  1. They should put it on Hunter. May as well go full heel troll with it.  Have Bryan come back and win it at SummerSlam.

Wouldn't full heel troll be putting it on someone like Ziggler then having HHH squash him for the title the next night on Raw?  Is there a better option than Ziggler for that plan?

  2. It might be time for the WWE to drop the mentality that the world title has to be defended at every single PPV. The UFC/MMA style of building up to big world title matches would be a better way to go. But if they insist on having a champion they should do the Interim route and just have Bryan come back when hes fully healed to face who ever that is.

TNA had a stretch where they seemed to do a title defense every other PPV.  Maybe it was a way to avoid having Jarrett keep the belt via non-clean method every single month, but it didn't feel right.

  3. I fear Cena-Orton part 47465 if either of them wins the title but this could be spun to create a new star. Could...

Given a forced choice, would you prefer champ Cena vs non-Orton challengers or champ Orton vs non-Cena challengers?

I don't think this is the right time to put the belt on a new guy, unless you think he can overcome the perception of being a paper champion who is just holding the belt until Bryan comes back.  It needs to be someone who gives you the option of losing the title back to a returning Daniel Bryan at Battleground.

  4. If you want to specifically troll Johns, you should probably have her dismembered on the way to death...

She's based on Johns' dead sister, so if I thought that Johns had ruined my favorite characters, I would troll him by creating a fan comic in which she is brutally gang-raped and then killed in some plane-related death.  And I'd try to use some Greg Land-style tracing using real photographs of his sister.

Generally speaking, I am in favor of occasionally creating audience surrogates who viewers are supposed to identify with, giving them a crowning moment of awesome, then treating them brutally and making the audience hurt.  You can't have nice things (at least, not for long) and you don't deserve to be happy.  You should only kill off main characters after getting fans to fall in love with them and identify with them.  Or if the actor is leaving the show.

This may just be me being a psychological sadist who gets off on causing pain, but only mental pain and not physical pain.

  5. Let me help you Stennick.

The North is in the North.  The Wall is on the northern edge of the North.  The Wildlings are coming from north of the Wall.  The Iron Islands are west of the North.  Dragonstone is an island that is southeast of the North off the east coast.  King's Landing is south of Dragonstone and well south of the North.  Everyone is Westeros who is not a Wildling is south of the North.

Dany is far across the sea on another continent.  If it's not Egypt or South Africa, you can lump it all together as one faraway exotic location where you don't need to be able to place them on a map.  (I can tell the difference between African countries, but for practical purposes, Americans don't really need to know them.)

  6. I look forward to the escape and kill-crazy rampage that Tyrion will likely go on. I suspect he and Bran mend fences and then kick all kinds of ass.

    Does Shae die? Probably so.

    Tywin? Almost certainly.

Cersei? Maybe, but that would leave us short of heels whispering in Tommen's ear.

    Merwyn Fucking Trant? Very likely.

Jamie? Not a chance. I have a funny feeling that he winds up Hand of the King.

That should be a sufficient bloodbath for the next two episodes. Oh, and the Hound will likely die of his infection (unless he gets so sick that he can't resist treatment.) I can see that happening, but it's probably wishful thinking as GRRM has a tendency to kill of characters I like. (Wait, what am I saying, he kills off characters I don't like as well. Come to think of it, GOT follows Joe Bob Briggs' first rule of a slasher film.

"Anyone can die at any moment."

For that matter it also follows rule #2

    "The innocent must suffer."

This feels like it should be in the other thread.

  7. The one rumor I saw rumbling around is the tentative plan for Cesaro to win MITB, Brock beat Bryan at Summerslam, and Cesaro turn face by cashing in.

That is a three-way feud I would be very happy to see.

I think Bryan barely beating Lesnar, Cesaro immediately cashing in, then Heyman screwing Cesaro by setting him up in a match against Lesnar and turning on him would be a better story, with both Bryan and Cesaro chasing Brock.

  8. If Bryan is out and they want to set up Bryan/Brock for Summerslam or Night of Champions, I say they should use Dolph Ziggler as a transitional champion who wins MITB then gets completely mauled by Lesnar in a title match on Raw that is pure squash.  Maybe set it up by having Heyman approaching Ziggler about becoming a Paul Heyman guy and getting rebuffed.  Or Ziggler agreeing and signing what he thinks is a personal services contract but is actually a match contract to defend against Lesnar.  But, basically, Ziggler gets to die for our entertainment against a pure killing machine.

What I really want, though, is for Heyman to acquire a tag team and have his stable feud with the Wyatts after he tries to poach Luke Harper.

  9. So WWE is kind of terrible of booking smaller babyfaces to look strong as champ. Part of me kind of thinks Bryan's almost better off chasing again. Part of me realizes this HAS to be blatantly wrong, but if the options are "Shitty title reign" or "Decent comeback story - chase for the title," well.....

Who are the best-booked smaller babyface champions in US-based major promotions (major enough to have some super heavyweights on its roster, let's say)?

The best way to make Daniel Bryan look strong would be for them to come up with an acceptable way for Daniel Bryan to stick Stephanie in the Yes Lock, then have Bryan successfully and decisively fend off HHH when he comes looking for revenge.

  10. So, there is no good reason.

It would be fair to compare him to Dusty Baker, so it depends on if you think a team would have a good reason to fire Dusty Baker after he takes them to the playoffs.

  11. From the Observer, as cut-and-pasted in another forum:

"The problem is that Bryan’s rehabilitation of his right arm is going slower than anticipated. One person said that not only is he not makings gains, but he’s actually losing strength in the arm while doing rehab, which is concerning. Bryan was in Indianapolis for Raw and backstage, his situation was the most talked about thing among those in power. He was sent back to Pittsburgh to see Dr. Joseph Maroon, who did his neck surgery, to see what was wrong. Bryan will return on the 6/9 Raw for another confrontation with Stephanie.

Because of that, there was no certainty and they created the Money in the Bank backup plan because they didn’t want to do a PPV without the world title at stake. The idea is Payback had it at stake in the angle.

Nothing is definite. There is a feeling, knowing Bryan’s wanting to be in the thick of things and mental toughness, that even if it’s not the right thing for him, that he’ll wrestle on 6/29. There is tremendous real life pressure being put on him right now to be ready, whether direct or just implied.

As of right now, if Bryan doesn’t work, they will do a ladder match for the title. They are considering a second ladder match where the winner would have the briefcase, but right now they are going with the idea Bryan vs. Kane will headline."

Can Bryan pull it together for long enough to work a heavily-protected match at MITB where he beats Kane then has the briefcase cashed in on him immediately?  If so, who do you put in that role?

If Bryan could be healthy, the idea of Cena winning the briefcase and Wyatt crowing that Cena will show his true face and ambush Bryan at some point could be an excellent angle.

  12. Has Elliot Rodger primed the internet to go into a shitstorm over alleged misogyny when Tyrion kills Shae?  Will the book-reading portion internet go nuts if he doesn't strangle her?  Do you want the show to be uber-faithful to that scene?

  13. Can someone tell me why Lionel Hollins was fired in the first place? Seriously. He got swept by the Spurs. It wasn't like he was a #1 seed in 2007 getting upset by the Golden State Warriors led by Stephen Jackson.

Resistance to advanced analytics and personality conflicts with people who are strong advocates of analytics.

  14.

I think bringing up a new Shield member would be bad for everyone. Even if it was someone comparably talented like Zayn, he'd still be living in Rollins' shadow, and presumably the whole point of this is to push Rollins which means he needs to beat some guys now. You might be able to get away with jobbing Rollins once or twice if he gets MITB, but you have to be careful not to turn him into Sandow type.

I don't get why people want another member. I think it's time to see if the Shield guys can survive shitty booking. We know they can do tag matches til Kingdom Come, but what happens when they aren't in the spot light, like many many of the guys go through at one point..

Would you rather see HHH/Orton/Rollins vs Ambrose/Reigns/new member or HHH/Orton/Rollins vs Ambrose/Reigns/Cena?  (Moving Cena into this role would allow Bray Wyatt to move on to someone else.)

  15. There is no such thing as a friendly or compassionate insurance company. I don't give a shit if their spokesperson is Alec Trebek, Flo, or a cute lizard; they are all built with the idea that you are betting against yourself and they have a huge staff of lawyers and claims adjusters whose bonuses are predicated on how many people they can screw out of how much. Fuck 'em all.

I want to make a movie that's kind of like Falling Down, except a guy goes nuts against insurance executives who screwed his family.  I bet I can get an audience to cheer scenes of torture and death.

  16. Not sure the reaction this will draw but here goes...

Michael Cole was saying something tonight that people are buying into the Wyatt message and the family is growing. It made me wonder: should they add someone to the family at this point? Would it throw off the chemistry? And if they did do they bring in a developmental guy or have a guy on the roster currently join so they have more of an effect?
