  1. Just finished the show. I love that they rehabbed Jimmy Uso's character really quick from the confusion that was the end of the Roman/ Jay match to him being a force of chaos within the Bloodline who's violent and crazy and Solo is down with. And it's gonna be Cena and the Rock vs. Jimmy and Solo at Fastlane, right?
  2. I'm halfway through the show and just watched Asuka vs. Iyo. That fucking kicked ass. Even the outside interference was just a tiny spot and the knees to the back of Asuka's head into the ropes looked rugged. I yelled "Fuck!" out loud here on the back porch and immediately felt bad for the neighbors because it's 10:45.
  3. I hate to see that anyone lose their job. But none of these surprise me. Even Dolph, when I really think about it. I think the only surprise to me would be R Truth. They m sure that's one of Vince's demands. I'm more surprised that the rest of Hit Row wasn't let go. Either they see something in Fab and The Adonis or they don't want to fire even more POC in one day? Who can say in this kooky era of firing people just as you make a billion.
  4. I've gone to every WWE and AEW show in Denver or close to Denver for years, and have brought my nephew and his pals to every WWE show here for the last three years . THIS was the one I skipped because I spent ALL my entertainment money for three days at the Dead shows in Boulder this Summer. I couldn't afford to get tickets to the Wrestling. I don't regret that... but right now I'm pissed. I would have loved having the kids be part of that crowd. The Denver wrestling crowd rules and is awesome and I'm so happy to be part of it.
  5. I watched Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven" last night after hearing a recommendation on a podcast I love. I really, really liked it and I had never heard of it. It's got a great cast including Liam Neeson, Orlando Bloom, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Ed Norton, Alexander Siddig, and more. I read a little about it after and now I want to see a director's cut.
  6. I watched Quantumania this afternoon. Much like The Flash movie, it stunk but it was fun for a Saturday afternoon
  7. I'm pretty sure it's been talked about here , but I watched " Prey" the other day and I loved it. It's a total blast. It's the only good Predator flick since the Arnold one, and I kind of like it even better.
  8. I've always been a fan of the idea of factions and gangs in wrestling. It just depends on if I care about the people in the factions. This show went full 1997 with Gang Warz about to start. But this time it's with stars, and not DOA and everyone in the Boricuas besides Savio. I'm a Bobby and Profits man, myself.
  9. The new season of Lower Decks just started. The first episode is a Voyager love letter called "Twovix", and it's hilarious.
  10. You're welcome. My favorite parts are when the staff I remember complaining about shows going on too long.
  11. That was the only time I went to City Gardens, but I heard about the place since I was in High School. My punk friends talked about it all the time. There's also a great doc about The Wetlands out there. Wherever this thread goes, I'm ready to tell some Wetlands stories. It was where I learned how to hang in NYC.
  12. It was awesome. I hate being smashed up in a crowd, so the only spot where I had enough room was all the way to the left in front of the speakers, right by the bathrooms and the door to go outside and get some of that Trenton fresh air. I had to fold my earlobes into my ears and secure them with the bandana I had around my head. Oh, and The Dickies opened, and they were a blast.
  13. This is all fascinating. I spent my youth at Dead shows and The Wetlands in NYC. The Wetlands scene had its wild moments being right outside the Holland Tunnel in the 90's, but violence wasn't part of it. The threat of violence if you wandered too far away was definitely there. I did go to City Gardens in Trenton to see the Ramones in 89. That was fucking insane. The mosh pit bloodied my pal Court, and my best friend Brad who was a bad mother fucker loved it. " Dude! I punch these motherfuckers and they love it!" That place was legendary. It was the ECW Arena for punk shows, but in an even worse part of town than South Philly.
  14. I think the match was a redemption for everyone involved considering the whole program was pretty cold.
  15. Hey, not for nothing. But Payback fucking ruled.
  16. Smackdown was fucking fun. There was some bullshit but overall it was super fun.
  17. That goes to show how good Juice and Jay are. They worked around the worst ref who doesn't do anything and tried to make sense out of it.
  18. I watched the Flash movie on HBO MAX the other day. As much as it sucked...it was also fun for a Saturday afternoon.
  19. My dark comedy gene just activated. Thanks, man. It's nothing I'll share here but you just gave me a gift to file away.
  20. Yeah, over the last year and a half we went to a RAW and a house show in Denver, and the house show was way better. They do a full production just like a TV taping, but without backstage segments or commercial breaks.
  21. I was thinking about that as well. I was thinking earlier how much I kinda liked those " Hey, your co worker and maybe friend died yesterday" shows. And it bothered me for a minute , but it's off my guilt pile, so I'm feeling good. Some of those one cam confessionals were moving but most of it was uncomfortable. Some of it was hilarious, like the 9/11 shit with not just Stephanie. She gets a lot of shit, but almost all of those reaction to tragedy spots are awful. Regal being all shifty eyed because he's no dummy during the Benoit one is also fucking hilarious, at least to me. It was the exact moment I knew my Carbon Dioxide idea was out the window. People shouldn't be asked to do that during a time of shock and mourning. You give that job to Cole, Graves, LA Knight, and Cody Rhodes.
  22. I'm not anyone to tell anyone else how to feel, but I really loved that show. Normally the whole " The show must go on" bullshit is awful but for whatever reason it felt right to me this time. And I have a lot of reasons. The tribute videos were great. Sure, the Terry one definitely had a lot of stuff from his HOF video but Cody was fantastic. The show really touched me and I cried a bunch. My favorite two wresting things were LA Knight giving an amazing tribute to Bray Wyatt while keeping Kayfabe and the Terry Funk Hardcore Match being a Texas Tornado match where they worked fucking stiff with no weapons until it ended with one table spot. Dollars to Doughnuts Heyman helped book that.
  23. After an amazing season of SNW, I'm waiting with bated breath for the next season of Lower Decks that's about to start. Meanwhile, I just put on the H&I network on antenna TV. It's one of the score of rerun channels on free tv, and they do a Star Trek block every night. TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise every night are right there for me. I just tuned in for an Enterprise S3 Ep I never saw since I gave up on the show around halfway through S3 and this one is pretty fucking good, despite the whole Xindi 9/11 storyline that's kinda fucking awful. And it's HILARIOUS that they thought that making the terrible theme song more of an acoustic take was how to fix the problems with the show and the song. I've heard that S4 actually gets on track, but it was too late. And the only thing anyone remembers is the awful last episode that I did watch.
  24. I'm 53 and I just realized that Juice Robinson is doing Mike Boyette's gimmick and it's why Juice rules.
