  1. I thought Samantha Irvin was fucking great.
  2. Main event was awesome. Poor Seth had the worst weekend tho. Bayley and Sky were the show stealers of the weekend.
  3. This is the kind of stunt that has the potential to backfire so bad it will go down in the annals of wrestle crap history. So I'm tuning in.
  4. Definitely put people on ignore. Life's too short and it makes our job easier. It drives me nuts that the same people on this board have been bickering with each other for so long. In some cases it's been years. The same fight for years.
  5. Like specifically the Macho Man figure.
  6. I enjoyed the show for the most part. Becky/Rhea was okay, loved the finish. R-Truth was probably the wrestler who elicited the biggest response in my house. Which is great for him, probably not great for the rest of the roster. Didn't care for the rest of the ladder match tho. Sami/Gunther was awesome and I marked out for the turnbuckle brainbuster. I remember turning to my son saying "I think he's going to do it," and we both were on the edge of our seat wondering if it was going to happen. No disappointments. Last night was one of those moments where Andrade felt like a much bigger deal than almost anyone else in the match. He always surprises me like that. Seems to always have a match where I think "This guy is awesome, why is he not focused on more?" Poor Asuka can't win at Mania. Fuck everything. The Usos. Sigh. I like Jey. But this match didn't have the fire and intensity to match the story they told. Which is the case for a lot of matches these days. I liked most of the opening bit of Bloodline vs. RnR. I didn't like extended beat down on Seth and I actually blame Cody for that. He just kind of stood there like a dope for most of it. Took too long for him to finally walk in an slap the Rock out of the Sharpshooter. Match picked up in the finishing stretch and had me going again. Mama Rhodes yelling BULLLSHEEYET at the Rock was spot of the night. I had a lot of fun, but I'm looking forward to what I'm guessing will be a bonkers night 2. Still thinking it goes full Avengers Endgame for the main event. And I'm ready for it. I don't think there's an angle they can pull where Roman wins that'll keep me around after tonight. And I love Roman. But it's time.
  7. Hey. For AEW fans who want to talk more about the company and less about Punker, I have the following. I lapse in and out of AEW all the time. Right now WWE is scratching the itch with their push to Mania. But that'll be over soon and I'll probably lapse out of them too. So What is the most interesting part of AEW TV right now? What do you feel about the company's future in terms of storytelling and matchups? I don't care about financials or ratings.
  8. Mood: Disappointed Listening to: Bull in the Heather by Sonic Youth
  9. Don't know what to think in regards to the Punk interview. I don't know if admitting to choking a guy at work, and then bemoaning how unprofessional the place could be makes a lot of sense. He likes to talk real progressive and then he says shit like "we're men so we settle it like men." Whatever good that's done anyone. Another refrain he hit was "Think whatever you want about me, it's fine. But leave me alone." I don't know the dude. He might be really cool, nice guy to hang around. But publicly he seems to always say whatever makes him look the best even if it's contradictory, and it makes him look like a the biggest phony. Like he said multiple times "I think wrestlers give too much away" and "I'm uncomfortable pulling the curtain back." But he didn't have to do this interview at all according to Ariel. He chose this. And when Ariel thanked him he said "I don't do media anymore." Like bro, what are you here for. I wish I could just enjoy the character CM Punk, because he's a fun promo and a pretty good wrestler. But the dude makes it hard.
  10. I laughed when Weidman said in his post fight interview something like "You can't fall away every time there's an eye poke. He did that like three times and it caught up to him." Which boiled down to its essence means "I poked him in the eye a lot and it paid off."What a victory. What a come back story. Jersey Stand Up! I also love that camera angle they had that was over the shoulder of the referee, as he watched Weidman poke Silva TWICE in quick succession before punching him on his way down. Like what are we even doing here.
  11. oooooof what an ending for that Silva/Weidman fight.
  12. Ooooooo..... I did watch it a lot... but I feel like I can't doubt anyone who would make such a claim
  13. I don't know what to think about the Loosa/Battle ending. I mean if you can't see, you can't see, I don't want to question people's injuries. But if it's 90 seconds in to the timeout and the doctor asks you a question - you're only answer should be "I have until five."
  14. Catching up. Gerald Meerschart with a rebound performance over Barberena. Put him to sleep with a rear naked despite the chin being tucked in. Don't see that every day. Tied with Anderson Silva with most finishes at Middleweight? That's.... weird.
  15. I loved Darnell Mooney his first two years, and thought he was going to break out after his second season, but it just didn't happen.
  16. I don't disagree. But I don't know if he thinks that. And more importantly the risk to gain ratio is much better with Topuria. Have a stand up fight with no risk of losing your title, with the chance to be a two weight champion. OR hope your takedown defense lasts against someone who has an infinite motor, with a chance that your title reigns quickly and you just become the charismatic second best fighter in your division. Merab is fucking exhausting.
  17. The slow start was expected, but man, I was really hoping he'd make it dirty more often. Those moments where Chito got in his face were generally successful moments. The problem was that between each of those moments he was eating 15-20 shots with nothing in return. If I were O'Malley I'd be trying to ghost Merab for Topuria too.
  18. The distance MVP's rear hand travels from the time he decides to close distance and swing, to the moment when he actually connects with his opponents face feels like miles.
  19. Felt like the leash came off of Yan in the second and it was nice to see. Love Gilbert Burns but what can you do about that knee. Jack can hang with anyone, so he's going to be in a LOT of entertaining fights for a long time with the Welterweight division. I don't know if he'll be dominant, but it'll never be boring. Any combination of Ian Garry/JDM/Shavkat will be awesome. And then any three of those vs. Leon will be exciting. That's a lot of fun fights that we'll probably see over the next two years.
  20. Why yes I did have money on Curtis Blaydes with that exact finish. That fight went almost exactly how I imagined it. It was like a That's So Raven moment.
  21. Kyler Phillips is fucking dynamic. Interested to see his next fight, against someone higher ranked that can match his athleticism.
  22. Almabayev is a hell of a wrestler. Will have to keep an eye out for him. Can we just cut to Despaigne vs. Pavlovich.
