  1. Well in terms of "smart" wrestling fans PWG is hotter than NXT in my opinion but in the grand scheme of wrestling they aren't even close. You can make a small case of Lucha Underground if they were full time. I can't believe I forgot those two. I LOVE them both (especially PWG) and makes me long to go back home. NXT is in good company with those two. I was thinking moreso TNA and...well TNA. As I feel TNA could have been as big as NXT in terms of relevance and popularity. As a BRAND...I am sure TNA makes more money than NXT, but NXT is definitely going to have longevity
  2. Smelly McUgly, good list until the TLC mention. I guess this really comes down to how a person likes his/her ladder matches, because I the majority of it didn't make sense and at times it was more important for the guys to get the stunts in vs. actually trying to win the match. I feel there is a balance to be had (and that can be obtained), but seeing stuff like Jey (Jimmy?) Uso diving off the top rope into a ladder and other more contrived spots just gave me the feeling that these guys were more focused on putting on a good show (and possibly having fun) instead of winning the match. It was is Dolph Ziggler was the agent of the match.
  3. Honestly, never tried, but I can try it on my Mint and see what happens.
  4. NXT amazes me. Its the shit people have been asking for for YEARS and WWE refused to do it with the main roster and TNA flat out refused to do it and decide to copy the stale main product. The fact that NXT isn't reinventing the wheel and is just using common sense booking, protecting gimmick, and having clear babyfaces and heels with motives should be a wake up call to any current/future wrestling companies who want to get 'cute'. A bunch of people who have never mainevented a WM or been a huge start in the big three during the 90's are selling out arenas around the word and is the hottest new brand of wrestling to come out in the last 5 years.
  5. I remember around 1994/1995 I was watching Johnny B. Badd vs. Arn Anderson on WCW Saturday Night for the TV Title and Arn won. I hated that because he just looked boring and was too straight-forward of a wrestler for me. Because of this 'traumatic' childhood moment, I was SUPER not into Dash/Dawson, but after tonight I am now looking at the purposeful old school gimmick in a new light. I like it. There are TOO many people in NXT and WWE who are trying too hard to be cute all the time, its good there are some guys who are just coming out without 10 second poses on the ramp, signature light patterns, etc. The San Antonio Spurs of NXT. It also REALLY helps the guys WWE wants to invest in look ten times better. Jordan/Gable, Enzo/Cass, The Vauds, and hell even Black and Murphy look like stars compared to Dash/Dawson (and this is most likely intentional). I would be ALL for Dash/Dawson becoming the new Ascension in NXT. Keep them away from the cute stuff and we could see some legit MOTYC from those guys in 2016. Imagine Dash/Dawson vs. Jordan/Gable for the tag straps inside a steel cage on a summer Takeover show! I know a lot of people are high on Nia right now, but I still need to see more. I keep waiting for her to turn it up. Again, maybe its my high expectations ( Vadersault, etc.), but I haven't seen anything special from here or anything that looks like death or true viciousness. Everything she does works on the indie level and the basics are solid, but it times for the moves to match her frame. I want to see death and power moves from her, until then...I am honestly not going to be satisified and will be forced to view her matches through 'brown colored glasses'. I am not trying to be down on the girl, but I think a monster type character should have some monster and 'Oh Shit!' type of offense. I love Apollo Crews and I think he has a good future in WWE, but fuck! I hope in 2016 he learns how to work better control segments.
  6. Yes. This is a big problem with Stephanie and the modern group-think of WWE. It's simple for me, in prowrestling a heel should always get what is coming to him/her. Plain and simple. WWE having a character that NEVER has to answer for his/her actions is counter productive. Sure, Stephanie will indirectly answer for her actions (her dad gets taken out later in the night and/or something happens to Hunter), but what happens to Stephanie? WWE is so obsessed with no male on female stuff but the female on male stuff is okay? It just don't come off good on TV as the situation is either: A. Ryback looks like a complete dork because of WWE group-think B. Reigns looks like a complete moron because of WWE group-think Its like a lot of things in WWE, either shit-or-get-off-the-pot! WWE should just get rid of ALL intergender violence and it would resolve the problem. WWE is sending the wrong message (a message a lot of society loves to send out for some reason) that its okay for women to slap the shit out of men and expect no returns on the investment. Again, the best approach is just to get rid of it all. No more intergender violence unless WWE wants to make it equal (which will get some people upset). Stephanie Mcmahon is the most protected heel in the company right now.
  7. Sheamus and Reigns are NOT the guys that should be upfront in WWE at this point-in-time. That whole fucking mainevent was HEATLESS. Even when Reigns speared 3 guys at once, there was barely any heat for THAT. This was not a good night for babyfaces, as Ryback looked like a dick yet again (falling for the same act for a 3rd time), Reigns was getting NO crowd support, and The Universe (oh god) couldn't really care about The Usos. The sad thing is all of this can be fixed so easily. The one interesting thing about Reigns is that he always MAKES people care when he is being a bad ass. The Reigns/Lesnar match actually got people into Reigns once we saw he wasn't pussying out of his beating and was actually fighting it and standing toe-to-toe with Lesnar. The same thing happened tonight. Once Reigns began showing some edge, the crowd started warming up to him. However, how meta was the 'Thank You Roman' chants? We have to be careful and not assume that SMARK crowd Boston was cheering the heel and NOT cheering the fact that the character of HHH/The Authority will not be on TV for some time. Again, I have never booked pro-wrestling, but it seems so easy to fix all of this, but I guess Vince and company wants 100,000 people sitting on their hands while Reigns holds up the gold (after a quest no one was invested in) after his WM mainevent match.
  8. I agree the 5 hours a week thing is a talking point that really doesn't hold up in my book. If Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose are going to have a match at TLC, what stops WWE from doing this: Week 1: Wyatt attacks Ambrose backstage to setup the PPV match. Dean is attended to backstage. Wyatt vs. Goldust (Wyatt goes over). Smackdown (Optional): Brief update on Ambrose by the announcers. Wyatt 2-3 minute promo from some off-site location. Week 2: Dean is back and cuts a 2-3 minute promo from an undisclosed location. Wyatts cuts a 2-3 minute promo (in the swamps or wherever). Smackdown (Optional): Dean interrupts the start of the show and calls out Wyatt. No response. Instead The Miz comes out and tries to talk Ambrose down, but winds up just insulting him. Ambrose vs. The Miz (Ambrose goes over). Week 3: Dean vs. Killings (Dean goes over). Dean calls out Wyatt. Wyatt appears on-stage (or screen) with his goons. Lights go out. Dean is surrounded by Harper, Rowan, and Strowman. Deans fights off all three until Wyatt calls of his goons. Smackdown (Optional): Wyatt vs. Ryder. Dean arrives late. Dean vs. Harper/Rowan 2-on-1 or Dean/Reigns vs. Harper/Rowan. Dean gets the win. CUT TO the shadows of the arena and Bray and Strowman stare down Dean/Reigns and mouths "See you are TLC". TLC PPV: Bray Wyatt vs. Dean Ambrose. This is just one match. Surely this can be done with 4-5 feuds at a time. Its also important for the babyfaces and heels to both have friends and allies, because when that happens (outside of factions). WWE can establish that someone like Rusev and Barrett are cool so if there is any beef between Neville and Barrett, Barrett/Neville doesn't have to happen even once because Barrett's good friend Rusen loves to hurt people and would like nothing more than to put Neville out to pasture. WWE could also do a 4-on-4 SS style match with Barrett/Rusev/ADR/Sheamus vs. Neville/Orton/Killings/Ziggler with Barrett and Ziggler/Neville being the last ones and Barrett decides to bail before Neville can be tagged in. Throw in some promos (that are NOT IN THE RING AND THAT DON'T TAKE 20 MINUTES), and thats another way WWE can keep people apart.
  9. Good show. Everything feels important. Enzo and Cass have a big match next week (and Cass is coming off of an injury) and their entrance and post match promo let everyone know that there is going to be a fight in London. If this was WWE it would have been cutesy video game style entrances at the start, LOVES TO HAVE FUN in the ring, and then a promo that would have canceled both of those elements out while the WWE Superstar(s) made sure to mention how he/she is going to steal the show. Yuck. I agree with Jax/Asuka. WWE should just let them both run for a while. Don't let them touch. The NXT Divas roster is deep enough for those two to NEVER touch until the pre-WM show (as mentioned). There should be two crews running: the more established (Carmella, Eva, Jax, Bliss, Emma, etc.) going against Bayley while Asuka takes on all the rookies (Dana, Royce, Gia, etc.). Also, what the hell is up with Royce's entrance? That looked very uncomfortable, as if she was TRYING so hard to be sexy and seductive. Sometimes just walking to the ring like a normal person is perfectly fine. Too many Divas are trying (and failing) doing the sexy walk to the ring. Nikki has the hips for it, but the best one to pull it off (and I am not even really a fan of hers) is Fox. anyways...enough talk about lame-4th rate OTT 'sexy' struts to the ring. I like Baron Corbin. He is such a dick and his promos come off as so real. The guy just needs to change his tights. I have never been a fan of that look. Reminds me of Meat Loaf and Bat Out of Hell.
  10. Non-canon WWE is so lame. If the Tribute show is NOT really part of the WWE universe, then why not have some fun with it? Big Show revives the ECW title for one night and challenegs someone to an Extreme Rules match, War Games 4 on 4, an elimination cruiserweight Survivor Series style match, Gimmick Battle Royale II, Ric Flair decides to have one last match for the troops against WWE wishes and to make it special he brings in his son David Flair to be the special guest ref against a mystery opponent*, Usos vs. Jordan/Gable, Samoa Joe vs. Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan and Corey Graves handling commentary for the evening, Stardust constantly trying to ruin/stop the show with his hijinx that keep backfiring on him and eventually lands him in trouble with Sgt. Slaughter, etc. Just something different and wild. Not WWE Raw held at a miliary base. Also bringing in an outside director for these would be best. Every year someone different. Its the one show a year that 'doesn't matter', why not experiment? * the mystery opponent is Charlotte and in an unsanctioned match pins Flair in a 3 seconds with a roll-up. The Flairs celebrate as they pulled one over on EVERYONE.
  11. The issue there is that they sort of need this to be a rebuilding Mania and they can't afford for it to be. I thought about this and I think WWE can still do it. THE RIGHT PEOPLE just need to go over. Rollins, Cesaro, Sting, and Orton will be out, so we cannot fantasy book them into anything. Batista is most likely not going to be there and its a toss up if The Rock can even perform. Angle will be free, but I HIGHLY doubt WWE brings him in even if its for one match. Jericho and/or RVD making an apperance is a possibly. Cena/Taker and Brock/Reigns II are likely to happen and I wouldn't have an issue with either. I would like to see WM32 be the last hoorah for a lot of acts and so I would book it accordingly (with the eye to the future): Dudley Boys vs. Harlem Heat Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho IC Title: Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens Tag Team TLC II: Usos vs. Dragons vs. New Day Divas Title: Sasha vs. Charlotte vs. Paige vs. Becky US Title: Neville vs. Alberto Del Rio Tyler Breeze vs. RVD Yeah the draw is definitely the name and thats part of the problem. Maina is going to do a 50-60% sellout before even ONE MATCH is announced. Thats good for the company, but it also sends the message that the 50/50 booking is fine, making faces look like chumps is fine, etc. Because DESPITE all of that....WM sold 50-60K seats within a week.
  12. WWE apparently did an investigation and everything 'checked out'. Its just that racism and WWE pretty much go hand-in-hand so I don't believe the fake apologizes and back tracking by a lot of these people. So far (aside from the Twitter incident), there have been no reports of her doing/saying crazy stuff. Again, I just find it ironic that some of these people will slag other races, etc. and then work for a company that will turn him/her into a walking sterotype within a heartbeat.
  13. So Nhooph Al-Areebi is a racist? Yeah, sorry I can't cheer bigots, racists, sexists, etc. WWE needs LESS of that and NOT more. Its ironic that she hates African-Americans, but LOVES white people. You know...the same people that will make her do some sort of sterotypical gimmick and then release her when she doesn't get over at all. The irony of it all wants me to see her make it to the main roster and get a taste of the racism she loves so much. Sorry but pro wrestling is full of carnies and there are too many wrestlers who have suffered at the hands of the mysterious Twitter hacker. I know plenty of people who have NEVER had his/her Twitter hacked. But in the world of pro wrestling, I guess everyone's password is just his or her first name? Yeah, not buying it...like I said...I await the day that the race she champions and is so proud of gives her a typical Hassan type of gimmick and the majority of the white fans don't give a shit about her and she is released.
  14. DISCLAIMER: I only watch Raw via WWE youtube clips. This episode looked like a good episode from what I saw. Sheamus showing some personality, New Day being SMART heels and getting both teams DQ's, Roman actually getting a good pop and looking good carrying the belt, Titus O'Neil showing up again in Stardust's cosmic dimension, and of course the finish of Charlotte/Becky that actually build some type of character for both and adds some dynamic to an already flat relationship. I've never been a fan of Dreamer, but he has not overstayed his welcome in WWE, so I don't mind a 3D/Dreamer vs. Wyatts match/feud as long as the guys who will be on the roster 3 years from now (and who are all under 40) actually go over. Again...a good Raw, from what I saw.
  15. Did know that Dusty cut another Hard Times promo on 11/9/85. Good stuff so far.
  16. Paige calls out Reid's death on Raw. WWE issues an apology. Come SS NEITHER Diva is THAT over with the crowd and Charlotte is even BOO'D during the intros. Once Charlotte wins the match...there is very little crowd response. WWE shot itself in the foot and the balls with the whole Reid Flair shit. With good story telling it could have meant more, but the problem is that even if the story-telling was Oscar worthy- Charlotte isn't a likeable face. Just bad all around. The match wasn't bad, but man, everyone in that arena was in lala land.
  17. The crowd turned their backs on Eva Marie when she was doing her promo with Bayley.
  18. Nope. Looks like 'Undertaker Week' is more important. I was hoping Cole and The Gang made a mistake and I would be able to watch BG instead of a glorified-company approved discussion, but nope. WWE replaced interesting programming with less intresting. The problem with these Taker discussions, they have been done a million times. Every year, WWE in some way, releases a "Streak" video package, etc. and the fluff pieces about Taker start. This could/should have been buried in The Network.
  19. Man, no love for the Taker/Angle No Mercy 2006 match? Its amazing that its been 25 years and the guy is still with us, walking around, and putting on MOTYC. Sure, EVERYTHING isn't a home-run, but at his age, we shouldn't really expect it. WWE has managed to keep the gimmick fresh and the fans have never turned on Taker. For 25 years Taker NEVER received "Go Away Heat". Hogan had it. HHH had it. Tons of other Superstars through the years have had "Go Away Heat" and yet here we are. 25 years later and we are looking forward to Taker/Kane getting their revenge on The Wyatts. People want (ed) to see Sting/Taker. I've always been a Taker/Goldberg guy. Its a shame that match never happened in WWE during Golderg's run. It's also great to know that Taker hasn't been involved in any real life scandals unlike Hogan, HHH, Austin, Flair, etc. He is one of the few 'legends' that doesn't put a bad taste in my mouth when I think of pro wrestling.
  20. I am bummed that SS will just be Kane/Taker vs. Harper/Rowan (?).It should be good, but God forbid WWE actually does a 4-on-4 Survivor Series match at SURVIVOR SERIES.
  21. Why are people defending bad storytelling and lack of character depth? Because USA, stockholders, and advertisers need to be satisfied? I am pretty sure the stock will not take a dive if WWE decided to explain where The Wyatts took Taker/Kane and how The Brothers of Destruction were able to escape. I am pretty sure the advertisers won't bail if Raw doesn't open with a promo. If Charlotte's charlotte has actual depth, would USA really pull the plug?
  22. Something unexpected happens in WWE and WWE has the chance to shake things. In typical WWE fashion, the company decides to 'stay the course'. Boo!
  23. I was going to send that picture to my buddy, but then thought I should mention that its Batista and not Taker (as YES! they do look similar in this photo). The guy has been has fan for over 25 years, so I am sure he would be able to tell the difference...but its time to test the fandom.
  24. Wait? WTF? WWE graphics don't just 'pop' on screen by accident. This isn't TNA. It would be interesting if that actually happened and if it did surely the Reigns/Rollins match couldn't have been the ONLY thing planned for SS 2015? Hmmm...
  25. So how long has NXT been doing the Kevin Dunn zoom in/zoom out during attacks stuff? I've noticed it the last two episodes and its fucking terrible. Just as terrible it is on the main shows.
