  1. I mean I wouldn't be reading the stuff written after he left anyways, kinda curious if that point works as a solid "end" or not.
  2. Quick question I assume someone here would have an opinion on: with Hickman's X-men run I know he left earlier than he originally anticipated, but does his run still work as a self-contained story or is it basically only the first act or two of a larger story that isn't ever gonna be finished?
  3. Samael hasn't been in MLW for at least a couple years now.
  4. Odd to see Jey Uso's "Yeet" shirt blurred out on vids from last week, I assume something has come up.
  5. If you watched the Nakamura/Muta match him being able to do the mist now makes a ton of sense...
  6. They made a huge miscalculation when making this game (besides the dev time likely taking a year-plus longer than intended): they somewhat wisely realized they could only get the base of something worthwhile done for the first game; the issue is that they mistakenly believed they could deal with that as DLC and in truth they never will, the game needs a sequel and any effort spent on DLC for a dying (as a long tail experience) game is reducing the chance that said game ever gets made. Release some character packs but all real development needs to be spent on a full new release built entirely atop of what's been established, it is literally the only path to where everyone wants things to get.
  7. I think we just need to accept that Ibushi's time as a top wrestler has come to an end and he's mostly just around to have fun with his longtime friend. I'm sure he'll still drop himself on his own head because it is hard wired into him, but I think it is better to approach him as a "hey, it's nice to see him" guy as opposed to a "can't wait to see his match" one moving forward. I am this close to writing the same about Malakai Black as a singles, but I still have a shred of hope; I think I wrote the same about Keith Lee earlier this year. Just because some people go deep into their 40s without dropping off doesn't mean that everyone is going to.
  8. I feel this undersells things, Becky may have put up the worst Jeopardy performance of all time as through the first 60 questions (Celebrity Jeopardy has 3 rounds totaling 90 questions, regular Jeopardy is 2 rounds for 60 total) she got zero correct answers, which may not have ever been done before. This is why they will never let a wrestler do this again.
  9. N/m, was just an issue on my end.
  10. I mean Paul Wight's knees were visually shot to hell... five years back now? I recall him coming back at some point on Raw, wincing having to walk up the stairs to the ring and audibly yelping in pain when grabbed for a double powerbomb when he was up on the second rope not because of the impact but because of his legs having to bend more than he likely expected. I likely mentioned it on that weeks' Raw topic on this board, I don't know why multiple promotions now keep putting him out there but they really shouldn't, he's done his time.
  11. I hope now that the payoff happened this MJF/Acclaimed thing can go away as Max Castor basically being a creep/borderline sexual harasser is something I'd rather not be a thing any longer.
  12. So basically Macho Man. I mean his brother was The Genius, so this all tracks...
  13. I feel like Danielson felt like showing he could do a worked injury thing and make it work with Okada after the last time was a disastrous ad-lib, and it still just doesn't work and he should accept that.
  14. So I don't know what has changed but this has gotten dramatically worse over the past week or two, it used to be this happened on some longer threads but now it is happening on virtually all of them.
  15. Apparently multiple people on the undercard were hiding staph infections from the doctors so they wouldn't be pulled from the show, I don't want to argue for people losing their jobs but given neither of them are in any way important it'd be a solid way to nip that shit in the bud.
  16. It happened twice, which means this dream match can be advertised as thrice in a lifetime~
  17. I believe you mean a threatened cutting off of one's invisible beard.
  18. I feel like this is potentially a very big deal but we won't know for a bit. This is a very aggressive move from Ari/Endeavor right out of the gate and I wonder if it is a one-off or a sign of things to come. I know the old thought repeated often when AEW was starting up was that WWE was basically a sleeping giant with Vince in charge one that has managed to wake up a bit over the last year or so (oddly right when Vince was removed from stuff the first go around), if Endeavor is gonna be heavily involved they seem to generally run a smart shop so... I don't know, it feels like it could definitely end up being something.
  19. I checked and Ricky Starks is listed as 6'0 and is also... you know, black, so Edge just sorta wildin' out there.
  20. This is genuinely lovely but I have to admit to doing a double take when I saw he put his kayfabe name on it.
  21. So... I recall all of us watching the Mox/Fenix match in sort of horror and then being told afterwards it wasn't as bad as it looked and was just a "minor concussion". We are approaching a month later and Mox is still not cleared to compete. It reminds me a lot of when Matt Hardy clearly got knocked silly against Sammy, then got cleared in 40 seconds so he could go climb a scaffolding. I think they strongly denied he was concussed and then he mysteriously did not wrestle for two or so months. Basically whenever AEW tells you "who are you gonna believe, us or your lying eyes" remember that the answer is in fact your eyes.
  22. I think something overlooked is that AEW is basically also running about twice as many shows as they used to thanks to Collision, so unless you have a red hot product it is only natural that each individual one is likely to draw less on average than they were back when there were half as many.
  23. So... is Tegan Nox supposed to be good as she looked very not good in the ring tonight. She runs in the ring (particularly corner to corner) like a celebrity wrestler, and not the recent surprisingly good crop of them.
  24. I mean, wrestling history is littered with times the announced match fell through so a replacement was sent out and the face surprisingly won to send the fan home happy. I'd wager a lot of them gave that win back within the next few shows as well, especially with a belt on the line.
  25. Yeah it felt like Christian didn't feel he could pull it off (he seemed to half lose him before slamming him onto the stairs so he was probably right) and it appears like it may have been the thing to possibly legit injure Darby so it was pretty clear the wrong idea to go back to it... but Darby has dodged death so consistently that I can understand why everyone involved went the way they did.
