I mean, it’s always been possible, since it’s only a Triple Crown because Eddie holds three belts. They were never meant to be defended as one unified belt at all times (but is a possibility if the story calls for it). If you take Eddie out of that tournament, then someone else would have that belt anyway. I don’t think Okada holding a New Japan belt would be weird, either. It’s not like he’s never going back there, same with Ospreay. They could sign Mina Shirakawa tomorrow and it wouldn’t be weird if she won the IWGP Women’s Title, or the STRONG. Same with Mercedes. There’s cooperation among these companies, even if the internet wants to believe TK is sucking New Japan dry when in reality it’s more to do with just how bad Japan’s economy is tanking right now (source: I work for a Japanese automotive company).

I didn’t watch most of the show, but I loved the First Dance style opening. No show intro, run down the card, and then boom - big debut. I still feel like babyface Mercedes/Sasha isn’t the best (especially promo wise), but this was perfectly fine. The show ending angle was about what I expected when they announced Riho/Willow last week. It was either Mercedes goes after Toni immediately, or there’s the unfinished business with Willow. There’s still a lot left with Toni, much to the displeasure of some people, so it’s probably a good thing to let Mercedes work with Willow, Stat, Riho, Julia, Skye, etc in the meantime. I’m assuming Britt returns next week to tag with Deonna, since I saw she challenged Toni & Mariah. Or maybe it’s Hayter? That would be dope as fuck. I turned on my PS5 after the Elite match, so I only followed along on Twitter. Ospreay’s “Restore the feeling? I AM the feeling.” line is god tier IMO and pretty much how I feel. Which is wild since a few years ago I really didn’t like him at all.

Which is perfectly fine, because Mercedes excels as a heel and honestly their women’s division doesn’t have that huge heel. Toni is slowly turning face, and with this All About Eve story, will be face anyway before it’s over with. The biggest heel is… Julia & Skye? Saraya? That’s not good.

TK mentioned DVDVR during the panel he, Danielson and Britt Baker did at SXSW a few days ago. It was in reference to Danielson not thinking people thought he was the best wrestler in the world in 2004, and TK said this board did, because he was there. Trevor Dame assumes this is in reference to the DVD 500. Another fun tidbit from that panel was that Vince apparently asked Bryan, when he was doing creative before he left, what AEW was doing that WWE wasn’t. So Bryan went and watched something like 6-8 weeks of TV in one weekend and came back, “they’re doing a lot”.

I personally love that they stealth introduced a new enemy type (flying bugs) with the latest patch. The story moving along already is great too, I love what they’re doing. The tease of mechs a week ago, then the introduction of them, and now the new mission type to eradicate the bugs that’ll almost surely result in them being forever changed somehow. The little bits of lore during the missions that indicate Super Earth raise the bugs like cattle and put them on planets to continue the business of war. I haven’t played too many GAAS, but this is how they should be. Not waiting for a major expansion to continue the story, but doing it weekly through small things in the game helps tremendously with player immersion.

The men’s MyRise isn’t nearly as goofy (yet) compared to what I’ve heard about the women’s version. I might actually finish it this year.

Last year, I did the “beat Reigns on legend difficulty” as my very first trophy. It wasn’t hard. What the fuck happened?! Is the hardest difficulty actually… hard this year?! What?? Or is it just Reigns being super OP? Or Bruno being terrible in comparison and not being able to use any Payback specials?

Wayward Son was the Elite’s music when they were doing the post Brawl Out sympathy run. They’re heels now, using that Succession rip-off theme. It fits better, IMO. Feeling: Restored Heel Okada with the Bucks will be fun. I was hoping Hangman would be a part of all this, maybe he still can be. Seems like Omega is definitely being set up for a big babyface run when he’s back. Ospreay is that fucking guy. IMO, Perry’s heel run is garbage. Or was? I don’t know. I didn’t enjoy it, but it did give us an RVD comeback so that’s awesome. Thank you. They fucked up when they broke up Jurassic Express. Both are kind of just there as far as acts go. Luchasaurus might be attached to a hot act, but he’s the least important part of it. Perry’s heel heat now is just from referencing All In and he’ll get a pass from people for that because Punk man bad.

Once again I am telling anyone that I’m down to play Helldivers, with or without a mic (your choice). I’ve gotten pretty good at Impossible and lower (tho no group I’ve been in seems to want to complete an Impossible op for some reason). Also, @Death From Above: on the automotons note, you don’t HAVE to aim for the vents. You can lob a grenade inside the doors when the bots come out, too. Also, the Autocannon into the vents - from far away -will do the job as well (so will a grenade launcher obviously but yeah).

Yeah, Suicide/Impossible aren’t that bad if you have the right loadout for what you’re doing. But even the correct loadout doesn’t help you in the extraction missions. I did manage to do one today on Impossible - two let the bugs away/kept them distracted, and me and another guy just ran around opening the doors. Everyone met up at the colony when there was around 10-15 colonists left to extract and then all hell broke loose. Multiple Bile Titans and chargers at once, it was insane. But we managed to do it. Lost access to stratagems at the end while defending the extract point, but that’s whatever.

The bad part is, if you don’t follow people on Twitter or perpetually online, you’d never know about the problems with BR tonight and that they opened up US buys on Triller or whatever it’s called now for $30. Also I don’t know if anyone is watching the scrum, but they’re going the route WWE takes. TK is out at the end, Renee is the “host” to pick out the media and introduce the wrestlers.

I understand the Bucks and Pentagon are pretty well hated around these parts, but the cage match at All Out 2021 remains the best Young Bucks match for my money. I really thought for a second there that this was going to be a big ol’ squash match and Sting would do the whole Mutoh thing where an unannounced singles match is in fact his retirement match.

I won’t play this for years (I just now crashed through the church where Aerith is in Remake, so…) but I really hope there’s shit in Rebirth that makes it absolutely certain that it’s a different timeline/universe because my coworker is STILL convinced that the three games are just straight up remakes with some expanding of the story. I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense - kill Tifa instead or something.
