  1. I stumbled on your podcast over the holidays after exhausting all my usual rasslin podcasts while driving. The Cornette episode was great. I'm fascinated by his elaborate antenna/tv/vcr setups in the early days. The Jack Donovan story is nutso--one of the sleaziest things I've ever heard in the realm of pro wrestling. I'm currently listening to the Beau James episode. Good stuff man.
  2. I read JTG's book this week. I agree that it is a quick, fun read. He spends a whole "chapter" defending his honest mistake of referring to Jim Johnston as Jim Henson, to the dismay of Vince. The funny part is that he refers to Johnston as "Jim Johnson"...in every instance. I'm convinced he still has no idea what the guy's last name is.
  3. King Bookah's my favourite version of Booker T. I won a signed promo photo of King Bookah which is framed on my wall. I loved King Bookah--just great stuff. I watched some of the Best of KOTR the other night and was happy to see King Bookah hosting.King Bookah is one of the few wrestling characters that my wife would laugh at or be interested in if she happened to catch him. She also likes Vickie Guerrero's "Excuse Me" for what it's worth. Edit: One more thing, I was watching RAW on Hulu the other day when my 14 year old daughter looked up to see Batista and said "That guy looks like Pitbull." I figured you guys would appreciate that.
  4. In his book, Bret recalls that he, Vince and Pat Patterson were brainstorming about names for his finisher when Bret threw out "sharpshooter". Vince stopped him and said that "Sharpshooter" was it.
  5. The basic box is $50, the $60 box adds 1080p output, the $80 box adds a headphone jack on the remote, and the $100 box adds some other bells and whistles (ethernet port, card slot, motion-sensitive remote) that'll have nothing to do with WWE Network. If it were me, I'd get the $60 box. WWE Network is only going to be in 720p, but I'd assume that if I had the Roku, I might use it for other stuff. I was excited to hear that the Network would be offered on the Roku. I picked one up a month or so ago and love it. Sam's Club has a Roku3 bundle that includes the Roku, remote, hdmi cable and a month of free Hulu+ for $75.00. I recommend the 3 as it has a YouTube channel that none of the previous versions support. I don't have cable and currently subscribe to Hulu+ solely for the WWE content. I get RAW, Smackdown, Superstars, NXT and Main Event the day after the air. They also have a couple seasons of WWECW on there. With the WWE Network carrying all of these shows, I can cancel my Hulu+ subscription ($8.99/month) which makes the Network even a sweeter deal for me. You can also use the Chromecast, but in my experience casting tabs from the Chrome browser can be laggy (this depends on the hardware of the pc running Chrome) compared to streaming a supported app directly from Chromecast.
  6. This. Your top heel is cutting a promo on your top babyface regarding the unification of your top two titles, and the crowd is chanting "boring". That ain't good.
  7. Word. Seeing her in the bikini made me realize how lousy/unflattering her ring gear is. I'm not ashamed (on DVDVR anyways) to say that "Total Divas" is my favorite show. And I'm looking forward to Natty's drunk dial next week.
  8. I hope he goes light on the Fozzy /heavy metal talk. That shit was unbearable for me in his second book. He looks like a chubby Kevin Arnold.
  9. I always thought it was a mushroom cloud.
  10. Man, I hope so. If only to see the reactions of the over-the-top Davey Richards haters on this board--especially the guy with the "Davey Richards inside a steel Davey Richards" gimmick. I've seen Richards wrestle in person a few times. He was athletic and entertaining. He'll do fine.
  11. Ginger Mahal would be a good team name if they ever ditch McIntyre.
  12. I would like to know as well. It's not a road trip without Kid.
  13. I popped big time for that--especially the "Stupid" he adds at the end. I couldn't believe it after all the jackhammer talk on here yesterday.
  14. I've listened to dozens of Colt's podcasts and really enjoyed them. But I haven't listened to a single one since I started listening to Stone Cold's. Since we're discussing strange podcast sounds, I've noticed a clicking sound pop up in the background of some of the episodes. It almost sounds like someone spinning the chamber of a revolver. I like to imagine Austin is doing just that as he conducts the interviews. Has anyone else heard this?
