  1. Because he’d just gotten hurt, was limited in practice and was coming off a short week. I can’t imagine any coach seeing those circumstances and thinking that he should go in.
  2. According to one of CM Punk’s shoot interviews (for whatever that might be worth), the change in pressurization can be very painful. When Punk cracked his skull and wanted to fly home, the doctor warned him that he could be in a lot of pain.
  3. Heads are gonna roll in Miami. I won’t be shocked if Mike McDaniel gets shown the door.
  4. The Bears have put Byron Pringle on IR.
  5. And now a questionable flag shuts down the Giants momentum.
  6. How in the blue hell was that not a PI call?
  7. Chase Daniel’s MO is a good win, and then going into a game that his team should easily win and getting completely shut down.
  8. To be fair, he was probably in so much pain that he didn’t even realize he was a yard out with room to spare…
  9. Adam Schefter says that it's unlikely that either David Bahktiari or Elgton Jenkins will be ready to go for the Packers vs. Bears game Sunday night.
  10. To be fair, Seattle's defense was exceptional last night. But yeah, that shouldn't exactly be a tough decision. Scrolling Twitter this morning, I saw a tweet to the effect of "The Bears passed on Bruce Arians to hire Matt Trestman and now they've passed on Nathaniel Hackett to hire Matt Eberflus, is this supposed to be progress?" Which I'm assuming was made before the fourth quarter of last night's game.
  11. What stuck out to was how well the SF defense kept Mooney covered, and how Fields found other targets to make plays. How many times have we seen Rodgers try to force the ball to Adams because thats who he wants to pass it to?
  12. My sister and I have been talking about dishware for the last couple of days. Our grandmother passed away in February. By some stroke of luck, my sister found a woman on Facebook Marketplace selling a bunch of pfaltzgraff yorktowne dishes, which is what grandma always had. She picked up a whole bunch of stuff for $70 (and the woman has called her twice now about coming back because she found more stuff that she'd like her to have). According to my mom, my grandmother probably spent at least a few grand cumultively (in 1970's and 80's money!) for all that stuff. So we've been reminiscing for a few days about our childhood memories and all of that stuff. I also happen to be a chronic coffee mug collector, so naturally I've decided I want a pfaltzgraff yorktowne mug, which I was able to find relatively cheaply.
  13. I've mentioned my wife on here a time or two. She's currently back in school at the tender age of 40 (or as she puts it 27) to get her bachelors and then her masters in literature in order to get her teaching and librarian license. She's presently taking advanced creative writing and her end of the semester project is a 40 page manuscript to be submitted for publication. Well, she's 30 pages in and, IMHO, she's actually got something with it. Her professor agrees and has told her that she hopes that after the semester ends, that she continues with it and makes the necessary revisions to attempt to get it published. I've already asked (and received) permission from her to share it with a few friends/acquintences who are already published or just people's who's writing/opinions I have a lot of respect for. She's undecided if she's actually going to take that step, however.
  14. I've started "Wall of Silence" by Dorey Whitaker. I saw the title and instantly thought it was a police/lawyer story. Well it's not (although there are a few legal aspects), but it's still very compelling and I was almost angry when I had to stop reading to go to work yesterday.
  15. Tanahashi seems like the logical choice to me for the guy to win the interim strap. He wins it at forbidden door, maybe does a token title defense at the Blood and Guts show three days later, definitely does one in Charlotte during the NJPW USA show, and possibly something in New Japan proper in August. Punk vs. Tanahashi for the undisputed title main events All Out.
  16. My kids' pet rabbit. His name is Roger, but he's mostly called "Mr Hissy Fit" because every morning after he gets fed, he feels the need to kick the food dish over. Our theory is that he wants to believe that he's out in the wild and surviving on his own. So he's forging and gathering the food himself instead of being fed.
  17. I felt the need to watch Psycho last weekend, after I'd finished reading the book. My ten year old asks if she can watch with me, and I tell her sure. She made a few . . . interesting observatations as we were watching it. After the first scene in the parlor with Marion and Norman: "Dad, that guy seems pretty sus" She didn't catch on that we were supposed to think that it was Mrs. Bates, she thought it was just some creeper at the motel a la Friday the 13th. We get to the end and she says to me "Dad, I have so many questions about this." I just replied "That's why it's called suspense!"
  18. I finished it up yesterday, and I can totally see why you were annoyed at the ending.
  19. That's always the general feeling - until the idiot mouthing off goes through with it.
  20. I'm seriously annoyed with my mother. Short version: There was a funeral in NY yesterday that I couldn't make it to, so she promised to set up a zoom link so that my wife and I could be there in some form. I verify the time with her on Thursday, and we sit around for over an hour on yesterday waiting for a call, text, or email with it. I call her, I text her, I text my stepfather. Nothing. I give up and facetime my sister who tells me that it's already over and they're headed out to lunch now. She goes to hand Mom the phone and she just waves it off. She calls me three hours later and leaves a voicemail telling me that she found out on Wednesday that the link couldn't be set up and that my aunt had an idea to facetime with out of state relatives but that "didn't work" (despite my sister and I doing it just fine). No mention of the fact that I made a point of asking her the time the night before and her only giving me the time and negelcting to mention that there wasn't anything happening. It's just one more reminder of why I'm so much closer with my dad's side of the family.
  21. The other day I started the audible version of "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay. The first in his "Dexter" series, which was the basis for the Showtime TV show.
  22. I've been reading "Psycho" by Robert Bloch (yes, the same story as the movie) and really enjoying it. There's a lot more background given to Mary (not Marion) Crane, including an anecdote that Cassidy one offered her $100 (in 1959 money) to take off with him for the weekend, which at least partially explains why she chose to rip off the $40,000.
  23. From what I’ve seen from the 2/23 show (just finished the GHC Jr. Tag match) not a fucking thing.
  24. I'm thinking along the same lines. ROH can be where some of the roster members who need more seasoning, or those who are just lost in the shuffle right now, can go get some more experience with some new opponents, or just get a fresh start.
