  1. Necro is a native of Morgantown, WV, and it is my understanding that he is back in the WV area now (married/dating a woman from that area). A small time two-bit carny worker from the Pittsburgh area that can no longer get booked by any of the legit promotions in that area started up his own promotion a few years ago running in PA south of Pitt. It is my understanding he lost his access to a PA license, so he recently started trying to run the Wheeling, WV area. So, this guy started advertising Necro for a show via youtube videos. Necro was actually in the videos promising "family friendly action", and that he "would be there". I guess when the show rolled around, the total attendance was 16, of which 8 were paid. The main event was a scheduled "8-man scramble", but only a total of SIX WRESTLERS showed up. I guess at the show it was announced that Necro had injured his leg, and he would be unable to compete, but that all proceeds from the show would go towards Necro's medical bills. Carny. As. Fuck. FWIW, the injury is real.
  2. And if their shows are in fact total wank-fests, why doesn't Davey Richards work there? He did. He was supposed to be the top star there, then he ditched them for ROH.
  3. He broke his leg last month at the Gathering of the Juggalos.

    Random TV Thoughts

Not to mention quite a few of his writers are simply dudes Leno got rid of this past year due to budget.
  5. Nigel told him to show up at the tapings.
  6. You lied to me! None of my questions were answered. Great show though, it blew my mind how Kobashi thought no one would know him and wanted to work a evil foreign japanese match with Joe. I totally had to go back and watch his entrance for that match. KOBASHI! KOBASHI! KOBASHI! Mutoh had a similar reaction, IIRC.
  7. I don't think her music is anywhere big enough to be on WWE's radar. Hell, the one song people know she does is co-sung by Dixie's husband,
  8. Entirely too much no-selling in what matches I was able to see. I loved how Briscoe played handing the title over though.
  9. I've been in both rings, and this is 100% true. I had been in hundreds of indy rings of various quality, but when I worked in an old WCW ring I was blown away by how short the ropes were, and it threw me off just running ropes and stuff. Also, WCW rings (and from what I see on television, most lucha rings) have cable ropes - where the rope is a steel cable run thru a garden-hose type of cover. WWE rings use a regular rope with a latex/acrylic type of coating. The difference in tension between the two is immense. Cables are much tighter, and have a spring-like quality, while ropes have a lot more elasticity and "wobble" more. Another difference is that WWE rings are 20x20... and most other rings are not. WCW rings were 18x18, I believe ECW were 16x16. Most indy rings are 16x16... although I have worked in 14x14 many times, as well as some rings that had ridiculously tall/short aprons. All of this is why when WWE gave a WCW ring to UPW, they passed it onto the guys they regularly rented rings from. It was a WWE-style ring or nothing for 'em.
  10. My feed is dying so I missed the end of the segment as well. And Bobby Fish's mustache is glorious.
  11. I only turned on in the middle of the Elgin match, and it did appear he was moving sluggishly. On the other hand, they're giving us an RD Evans match, so I'm happy.
  12. To make up for when the Observer wasn't yesterday, perhaps?
  13. Elgin's got quite the skullet, I see. And am I crazy, or does the Forever Hooligans themesong sample Terry Funk?
  14. There was a guy who'd scan them into .max files and e-mail them out in the early 00s.
  15. I hated him at the beginning and then mourned the end of the reign by the end.

    Feeling Poptimistic

    I like Stonehenge better, anyways.
  17. Ultimo's WWE run was gravy anyways, since it was thought his career was over due to the botched elbow surgery back when WCW shut down. Sin Cara's gone from being a top draw in Mexico to being an injury-prone slopmonster.
  18. The first issue of the Greg Pak/Jonathan Coulton collaboration "Code Monkey Save World" was released to the kickstarter backers digitally this week. It's glorious.
  19. I find it interesting there's was so little follow-up to the Milligan Horsemen of Apocalypse (Gambit/Gazer/Sunfire/Polaris). The only one who ever gets any sort of mention about it is Sunfire.
