In what must have been Rob Manfred's wet dream - the Cleveland/Boston game took 1 hour, 49 minutes to complete
I missed most of this game, turned on the radio, and heard the last pitch.

Gotta throw in "Victim of Hardstyle" for Special K as well.

Jey vs Cody doesn’t do much for me. I think I’d like to see Cody vs a monster like Reed, but we’ll probably still get that at some point. Or maybe Sami beats Gable and then Reed murders Sami afterward.
I thought the same thing, but then I realized that Jey won a shot at Priest's title.

I saw a clip of Billie showing the title belt to her mom, who disapproved of the way that she won (not with "honor"). Mom said Athena was a bad influence. Billie left in frustration and went to celebrate with Athena instead.

When Seth came out with his second crazy outfit of the weekend with the Mummers parade, I told the girls, "This is why I love pro wrestling - crazy stuff like this."
Michael Cole delivered the best single-match performance by an announcer in a long time. He was openly rooting for Cody to win, which you're not supposed to do, but he couldn't help himself. He hit "Finish the Story" on the three-count, and after the match, he mentioned that he's known Cody since he was a kid and declared his love for pro wrestling.
For all the years he was overproduced by Vince in the headset, Cole summed it up perfectly by saying, "Sometimes, this business gets you right in the heart." That heart was often missing in WWE, but it was there last night at the perfect time.

I explained to my wife that I had to sing Cody Rhodes' theme out loud because the song has been stuck in my head since WrestleMania 39.

I loved Rey and Andrade's chicken-fight dive to the floor. Gotta love seeing a move that you've never seen before.
Did you notice that Michael Cole called Corey Graves the "heir apparent"? That tells me they must like Corey's work on Smackdown and are considering him to be the future top play-by-play announcer. Good for him! That would be the highest level a former wrestler has achieved as a play-by-play announcer since Gorilla Monsoon.

A bit of nitpick, but does NXT even try with its ring announcing? No weights, no where they are from. It's "HERE'S WRESTLER A! AND THEIR OPPONENT, WRESTLER B!" This is the first time I've seen NXT matches in full -- is this par for the course?
Yes, it is. Alicia does a great job, but if the purpose of NXT is to prepare talent for the main roster, might as well work on doing a proper ring announcement.

Great memories of announcing the Moosin: God of Martial Arts PPV in this building in 2010. We were supposed to do Moosin 2 in Chicago, but our money man got thrown in jail and the company fell apart.

Doc was one of those acquisitions where guy has a name so they'll just drop him in cold, give him nothing, he either sinks or swims. Austin was even kinda like that. It's Vince saying "Well the staff likes him, maybe he can move the needle a bit, but I've got my own pet projects first of all." (Like, y'know, the Truth Commission, or Nacho Man vs. the Huckster featuring Billionaire Ted and whatever the name was for poor Okerlund.)
Scheme Gene!

Anyone with Honor Club: how much early ROH is on there? I really want to rewatch Joe vs Kobashi and see how it holds up. I haven't seen it since high school probably.
Most of Year 1 is on there.

Maybe Ohtani can play minor league basketball for a year.
Considering that my Burning River Buckets lost last night in the ABA playoffs, I would be happy to announce him in our starting lineup next year. Plus, I think merch sales would go up a little bit.

I like how Hobbs tried to pin OC immediately as payback for his 8-second loss to Cassidy on Dark when Hobbs was starting out in AEW.

So did Austin Hedges, who has rejoined the Guardians in an attempt to move up the list.

SummerSlam 2024 will emanate from Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, 3rd August 2024. Last SummerSlam in Cleveland was SummerSlam 1996.
I was there with my dad and brother. My friends, Handsome Frank Stalletto and Beef Stew Lou Marconi were two of the Undertaker's druids. I hope I can be there this year.

I keep a spreadsheet of all of the major promotions with the wrestlers' hometowns, weights, and signature maneuvers. I shared it with the new announcer for New Japan (Walker Stewart). We gotta help each other out!

Even though he got squished, I was happy to see Xyon Quinn make it to Smackdown. We met him on vacation, and he was very cool. I was able to give him some advice and told him he would be in one of my WWE history books someday.

Maxx Payne's gear in WCW, he looked like he was wearing a "Wrestling attire" version of his regular clothes.
From "King of Atlanta" - Page 64 - Beach Blast 93
4. Johnny B. Badd vs. Maxx Payne
Why did Payne wear a giant T-shirt calling himself a "Fashion Victim"? Didn't he choose his own outfit?
