  1. Oh alright my bad dude I completely misread the tone of that post. I was at work at the time and in a bad mood already so I was probably being a little overly sensitive about shit (which, you know who hates that? That damn Lars Sullivan..)
  2. I'd feel the same way: fuck that guy. Edit: you know what? This kinda bothered me man. I wasn't gonna say anything, but what do you think, I'd be at a fucking Klan rally?
  3. I remember kinda talking about this here with a couple guys when it first came out, but something else among all the obviously insanely horrible racist shit he said was how he made fun of people with mental health issues, MISSED HIS DEBUT BECAUSE OF HIS OWN, then started talking about "easily offended snowflakes" on Twitter. I said at the time that, as someone who's dealt with that stuff, Id be a hypocrite if I was offended if it was used on TV since I gladly sat through so much other horrible crap WWE has done over the years (think of sort of a 'First they came for the socialists...' thing). But I guess the more I think about it, I'd kinda not be ok with it, because this guy chose to be a real jerk instead of being a champion for people who deal with that stuff. I'm 31 years old so I could give a shit, but it might be a big deal to a kid or teenager who feels alone because of it. How cool would it be if he did for mental health issues what Roman or Connors Cure does for cancer? But that's not what he did. He chose to be a butt hole instead. And again: this is WITHOUT EVEN MENTIONING THE RACISM. I have black family you goofy fucking ogre!
  4. Very weird and very specific, but I read Orton's tweet in the voice of Joe Namath pitching that Medicare Helpline for some reason.
  5. That could very well be. My prediction for the finish is that Arya kills Cersei while wearing Jamies face-- I'm a little less sure after last week though. You go that route after what she did during the long night, and that's a lot of shine-- it becomes her show entirely. Another thing is: Tyrion mentions the pregnancy when he's trying to reason with Cersei, and Euron is standing right there. So now Euron knows that she's probably trying to bamboozle him. Maybe we get a Euron babyface turn.
  6. Was there a separate statement?? I don't remember that for some reason. I just remember the original statement when he sold it all, where they stressed that he still has X% of voting power Edit: Thanks @West Newbury Bad Boy
  7. Man, these Saudi cards are honestly starting to resemble my 2k19 game. I just sit there all night getting stoned, muttering "Eh Rick Martel's still alive, I bet he's got one more in him." Of course, "getting stoned" has a whole different meaning in that part of the world, but my point remains.
  8. Lio's probably gone just for giving the damn interview, nevermind what he actually said about walking around broke. He did make a great point about the issue on the European tour, and while it definitely isn't my place to say if he's right or wrong, it's for sure made me think about it in a different way than I did yesterday.
  9. I'm a little out of the loop so im not sure what that is, from what I hear though Teddy is having a hell of a run in MLW and I've been a big Homicide guy since I saw him wrestle Steve Corino at my first ROH show, so if they have a match I would 100% track it down. Good look Edit: Joey Janela Spring Break, duh. I was thinking it was an indie I'd never heard of or something.
  10. Whatever happened to those guys? I feel like I remember one of them wrestling for the NWA title before Billy Corgan bought it, but whichever guy it was had a ton of new tattoos and lost a bunch of weight. I think it was the guy who was the older of the two that was rumored to be dating Pat Patterson for a while, but not 100% sure. Not a knock on the guys, because who knows how'd they be now with more experience, but man if you think Raw is bad now, you've obviously forgotten about the La Resistance vs Cade/Murdoch "classics' every damn week. You know shits rough when we're all clamoring for a Cryme Tyme push.
  11. The single greatest thing about the Moxley video is that he put it out at 12:05 AM May 1-- or, five minutes after the expiration of his WWE contract. Talk about momentum. It takes a lot for me to overcome my general cynicism lately, but I can say with confidence: this was really freakin cool.
  12. Agree about him as a perfect tag guy, but to be fair, at the time, the big gold belt was pretty much at the level where we would probably traditionally have the IC. Wasn't watching as heavy during his first WWE title reign, but I kinda remember people liked his WWECW stuff before he got saddled with the "HHH workout buddy" criticism-- but again, I barely saw any of it so I might be talking nonsense
  13. At the risk of looking like a hypocrite, let me put it out there: I was anti-Sheamus for quite some time, but it was never about his ring work. He just got stuck doing things that either didn't play to his strengths, or just personally didn't interest me. That title run and the League of Nations thing was just so crappy I honestly just needed a little bit of a break. The Bar has been nothing short of awesome, however, and I'll be bummed when he hangs it up.
  14. My prediction for the season was Arya killing Cersei while wearing Jamie's face but now that she did the honors last night, I'm not so sure.
  15. It's kind of always been Vince's thing to grab that international money when things go to shit here. Think about the crazy never-ending European tours of the mid 90s (cue the Maxx Payne bus footage). My guess is that they feel that the Saudi thing is a necessary evil in case the bottom ever does truly fall out of TV rights- a preemptive strike, if you will. The difference is none of those European countries did 9/11 and killed journalists and all that other messed up, draconian bullshit-- but in terms of just pure business, it's probably one of the oldest formations in Vince's playbook.
  16. I hated this guy but the two categories he mentioned make me feel like we could be best friends Also totally coming to my WWE2K universe mode: The James Holzhauser White Boy Challenge
  17. That pissed me off to no end when I heard that. Talk about insulting. Steve Austin, arguably the biggest star in WWF history, had to get surgery in 2000, and did it "hurt engagement metrics?" No! Rock, HHH, Foley, Jericho, Angle, the Radicalz, and a myriad of others stepped up, and the product was better for it, because they weren't afraid to build stars, lest they become "bigger than the brand." I love these calls so much for what they offer in terms of a peek into what the hell the rationale in Stamford is sometimes. This one was no different. But really, I have no clue whether Wall Street buys that crap. I'd like to think most people would be savvier than that, but then again, my lack of knowledge there is why someone else handles my investments
  18. I'm a little out of the loop on who this person is, but I really like her Jersey. I don't get to watch much women's wrestling outside of WWE, and the two episodes of WOW I've seen.
  19. I disagree with you on not buying Owens as a heel-- which is a matter of taste, I'm not faulting you-- but I agree entirely about the babyface run. I really think there's some money in it. Not only did they miss the boat on it, but I think it actively hurts the chances it'll get over if they try it again sometime in the future. At least not without another long hiatus in between, anyway.
  20. Its interesting to see how young 50-something Vince looks here compared to 70-something Vince today, if not entirely unexpected
  21. @Smelly McUgly That line about Hogan not liking you without having met you absolutely broke my heart
  22. Uh I saw Paul London win the Cruiserweight title at a Velocity taping
  23. Count me in as one of the guys who dropped out after Benoit and came back in 2012 with Summer of Punk II. Funny enough, it wasn't Punk that did it even though I saw him on my first ROH show and liked him on WWECW. I'd been lurking here the whole time, and playing EWR and stuff, but on a week to week basis that was it for me for a while. I'd check in once in a blue moon if I read there was some good stuff happening (Jericho/Michaels 2008, some of Takers WM matches) but I pretty much gave up on any WWE until one day my mom texted me. She doesn't watch wrestling, but has a great memory for guys I loved as a kid (since of course she was the one spending all that dough on merch, toys, autograph signings etc) so she writes "(Real name) you should put on channel 38 - Kevin Nash coming out to ring listening to N.W.O. music - not sure what it means !! Xoxo" Aaaaand I've been back since.
  24. I'd like to check that out, the library in my city just got into this cool state wide program where they'll order books for you from elsewhere. I don't know shit about STL wrestling outside of what was in that Bob Costas Wrestling at the Chase doc that came out maybe 99, 2000
