I agree wholeheartedly. As much as people call JR the voice of the era, for a lot of us late 90s WCW fans, Tony Schiavone is just as important. I'm looking forward to hearing him call wrestling again with this MLW TV show that's apparently happening.

Did Keith Lee and Chuck Taylor wrestle yet? I saw it was booked for a PWG show and was thinking I'd buy the DVD, and I love venues like the new theater theyre in anyway so I wanna check that out

The Sandy Hook thing is really upsetting to me, I had no idea about that. A lot of friends of mine in CT went to high school with one of the teachers who died. That certainly changes my opinion of her a bit. I'm way too scared to try DMT. I don't begrudge you your opinion, but IMO 2002 wily veteran Hogan was a lot of fun while it lasted. I went to a Smackdown taping shortly after they put the title on him, and ive never heard a louder pop in that building for anyone, not even The Rock or Flair

I don't really follow much NJPW outside of the occasional AXS episode or big show, and after I found the article I thought to myself jeez this should (socially? Societally? Not sure of the right word) be a bigger deal so I really wanted to ask someone who is a part of that community what they thought. And the author touched on it, but its probably especially important after sitting through years of Goldust, Kwee Wee, Billy and Chuck etc.

With Bryan back, they should really unify the World/Universal titles, and build Smackdown around he and Miz fueding for the IC title forever and ever While I agree that the Wyatt family is a somewhat stale idea, I wouldn't mind some kind of fued with those guys involved in a different alignment that just plays off the history a little. The thing is, if AJ can't go and a replacement is needed, they'll tease until the very last second that it's Daniel Bryan and then it'll end up being Jinder or Ziggler or Orton and they'll wonder why everyone is shitting on it or they'll misinterpret it as great heat or something. If Samoa Joe is healthy enough by now (Ambrose has a ways to go right?) that would be a good place to slot him in (even though I'm hoping he comes back to Raw and has some great matches with Roman post WM) but I don't think they'd necessarily shit on Sami. In front of that crowd, I think there's actually a good chance that anyone who they put it on for the first time (if they wanted to swerve out of Nak winning or even just announce whoever as the interim champion) would probably get the "you deserve it" treatment.

I'm pretty conflicted on the Swann thing. Like so many others before him, especially in wrestling, it's the whole idea separating the art from the artist. I don't think one bad decision should derail his whole career, but by the same token, he (apparently? Allegedly?) fucked up pretty bad and really, really, really has to get those issues sorted. Hopefully he takes the time to do so during his "retirement" (come on, it's wrestling) and someday returns with a clear head and a better life. First and foremost, I hope his wife can forgive him and that he fixes himself and they can move on happily without further incident, but I'm speaking strictly wrestling wise: Even if he somehow redeems himself in the eyes of promotors and the public, I just feel like it might be difficult for fans to accept him as this smiling, dancing character after the arrest. Im not saying it can't be done-- everyone deserves a second chance-- but it's just too soon. Hopefully that guy gets his shit together because his real life backstory really touched me (not that it's any excuse for what took place, just to be clear).

My girlfriend is from NJ and I just went with her to meet her family and high school friends a couple weeks ago. Wawa blew my fucking mind! Man, I am really missing Awesome Kong on my TV. Is there any reason specifically she hasn't returned to WWE? I can't see her being blackballed for her tenure ending due to a personal tragedy in today's landscape. I'm sure that GLOW gig is cushy but I was really surprised they didn't get her for the MYC or the Rumble. Gail too, for that matter. I know Gail retired but hopefully Awesome Kong can get on with a TV promotion soon. I kinda remember her having a back injury in TNA but I cant remember how severe or long ago it was
