying to acquire Joel Anthony and Kelly Olynyk from Boston and Cory Joseph from San Antonio so that they can field a lineup of Anthony, Olynyk (or Thompson), Bennett, Wiggins, and Joseph.

Which additional talent do you want them to release so they can pay Lesnar more money?
