Tony Khan is so incompetent he won’t even book Jungle Boy on TV and attempt to draw heat on the one party they can from the whole CM Punk bullshit drama. You are literally letting New Japan draw all the heel heat of your guy because you are pissed at him for costing CM Punk. Fire Jack Perry or stop mentioning CM Punk.

I'm always for younger lesser experienced guys touring Japan. This situation has been poorly handled but I think him working for New Japan is great for him experience wise.  It's not even been a week since the footage aired and it seems the Bucks are working him into whatever they have going on so I don't think they dropped the ball with Perry yet. The PPV is next week. If he doesn't show up by The following Dynamite or Colission then maybe it would be a cause for concern.

  2. On one hand I'm Jey misses teaming and traveling with his twin brother but on the other hand, he probably wants to continue riding out being one of the other ginuwinly top acts on RAW and the company over all. I'm sure if the idea is to pit him back with Jimmy and Roman it's probably going to be a slow build. That match vs Jimmy exposed Jimmy even more as not being as good as Jey as a singles and probably more of a reason to get these two back together but as a Booker, if I was Hunter I'd keep Jey as a singles a little longer. They are doing great business anyway so they don't need it but with Jey being so over on his own and top selling merch I'd keep it going. I'm sure the Usos and the Bloodline with those 3 as faces would probably get over just as much. I just don't know about the Tribal Chief as a Babyface although people are probably ready for it

I mean, ultimately who gives a shit about a bunch of rich knobs whining over working one or three days a week. They're getting paid stupid money and as a viewer all I care about is that they do their jobs

People are clowning Mercedes for promoting her upcoming appearances in her tweets saying she wouldn't have to do that in WWE but hey, she was obviously out bid by Tony Khan.  I'm not saying she doesn't care if the houses are not close to full but it obviously meant more to get a better paying deal. I would have never expected to see her ever wrestle outside of WWE a few years ago so im loving getting to watch her wrestle outside of WWE.

I'm sure she'll go back one day but I don't understand why people are upset with her choosing not to got back to WWE just because it's the bigger known promotion. Mercedes has the most loyal fans of all the women in the industry so I want to see if alot of them support her outside of WWE.

Everyone expected Jacob last night, so debuting Tama instead was an interesting swerve.

It's more recency bias with Jacob. I think people forget Tonga was even signed and Jacob being signed on the biggest week of the year for the company. I don't think it was a Swerve. It's possible they could have brought them both in but I think it's better to bring in Tonga first the way he did and let it breathe. Who knows we may get Zilla by the end of the year.

  5. I know this isn't '98 ,'99 era WWF were you can be a completely terrible worker and still be pushed to the top but he's a much better fit in WWE than anywhere else. There's still a handful of bad workers in WWE even though they are still in a really good era in terms of workrate being high. He's not going to bring it down especially if he has people around him that's still good.

6 months ago people would have been more happy he's moved on from NJPW than concerned that he'd bring the workrate down. Plus I would assume we'll be having Jacob Fatu in the Bloodline and he's probably a better worker than Jey or Roman in my opinion. They are atleast in competition with each other as the top workers in that family ever. So I don't see Tonga ruining the waters right now.

  6. Just over a year later , I still don't see why they couldn't have just left Solo undefeated. I know this particular use of him wasn't something they planned on a year ago but once they had him take the fall for Cody the SD before last years Mania, they made him the Pin eater of the Bloodline. Him overthrowing Roman for losing when he loses more than any of the Bloodline members is my only gripe but WWE is good at making us forget he has hardly won any matches in the past year on tv

Kevin Owens acknowledging the camera is something that should have started 25 years ago or so. I love it people like Owens that are great and improvising and doing stuff on the fly are going to do well with talking segments like that like the Miz promo when he first talked about being bullied when he got to the main roster. He was on the mic from the locker room all the way to the ring. That was like '10 or '11.

If he came in a year ago Tama Tonga would probably have a different name or be starting in NXT beforehand

Mistake to sit the All In London 2023 footage. Just felt desperate. Concentrate on your own product.

If they don’t get any type of ratings increase, that will make it even worse but if bringing in Mercedes, Okada and Ospreay doesn’t increase ratings than i doubt Punk choking out someone who isn’t even prominently featured isn’t going to do it. Are they bringing Jack back and attempting to do something with him? They’ll have to now

Hey man we gotta talk about the absolute geek of the millennium Seth Rollins though. Between the build up, the tag match last night, his own match, his big main event run-in being a comedy bit non-starter where he didn’t even get a move in.

Holy moly. My man Seth is down bad.

Its okay if he looks like a geek if he is going to be out. He's probably going to be taking off time to heal up. He's been hurting for a minute. Not just the Knee but his back too. He's been running pretty hard. He's still out of the most over acts on the roster and he'll continue to be when he returns if he is going to be out.

They never really figured out how to book Bianca outside of Mania. That they spent the last 3 years feeding her Sasha, Becky, and Asuka and now she’s in an undercard 6-man that was more about putting someone else over really says it all.

That's why I never understood the Super Cena criticism she started to get about a year or so ago. She's had a few lengthy reigns and Wins at Mania. Sure they think highly of you if you're leaving Mania as Champion but most of her reign have had no real substance as far as memorable angles. She is one of the most credible women on the roster but even the Damage CNTRL feud seems very lazy and uninspired. Outside of the powerful visual of having Noami, Jade and Bianca aligned together. I hope they do go to the Rhea vs Bianca feud they teased last year. It could be a Money match on the Women's side if they can put Bianca in some meaningful angles. The only comparison to Cena is the fact that she's a good spokesman for the company. She's is amazing at doing appearances and is a great representation for someone that didn't grow up watching wrestling. As good as she is and as prominent as she's been featured  , I think they could get much better use out of her

Did you notice that Michael Cole called Corey Graves the "heir apparent"? That tells me they must like Corey's work on Smackdown and are considering him to be the future top play-by-play announcer. Good for him! That would be the highest level a former wrestler has achieved as a play-by-play announcer since Gorilla Monsoon.

Wasn't he cleared to Wrestle a few years ago? 90 % of the audience probably forgot or never knew he was an actual wrestler. Unless he wants to somehow work an angle as an announcer like Lawler did during most of his WWE run he has no reason to ever take a bump again. He's still young relative to the time you subtract from the time he was away from the ring. It would be foolish for him to want to start be working in the ring especially for someone who had never wrestled on the main roster

Ehh. Have her squash people on tv every couple weeks until she’s ready for longer matches. This idea that she HAS to be a great worker is nonsense, especially when you’re dripping with “it factor” the way she is. There’s a mile of difference between her and Maxxine Dupri, who I literally couldn’t pick out of a police lineup full of fitness models.

Fully agreed, if Jade spent half the amount of time that she spent in AEW in WWE without being pinned, she’d will have had quadruple the amount of matches as she had in AEW. If always been a sucker for the Goldberg like pushes. They’ve done similar things with Braun and Nia Jaxx as heels. Braun turned out to be pretty good and he was a guy that was barely on NXT tv. Nia Jaxx is a terrible example because she never turned out to get any better but she has been led to a few good matches. Before coming in to WWE she worked with Dustin Rhodes, Bryan Danielson and people like that. I think it will finally click eventually but she just needs time and she won’t be held by the hand so much as time goes on. If they keep her in tags right now on these bigger shows it’s going the best way to hid her inexperience and let her shine in doses but now have her work squash matches every week like Ryback and eventually give her more competitive matches. I seen a clip about her talking about her not being young anymore but she hasn’t even started really using that bump card. She’ll be fine and I think she still has time to get really decent at least

  12. I was expecting Gunther to lose before Berlin. I would have loved for Gunther to go in to Berlin as IC champ but it was nice to see Sami get that win although I don't expect Sami to get as strong of a run they've been doing a really good job making that title the most meaningful title even over the WHC to me. Most of those titles seem to have more credibility in the last maybe year and a half. Like Gunther was headlining Raws and Smackdowns these past almost 2 years based around that title. Its a testament to he himself not just the booking of the title. I think WWE didn't follow up on that big win Zayn and Owens had last year winning the tag titles. Zayn is such a big Babyface. No one expected them to have a long run but you almost forget they were even Champs last year. If Gable turns heel,  it's going to be insane but they could've easily pit Gable in this spot last night and he would have been a made man.

  13. According to the clips of the Wrestlemania documentary that aired after night one. They had be had that Mania card booked before Vince left back in October. I thought that was interesting because many people assumed Rocks involvement was to deflect from the Vince scandals

Unfortunately I cannot find a link on Twitter but Becky had some very strong words for Rhea in an interview about the "viral spot" from last week.

It was a house show, wrestlers do comedy and non Canon stuff at house shows for generations. It's  just that now you don't know what fans from that show might take for footage to post on social media. I don't think she thought that would be something that would immediately resurface so I don't really blame Rhea. This is coming from someone who is as "Pro Wrestling should be Serious " as you can find. Rhea is the most protected Women on the roster not named Charlotte or Becky so that wouldn't overshadow anything she's been doing unless she was doing it on TV.

I understand where Becky is coming from about the Women's division as a whole and I couldn't really blame her for not wanting to see any of that at all because WWE has come along way with that division and alot of Women like Becky deserve as much credit for getting it to be taken as seriously as it is but there is still alot of improvements to make in the division.

  15. How long was Steve Austin actually the Ringmaster? I don't remember him actually being the Ringmaster as long as WWE or Austin makes it seem. He didn't become Stone Cold until maybe a month before DiBiase left. He was carrying the Million dollar championship around until WrestleMania 12 but he wasn't the Ringmaster. Was he the Ringmaster after the Royal Rumble? I think that was the last time he wore green trunks or any other color trunks that wasn't black.

I don't think he was the Ringmaster past the first few tapings he was on.

  16. If Earnest Miller came along 15 years later. He'd be one of the top guys around right now. He got over as the WCW commissioner and apparently he was over enough in that little bit of time in WWE with Vince where he'd improvise alot of his verbiage. Wrestling is way more accepting and I think he got that being a karate guy with no wrestling background even though he was a legit bad ass. I mean Broadus Clay was a straight ripoff of his short WWE run all the way to the "Somebody Call my Mama" phrase

Still remember WrestleMania 2000 doing that. One singles match only. Ironic that in ring 2000 was one of WWE's best years ever but WrestleMania 2000 was not one of the worst PPVs that year, one of the worst WrestleMania's as well. One of those  when Backlash was better than WrestleMania like in 1999.

Because it was one of the first Wrestlemanias that had over a hand full of matches felt like it was put together solely to get guys on the card. Alot of the late 00s early 10s Manias felt the same way with Men's and Women's Battle Royals and MitB matches and Triple threat matches

I know Rock is gonna be the shits in the ring because he has one speed and with all the muscle he’s put on 50+ he’s gonna hurt himself but everything leading up to that match is gonna be absolutely insane. There are promos and then there’s The Rock.

Regardless of how terrible Rock will be in the ring ,you know he’s going to try something that he has no business doing or try some type of chain wrestling sequence like that one Big Show vs Kane match on Raw just to impress the crowd. The match will be interesting to watch just from that standpoint alone.

To mark it, Steve Austin's 10 best WWE matches:

    10. Steve Austin vs. Kevin Owens. WrestleMania XXXVIII.

    9. Steve Austin vs. The Rock. WrestleMania XIX.

    8. Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle. SummerSlam 2001.

    7. Steve Austin vs. Triple H. No Way Out 2001.

    6. Steve Austin/Triple H vs. Chris Benoit/Chris Jericho. RAW, 21st May 2001.

    5. 2001 Royal Rumble match.

    4. Steve Austin vs. The Rock. WrestleMania X-Seven.

    3. Steve Austin vs. Dude Love. Over the Edge 1998. *****.

    2. Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart. Survivor Series 1996. *****.

    1. Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart. WrestleMania 13. *****.

I wonder how different this list would be with WCW work included in the list.

I liked the Triple threat with RVD and Angie. I know WWF had the same formulaic Triple threat matches that rarely lead to anything worth going out your way to see but I remember thinking it was good. Paranoid Austin was the best thing about the Alliance Angle and RVD at that point was the closest to how he was in ECW. The fans really got behind him and how he played off Austin and the Chairs hot by Vince was sick too.

Harris could bump athletically. I've seen him bump a handful of times in Mid-South and Dallas where I was surprised at how cool it looked.

I forget that by the time he was reasonably high-profile, he was already in his mid-30s. He aged like milk, but he was also well past his athletic peak by the time he was a notable worker.

I think the first time I saw him, I was very, very young and he was wrestling Hogan in 1987 or whenever it was, and he was already physically shot.

Even during the run with Hogan he was moving around alot. Executing leapfrogs and splashes. I remember being surprised at how mobile he was in those job matches during that run. I've always liked guys like that moving around and doing moves you wouldn't expect and he didn't look like he was dangerous like Mabel was and I enjoyed him too at times.

Today you see I higher amount of terrible workers being featured prominently on TV like as Beautiful as she is Because of her cousin, I don't think you have anyone the equivalent of Diesel or Taker in '95 complaining to the office about not working with her because she's hurting people and even more it's probably more of it being not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings but refusing to work with someone.

I know Rocky mentioned that Ari guy in his promo, but did he mention Khan too? Because that might not be a good idea, throwing around these corporate names as "my friends", under the circumstances.

It may have been right before everyone came out, Rock said he knew him from College or something about all the way back from the University of Hawaii or I think them both growing up in Hawaii in Rocks Grandparents territory. I remember Rock posting a pic with Khan an theorizing Rock would buy WWE in the middle of the Sale talks.

As far as Hunter, if there’s enough plausible deniability of the extent of his knowledge he’ll be fine. If there is any truth to Him and Steph being separated then that might work in his favor even though I’m sure they both would rather kayfabe it if they are separated but that wouldn’t be a big deal to anyone but people in the wrestling bubble. I find it weird how people feel so strongly about it coming out that he knows something. It’s weird to me people feel so strongly on either said of the argument of whether or not he know something. I think a lot is going to come out now in wrestlemania season and even after. I don’t think it will really die down till closer to Election season and I’m sure it’ll pick up again. This isn’t like all the other scandals where it’s talked about for weeks then it’s done. It’s a whole different dynamic with this new corporate structure.

No, that just makes it funnier.

And to be fair, watching it now, pre ECW New Jack wasn't that bad. If he actually had focused on wrestling and didn't become weapon obsessed as ECW mandated, he probably would have been solid. Mustapha? Yeah, he was  always no good but then again they were basically the black Sheepherders or Moondogs. Actual wrestling wasn't suppose to be their forte.

I remember watching a Chris Hammrick shoot where he talked about how New Jack was actually a good worker. They were actually very close friends and I think Ricky Morton said the same thing about Jack.

I'm like 3 months behind on BTS lol. I used to be able to run through episodes during work but now that I'm doing call center work that can't happen.

A year or so ago he was on Between the Sheets once a month at one point. It's been a minute since I got to hear him on there so I'll have to check this out
