  1. I was kinda eh when I heard about the Schultz episode. But now that I know they got Stossel for it, I can't wait.
  2. I don't think it lasted more than a few months but yes, they had five fresh hours of TV every week. Harlem Heat got their start there too. Cactus Jack was also talent on their first set of tapings. I remember them pushing The Patriot as the Hulk Hogan of their federation.
  3. The Apter magazines opened my world to the other federations, and Pro Wrestling This Week was the TV version. Federations and talent who had never have gotten the exposure were introduced to kids like me. I even knew about Savage injuring Steamboat with the bell weeks before it aired.
  4. All-Star Wrestling! That's what it was. I kept looking at Championship Wrestling intros and swore it opened with Finkel.
  5. Hogan beating Sheik is THE moment. Any time Howard said it again was an attempt to recapture it. Hogan-Sheik is actually one of the few matches where I've probably seen the post more than the actual match.
  6. ESPN did a Scott Hall one a while back. It was the first time I learned that he killed a man working at a nightclub. Black Saturday could be a good one since most of those involved are still alive. The steroids trial would be an obvious one. An Eddie Gilbert one would be fascinating.
  7. Pete was asking for more Finkel on commentary. From the Hulkamania Coliseum Video (around 15:30), here's the Fink doing color for Hulk Hogan vs. Big John Studd.
  8. Unless he got released too and I missed it, David Otunga is still there.
  9. I do believe once this passes, the average lifetime lowers, and not because of coronavirus victims, but because of the anxiety and stress, and the people who needed medical attention and were too afraid to go to a doctor or hospital to get it. Real life is still happening and those that need help are putting it on hold. And a lot of them won't be able to.
  10. This actually inspired me to go back and watch the show again. Warrior ripping up the Iraqi flag has got to be up there among the loudest pops of all time. And the Rumble match was fine but Jesus, almost everyone is treated like a megastar. Kerry Von Erich's moment has passed but when he comes out it's like we're suddenly at the Sportatorium circa 1984 again.
  11. I get the whole right to privacy, but it is incredibly irresponsible to announce someone that is a public figure has the virus without saying who it is. Rudy Gobert visited schools the day before he tested positive. They were all shut down immediately. And I had to think it helped make a bad situation not become worse. Someone made a Michael Cole joke. Let's say it was him. How many people do you think he comes in contact with in a day? 40? 50? Do you think he'd remember every single one of them? And I'm not singling out WWE. The NBA keeping the players who tested positive a secret is a joke too. I hate Kevin Durant but I respect that he at least admitted it. Whoever tested positive in WWE is clearly someone that could end up shutting them down. Which obviously is their bigger fear. Then, you know, roster members dying.
  12. I fucking love that match. I've always considered it one of the best WWE opening PPV matches of all-time to this day. That crowd was molten too. The Gulf War had just started and there was a lot of anxiety and stress and you can tell the crowd needed a release. Much like today. I'll also say that Big Bossman vs. Barbarian match for its time was awesome. It was promoted as a nothing match and they both brought it.
  13. People say WM13 is a one match show, but I think the Street Fight is very underrated. It has a more chaotic feel than you get out of WWF matches at the time. Also if you pay attention in the beginning, a future Colt Cabana can be seen in the crowd throwing punches at Hawk.
  14. 13 years ago I remember exactly where I was when Regal gave his tribute. I actually posted my horror when it happened on this board which shows you how old I am. You just assumed they were all murdered by some unknown group or it was carbon monoxide..or SOMETHING, then Regal gets a little cryptic in his comments...and he just doesn't look right...at all...and I just knew "Oh My God...Chris killed them." I only finished watching that RAW out of denial.
  15. Oh no I agree. But if we get to that point, it sure as hell ain't gonna be for just a few weeks...
  16. This show was the epitome of being handed lemons and making lemonade. I thought AEW was going to die a death without fans to cater to, and this was far and away the least depressing live show of any kind I've seen. Referring to the next show as "on the next Dynamite" is an ominous sign though.
  17. I would argue it would be even stupider to have the live feed pop up and show them trading holds for an audience of nobody. Just know where the breaks are and put the restholds in.
  18. Did that guy who did the same on this board for Broadus ever see a dime?
  19. Someone may have already said this I didn't read anything prior. Nobody on the WWE roster moves the needle. Goldberg moved the needle on Smackdown a little bit. And that was enough.
  20. I'm sure this wasn' t the intent, but Rhea sure came off as an asshole, refusing to help Bianca until her music hit and even then...she slowly...did some posing...and THEN helped. That being said, I'm a big fan of the heel kicking as much ass as possible before the face can make the save, instead of the usual "face music plays, heel freezes and just stands there."
  21. Heath will totally pin Bryan. I don't remember the podcast (I think it was Jericho) Daniel five-six years ago pitched an angle with Heath and it is happening right now.
  22. Eddie was in his Rey feud and did not want to lose to anyone. I get what he was trying to do (I don't want to be here, screw you all, I'll ruin this match) but it didn't work.
  23. Yes. I have almost no memory of that match, not to mention the best guys in the world can still have serious letdowns. Chris Benoit wrestled Eddie Guerrero at One Night Stand 05 which at the time was one of the best received WWE PPVs ever and you could argue that may have been the worst match on the show. It was absolutely the most disappointing.
  24. Rockets continuing to transform into the Thunder from ten years ago. Nick Collison and Nenad Krstic should be coming out of retirement any day now.
