Not sure if anyone watches it here but You will be ending after its upcoming 5th season

Probably for the best. I felt like they finally had Joe go full heel at the end of season 4, and season 5 needs to be him getting his come uppance.  Also, season 4 was kinda meh.

Yep. You can sniff that one from a mile away.

I'm now getting nervous that Roy is going to leave after this season if this isn't the last season.

I think he ends up taking a head coaching job at Chelsea, to kinda bring closure to his "I quit" arc.  It seems like his story this season is him giving up on things he loves when it gets too tough.

Well. That was an uncharacteristically brutal season premiere of Ted Lasso.

Idk I thought it did a good job of setting up where they are going with everything. The jokes didn't all land, but I thought everything else was fine.

Not gonna lie, "Naatu Naatu" alone sold me on checking out RRR.

It's also neat I actually watched a Best Picture winner before it won for the first time since 2006 (Of course I watched The Departed in the the theater).

Also, A24 went and cleaned up this year.

RRR is a blast, just make sure you set aside some time for it.

  5. Can't overstate how happy I was for the cast of EEAAO on their wins. It made me wonder if the film gets the same response if they got their original casting choice of Jackie Chan. As much as I love Jackie, idk if he has that performance in him.

A little surprised RRR didn't get an international film nomination, considering the tone of the show.  At least the "Naatu, Naatu" performance was lit.

I posed this on my socials, but does anyone feel like this year's show was them kinda meeting in the middle from the weird critique from last year where people were complaining that the awards weren't mainstream enough? Like, people got their panties in a bunch that a movie like Spider-Man will never be nominated, and I feel like this year had a lot of stuff that was meant to reach a more casual audience. Or maybe I'm just dumb lol

  6. Watched THE FABLEMANS last night and thought it was great. People who are way better than me at dissecting film have talk about this, so I can't add much, but I really liked it. Paul Dano is really one of the great actors of our time and almost never gets mentioned as one.

  7. I've seen a couple of folks here go into it, but it's wild to me looking at the Twitter discourse, and how many people not understanding that Sami was never supposed to be the story. I love Sami, and that match was amazing until the finish, but he was never more than a happy accident in the broader Bloodline story.  Some otherwise smart people have convinced themselves that Elimination Chamber was supposed to be the endpoint, and idk man.  I'm not even a Cody guy, but I also know that going with him is the right move.

Also, the "make it a triple threat" people are wild, because all that would do is making Sami a double loser.

Its off to a decent start, but I don't have high expectations outside the usual good moments we get each season. They have just had too much trouble with overall narratives for me to have that much faith.

I guess I am optimistic, since Arrow had a good final season after years of being all over the place.  Red Death has me interested.

To be fair to Dallas, by all reports Brunson never gave the Mavs a chance to counter offer the Knicks last summer.

(Granted, in retrospect they should've offered an overpay on an extension the year before, but it's not like people expected his big breakout.)

Brunson was never going to stay once the Knicks hired his dad. I wish people would accept that.

I don't love this trade, but y'all already know that. Gutted that we gave up DFS for what will probably be a low yield rental. Actually I kinda hate it.

I mean, the Lakers seem like the most likely Kyrie destination, but Dallas might be second place.

I always assume that any buddy of Lebron will be a Laker eventually. I just don't see Kyrie as a player you mortgage your future on.

  11. I do not envy the showrunners at The Flash right now. Not only are they trying to wrap up their own show, but they are the de facto endpoint for an entire franchise, and probably feel some obligation in wrapping that up. Amell is confirmed to be back for an episode, but I get the feeling that will be a flashback situation.

Thanks! I missed the 51 from MJ when I looked at his game log.

I remember Crawford game now that you mention it. As I recall, he holds the record for lowest scoring average in a season with a 50pt game. He played just one more game in the NBA after the 51, too. Weird.

I remember that damn Crawford game, because it was during Dirk's final home game. Nearly ruined the whole thing.

Mavs-Spurs tonight is the most drunk game I have seen all season. Luka consistently having to go nuclear to beat lottery teams isn't ideal.

  13. For a series finale that was originally supposed to be a season finale, I thought they did a great job of bringing things to a satisfactory conclusion, while also leaving things open *just* enough, just in case it gets picked up elsewhere.

I wish things would have worked out differently with the CW and the Arrowverse, just so we could have gotten Stargirl involved with the crossovers.

  14. Honestly, I always thought the crossovers knocked it out of the park each time, with Earth X probably being the best one. They do take a level of investment in the full lineup of shows though. If I can level a criticism at the crossovers, it's that the producers didn't really care if they appealed to a casual viewer, and only really seemed aimed at the regular viewers.
